The best quiet full-size blender in this 2026 shortlist is the Vitamix Ascent X5, but none of these machines is silent: RTINGS measured it at 89.0 dBA at maximum noise. If you want a physical sound barrier, consider the Hamilton Beach Professional Quiet Blender; for a lower-cost ice-crushing option, the Ninja Professional Plus Blender DUO with Auto-iQ is the stronger fit. These are countertop picks, not a ranking of portable personal blenders.
How to interpret “quiet” blender measurements
Noise readings below come from RTINGS’ 2026 testing and are not standardized manufacturer noise ratings or guarantees of what you will hear at home. They were recorded under each product’s test conditions, so compare them as useful context rather than as a definitive ranking. The Hamilton Beach result, in particular, depends on its sound dome being fitted.
Ingredients also matter: TechRadar notes that hard ingredients demand more from a blender and tend to make more noise than wet, easy-to-blend ingredients. A smoothie of soft fruit is not a reliable guide to how loud a blender will be crushing ice or processing nuts.
The five best quiet countertop blenders
| Model | RTINGS noise result | Best suited to | Key trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vitamix Ascent X5 | 89.0 dBA maximum | Broad recipe range and automatic programs | Premium-priced; 48-ounce jar |
| Vitamix VX1 | About 90.5 dB at full speed | Large batches and manual speed control | Louder than the X5; less extensive warranty |
| Hamilton Beach Professional Quiet Blender | A little over 87 dB with dome fitted | Fibrous smoothies with the sound dome in place | Small 32-ounce pitcher; tough blends get louder without dome |
| Ninja Professional Plus Blender DUO with Auto-iQ (BN751) | Just under 89 dBA at highest speed | Ice crushing, large batches, and personal servings | Fibrous blends may remain coarse; thick nut butter needs stirring |
| BLACK+DECKER Quiet Blender with Cyclone Glass Jar | A little over 87 dB at highest speed | Lower-cost option with a glass main jar | Weak ice crushing and less robust build quality |
1. Vitamix Ascent X5: best overall for range
RTINGS names the Ascent X5 its best quiet blender. Its 48-ounce jar and 11 automatic programs make it the most feature-rich choice here, and RTINGS reports strong results for leafy-green smoothies, thick recipes such as nut butter and hummus, and small batches of crushed ice. Its maximum measured noise was 89.0 dBA in RTINGS’ test. Choose it if you want one machine for varied recipes and are comfortable paying for a premium model.
#1 Best Overall
- QUIET TECHNOLOGY & DIGITAL CONTROLS - Enjoy reduced blending noise for a pleasant experience, plus digital controls with 3 speeds, 3 smart functions, and a pulse feature to achieve the perfect consistency.
- UP TO 30% FASTER BLENDING - Get fast results with 900W of ice crushing power, the Cyclone Glass Jar for fast vortex blending, and the new 6-tip blade with 2 serrated edges.
- 6-TIP SERRATED BLADE TECHNOLOGY - 6-tip serrated blending blade technology works with the shape of the jar to create a constant flow and vortex that leads ingredients directly to the blades for fast blending performance.
- 24-OZ. TRITAN PERSONAL BLENDER JAR WITH TRAVEL LID - The blender’s power base is compatible with the included personal blender jar, making it easy to create personal-sized beverages for home or to go.
- BLENDING TIPS: For smooth operation and to prevent leaks or noise, cut ingredients into pieces no larger than ¾”, add liquids first, start on low speed, keep lid on, avoid overfilling, and limit blending to 1 ½ minutes. See the user manual for more tips.
2. Vitamix VX1: simpler, larger-capacity option
The VX1 pairs a 64-ounce jar with a stepless speed dial, pulse control, and a self-clean program. RTINGS reports strong performance across smoothies, soups, ice, and thick blends. At full speed it reached about 90.5 dB in that outlet’s test, making it louder than the X5; RTINGS also describes its warranty as shorter and less extensive than the X5’s. It suits buyers who value a large pitcher and direct manual control over the X5’s broader automatic-program set.
3. Hamilton Beach Professional Quiet Blender: dome-equipped value
Its sound dome is the defining feature: RTINGS measured a little over 87 dB with the dome fitted and found it made good smoothies from fibrous ingredients. The 32-ounce pitcher is smaller than the Vitamix VX1’s. For harder jobs such as nuts and ice, RTINGS says performance is better with the dome removed and a tamper used; doing so also makes the blender noticeably louder. It is the clearest choice if you specifically want an enclosure for ordinary smoothie blending, not if you need a large pitcher or expect every tough blend to stay enclosed.
Rank #2
- PULSE TECHNOLOGY POWER: The powerful 700-watt push-to-blend motor base powers through everything in the cup for the best of Ninja blending as a smoothie maker, milkshake mixer, and more

- ON-THE-GO CONVENIENCE: Blend directly in the 16-oz. single-serve cup, attach the spout lid, and enjoy your creations wherever your day takes you
4. Ninja Professional Plus Blender DUO with Auto-iQ (BN751): budget pick for ice
RTINGS measured the BN751 at just under 89 dBA at its highest speed and found it crushed ice better than the X5 in its tests. The main pitcher is 72 ounces, although SharkNinja specifies a 64-ounce maximum liquid capacity. The official product page also lists two 24-ounce cups, three automatic programs, 1,400 peak watts, and a one-year warranty. RTINGS’ trade-off is recipe texture: fibrous produce may not become fully smooth in the main pitcher, and thick nut-butter mixtures need manual stirring.
5. BLACK+DECKER Quiet Blender with Cyclone Glass Jar: low-cost glass-jar choice
RTINGS measured a little over 87 dB at the highest speed and reported good overall performance for around $50 in the context of its review; that is not a current price quote. The blender includes a 48-ounce glass main jar and a 24-ounce personal jar. RTINGS flags weaker build quality than the more expensive options and limited ice performance: it can handle only a few cubes before leaving chunks. It makes more sense for shoppers prioritizing a glass pitcher and low purchase cost than for frequent ice crushing.

- QUIETER BLENDING WITH PATENTED DESIGN: When quieter blending matters, this kitchen blender for smoothies delivers. It has a patented base design that minimizes motor and airflow noise during operation, making blending more pleasant and less likely to bother others.

- ULTRA-SMOOTH RESULTS WITH PATENTED WAVE~ACTION SYSTEM: As you blend, ingredients are continuously forced down into the blades and circulated around the jar — thoroughly crushing the hardest contents with ease.
- EASY TO CLEAN: Cleaning up after blending is easy, since the glass jar, removable blades and lid are all dishwasher safe.
- STAINLESS STEEL ICE SABRE BLADES EASILY CRUSH ICE: The blades were performance-tested for strength and durability by crushing two tons of ice, so they easily stand up to frozen fruit and tough ingredients.
Choose by the job, not the decibel figure alone
- Leafy smoothies and varied recipes: The Ascent X5 has the broadest mix of reported performance and automatic programs. The Hamilton Beach is also a good smoothie option when its dome is in place.
- Ice: RTINGS found the Ninja DUO stronger at ice crushing than the X5. The BLACK+DECKER is the least suitable of these five for repeated ice work.
- Thick blends: RTINGS reports the X5 handles nut butter and hummus well. The Ninja may require stirring for thick nut-butter mixtures; the Hamilton Beach needs its dome removed and a tamper for demanding blends.
- Batch size: The Hamilton Beach’s 32-ounce pitcher is the smallest listed here. The X5 has a 48-ounce jar, the VX1 a 64-ounce jar, and the Ninja a 72-ounce pitcher with a 64-ounce liquid maximum.
- Servings on the go: The Ninja and BLACK+DECKER both include a 24-ounce personal jar or cup. Those extras do not change the noise or capacity of their main pitchers.
For an apartment or early-morning kitchen, the sound dome may be more useful than a small difference in test readings—but only for blends you can make with it installed. Keep expectations realistic: all five remain high-speed countertop machines, and the ingredient load and blending task affect the sound.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What about portable blenders?
This list is limited to countertop models. RTINGS’ guide separately includes the Beast GO Cordless as a portable smoothie pick, with weaker ice handling and less versatility than full-size blenders. In a different 2026 test, TechRadar measured the portable Nutribullet Flip at 79 dB maximum. That reading is not a direct like-for-like comparison with the countertop results above; the smaller portable format is intended for a narrower set of jobs.

Hot-liquid and buying checks
- For hot ingredients, TechRadar advises using a vented lid to prevent steam and pressure from building in the pitcher, which can cause splashing when opened. Follow the individual blender manual for hot liquids, fill limits, and cleaning.
- Check current local pricing and the manufacturer’s warranty terms before buying. The BLACK+DECKER price noted above comes from RTINGS’ review context and should not be treated as a live quote.
- Consider how often you make difficult blends, not only smoothies: ice, nuts, hummus, and small batches put different demands on a blender and can change the noise you hear.
