How to assess Cobra against other blankets
Before buying any fire blanket, check whether its size suits the small, contained incident you have in mind, whether the pouch can be reached quickly, what the instructions say about use and replacement, and whether standards documentation and warranty terms can be verified. Compare the current delivered price rather than a per-unit bundle figure alone.

It reports an estimated 170,000 U.S. home cooking fires in 2021, with 135 deaths, 3,000 injuries and more than $494 million in property loss. - Turn off the burner if you can do so safely.
- Slide a lid over the pan. Do not carry or move the pan.
- Leave the lid in place until the pan is completely cool.
- Never pour water on a grease fire.
NFPA says only trained adults should use an extinguisher on a grease fire and that only Class K extinguishers are rated for fires involving cooking oils and animal fats. A fire blanket is an optional tool for a small, contained incident; it is not a substitute for smoke alarms, an evacuation plan or suitable extinguishing equipment. USFA recommends working smoke alarms inside every bedroom, outside each separate sleeping area and on every level of the home.
