That verdict comes from one recipient’s year of use—not a controlled test or a broad owner survey—so whether the full bundle is worthwhile depends on what you cook, what you already own, and whether you have room for a large collection.
Which pieces stood out most?
Eat Your Books’ December 2024 summary of a Food & Wine interview described Valerie Cervantes’s experience after living with the set for about a year. She had replaced much of her former cookware and dinnerware with the collection. Her reported favorites point to three different ways the bundle can be useful: everyday cooking, a specialized task, and serving.
Large Dutch oven
Cervantes said she used the large Dutch oven frequently, including in place of her slow cooker. That makes it the strongest all-purpose standout in the available owner account. It is her experience, not a guarantee that a Dutch oven can replace a slow cooker for every household or recipe.
Crepe pan
The crepe pan was another favorite. Its appeal is more specific: a specialized pan earns a place when its owner actually makes the food it is designed for. If crepes are rare in your kitchen, that same specialization may make it less valuable to you than a more versatile pan.

Pasta bowls
Cervantes singled out the pasta bowls as her favorite dinnerware item and used them as serving bowls. They matter most to someone who would use the set’s tableware as well as its cookware; they add little value if your cabinets are already full of serving pieces.
What else is reported to be in the bundle?
The available coverage describes a wide-ranging collection, not just pots and pans. The Kitchn’s October 23, 2023 report described Dutch ovens, casserole dishes, baking and roasting trays, frying pans, saucepans, stockpots, gravy dishes, platters, diningware, and wine-related items. Parade’s 2023 roundup also named mixing bowls, ramekins, and utensils.

These are broad categories, not a verified item-by-item inventory. The available sources do not establish precise sizes, quantities for individual pieces, or a definitive list of everything Costco included. Treat detailed inventories from secondary pages as unconfirmed unless you can verify them against a current primary product listing.
Is the full set worth it for your kitchen?
Consider the collection as a whole rather than judging it only by the most appealing pieces. A large bundle can be a good fit when it replaces many items you need and you have space to store and use them. It is a weaker fit when much of the cookware, bakeware, or tableware would duplicate what you own.

- Use frequency: Identify which pieces you would reach for regularly, not just which ones look impressive in a set.
- Overlap: Compare the reported categories with your existing pots, pans, baking dishes, bowls, and serving ware.
- Storage: Account for the space needed for a collection that includes cookware, bakeware, and tableware. In the owner account, having room to store the pieces was part of her situation.
- Specialized items: Decide whether items such as a crepe pan match food you actually make.
- Buying only what you need: Compare the full bundle with a smaller set or selected individual pieces; the available reporting does not establish a savings percentage for either approach.
What do the historical price and availability reports show?
The Kitchn reported a $4,500 price and pallet delivery when it covered the 157-piece Costco set on October 23, 2023. Eat Your Books also summarized an approximately $4,500 historical price in December 2024. Neither report confirms today’s price. Parade said the set was no longer on Costco’s website when its 2023 roundup was published; present-day availability remains unverified.
The Kitchn also discussed a smaller Le Creuset mixed-material 20-piece set and individual products as alternatives. One individual option it named was a 7.25-quart Le Creuset enameled cast-iron Dutch oven that Amazon listed at the time. That is an example of an individual alternative, not confirmed identification of the Dutch oven in Costco’s bundle. Check current listings and prices before buying.

How should you care for enameled cast iron?
In a May 26, 2026 House Beautiful article, Nate Collier, Le Creuset’s director of marketing communications, advised letting cookware cool before washing and avoiding sudden temperature changes. He warned: “You never want to place a hot pan in cold water or fill a hot pot with cold water. That may lead to cracking of the enamel due to thermal shock.”
Collier also cautioned that metal tools may be used with care, but should not be scraped over the enamel surface. Soft cleaning materials are the safer choice. The article mentions Le Creuset Cast Iron Cookware Cleaner, Bar Keepers Friend, and baking soda paste for stains; follow the product’s care guidance when choosing a cleaner.
