Its advertised work area is 200 × 200 mm, but its stated maximum effective volume for inner engraving is smaller: 70 × 70 × 150 mm. Those figures are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance tests.
What the xTool F2 Ultra UV is designed to do
xTool positions this model for surface engraving and detailed work on materials including glass, as well as inner engraving in glass and crystal. Its product page also makes claims about customization, speed and workflows that avoid pretreatment; these are company claims, not independently verified results or guarantees of finish, throughput or business return. xTool’s product page describes its positioning.
Do not confuse the UV machine with other F2 Ultra variants. xTool’s comparison says the UV model does not cut metal, while the separately named MOPA and diode versions use different laser sources and have different material capabilities. Check the exact model suffix and laser type before relying on a review or specification. The F2 Ultra UV comparison page makes this distinction.
Published specifications and what they mean
The xTool user guide, updated September 18, 2026, identifies model MXF-K007-001 and gives the following specifications. Treat them as manufacturer statements; they do not predict the speed or quality of a particular job.

Glass and crystal inner engraving
The FAQ lists a maximum effective inner-engraving volume of 70 × 70 × 150 mm. This is not the same as the 200 × 200 mm internal working area: the first figure describes the stated volume for inner engraving, while the latter is the working area. Actual suitability also depends on the shape and dimensions of the object. xTool says acrylic inner engraving is not supported. See the F2 Ultra UV FAQ.

xTool lists engraving and cutting across multiple materials, but that broad listing does not mean every material can be processed with every operation or setup. Check the manufacturer’s guidance for the specific material and process, and test parameters before working on the intended piece. In particular, xTool says this UV model does not cut metal.
Choose the setup around the job
Flat work, cylindrical objects or batch work
xTool lists the RA3, RA2 Pro and RA2 rotary attachments for compatible workflows. For cylindrical pieces, check the exact accessory and machine compatibility before purchase. The Auto Streamline Conveyor is listed for surface batch work, but xTool says it cannot be used at the same time as inner engraving.

Extraction and workshop equipment
The FAQ lists the AP2 purifier and IF2 and IF2 2.0 inline fans among compatible accessories. Compatibility alone does not establish which ventilation arrangement is suitable for every material, process or installation; select equipment based on the actual work and workshop conditions.
Operating conditions
xTool’s FAQ specifies an operating environment of +10°C to +30°C and 10%–60% relative humidity, and recommends limiting each continuous operating period to no more than eight hours. Check the current documentation for the exact machine before planning a production schedule. The FAQ contains xTool’s operating guidance.

Safety depends on the exact regional model
Do not assume that one laser classification applies to every F2 Ultra UV configuration. The US-facing user guide is titled “Class 1 Laser Device” and identifies model MXF-K007-001. By contrast, xTool’s EU & UK safety page identifies model MXF-K007-003 as a Class 4 working laser, with Class 3B and Class 3R indicator lasers. Follow the safety documentation for the exact model and region.
For MXF-K007-003, xTool calls for trained professional operators, an appointed Laser Safety Officer, safety controls and appropriate personal protective equipment. It warns that radiation may escape through openings if the enclosure is lifted during operation. Read the EU & UK safety instructions where they apply, and consult the relevant regional guide for other configurations.

Verify the actual specifications of the selected eyewear and the instructions for the specific machine; a generic “laser safety” label is not enough to establish suitability. The FAQ states xTool’s eyewear guidance.
Is this the right F2 Ultra for your work?
- Consider the UV model if your priority is glass or crystal work, including the stated inner-engraving use case, and you can work within its documented limits and safety requirements.
- Compare another F2 Ultra variant if the central job is metal marking, embossing or cutting. The UV model’s metal-cutting limitation makes the laser type a key buying distinction.
- Check the work envelope against your object. The surface working area and inner-engraving volume are different measurements and should not be substituted for one another.
- Plan accessories around the workflow. Rotary attachments, conveyor and extraction equipment serve different tasks; the conveyor and inner engraving cannot be used simultaneously.
Use model-specific product and support pages when comparing machines. The F2 Ultra name alone is not enough to establish that a specification, safety statement or material capability applies to the UV version.
