Stanley Black & Decker’s 2025 annual filing lists DEWALT, CRAFTSMAN, STANLEY, BLACK+DECKER and CUB CADET among its brands, while Techtronic Industries (TTI) lists MILWAUKEE, RYOBI, AEG, EMPIRE and HOMELITE. These are representative examples, not a complete ownership map of the tool industry.

The table below reflects the companies’ own descriptions of brands and trademarks in their businesses. “In the portfolio” is deliberate: a company’s brand list does not, by itself, establish whether every name is held through the same legal structure or licensed arrangement.

The Stanley Black & Decker filing reports $15.1 billion in consolidated revenue for fiscal 2025, with $13.2 billion, or 87% of total revenue, attributed to its Tools & Outdoor segment. Those are company-reported revenue figures, not measures of individual-brand sales or market share.
What “owned by” means—and what it does not tell you
People asking “Who owns Milwaukee tools?” or who stands behind another familiar label usually want to know the larger company behind the brand. A portfolio list answers that question at a useful high level, but it may not identify the precise legal relationship for each name. A brand may be associated with a parent through a subsidiary, trademark ownership or a licensing arrangement; the cited company descriptions do not resolve every label’s arrangement.

Corporate ownership is also separate from who physically makes a particular tool and where it is manufactured. The sources cited here do not establish the manufacturer or country of origin for each product. Check the product’s own labeling and documentation for those details.
Brand ownership is not a buying recommendation
Two labels under one corporate group can serve different users and product categories. TTI, for example, describes MILWAUKEE as professional-focused and RYOBI as DIY-focused. Stanley Black & Decker’s filing spans professional and consumer-facing brands as well as hand tools, accessories, storage and outdoor equipment.

Shared ownership alone does not show that two brands offer equal performance, quality, warranty terms, service or manufacturing origin. It also does not establish that their batteries, chargers or accessories are compatible. Compare the specific tool and system you need: intended workload, specifications, platform compatibility, available service and the jobsite requirements matter more than a corporate family tree.
TTI’s shareholders are a separate question
TTI says it is publicly traded on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and that the Pudwill family is its largest shareholder. That describes the company’s shareholding, not outright ownership of every brand in its portfolio. A largest shareholder and a parent company are different concepts.
