Everton’s new stadium is Hill Dickinson Stadium, built at Bramley-Moore Dock on Liverpool’s waterfront. It became the club’s home for the 2025/26 season, and its first Premier League match was against Brighton & Hove Albion on 24 August 2025. The Premier League lists its capacity as 52,769.
What is Everton’s new stadium called?
The stadium’s current name is Hill Dickinson Stadium. Bramley-Moore Dock is its waterfront location and the name used for the project during development. Everton’s former league home, Goodison Park, is now a separate venue; Everton lists tours there as well as at the new stadium.
Where is Hill Dickinson Stadium?
It stands at Bramley-Moore Dock on Liverpool’s waterfront. The redevelopment put a football stadium on a historic dock site, alongside public spaces and facilities for events and visitors. The planning application summary also describes club retail, food and drink concessions, exhibition and conference facilities, cycle parking, a fan zone and proposed exhibition or cultural use for the Hydraulic Tower. For the application record and planning status, consult Liverpool City Council’s planning records.
When did the new Everton stadium open?
Hill Dickinson Stadium became Everton’s home for the 2025/26 season. Its first Premier League fixture was Everton against Brighton & Hove Albion on 24 August 2025, as reported by the Premier League. That date marks the stadium’s top-flight league debut, not necessarily its first use for any event: the available account does not establish the complete sequence of test events or earlier non-league and friendly matches.

What is the capacity of Hill Dickinson Stadium?
The Premier League reported a capacity of 52,769 in its 24 August 2025 article about the ground’s league debut. This is the figure published by the league; it is not a count of attendance at a particular match.
What is known about the stadium’s design?
The defining idea is a purpose-built football ground on Liverpool’s historic dock waterfront. Everton’s stadium gallery shows an exterior combining brick, glass and steel, a barrel roof, dockside glazing and railings inspired by the work of Archibald Leitch. These are useful visual features, rather than a complete architectural specification.

Fit-out and public realm
Everton said it formally took control of the stadium in December 2024 and began a six-month fit-out for bars, restaurants, visitor experiences and retail spaces. On 13 July 2025, the club reported that the final one of 36,000 personalised granite stones had been laid on Everton Way, behind the south stand. At that point, exterior branding and final installations were continuing, while many hospitality spaces were ready for premium guests. The club update was carried by the Premier League.

Planning application on non-sporting events
A planning-data summary last checked on 24 September 2026 listed a pending application to vary an event condition. It sought permission for up to eight full-capacity non-sporting events per calendar year, with no more than two continuing until 23:30 and concerts ending by 23:00. Because the summary described the application as pending, those terms should not be treated as an approved or current operating regime. Check the live council record for its status.
The same summary records original planning approval on 23 June 2021 and later non-material amendments in 2022 and 2023, including public-realm changes and revisions affecting the north elevation and Sandhills Lane transport strategy. These are details from a planning-data summary, not a substitute for the council’s underlying documents.
