If your faucet is one of the recalled models below, stop using it and contact the seller about disposal and a refund. The May 2025 recalls cover three faucet models sold on Amazon; the reported counts add up to about 103,000 units. A recall identifies a product hazard, but it does not establish that any particular household was exposed to lead.
Check the brand and model number
Do not rely on appearance alone. Compare the brand and model printed on your purchase details or product materials with the recalled models:

The three approximate counts total about 103,000; that is a calculation from the reported brand counts, not a separate CPSC total. CBS reported sales from January 2024 through May 2025. The directly reviewed CPSC notice says VFAUOSIT 06BNV faucets were sold online at Amazon from January 2024 through May 2025 for about $40. Do not assume that price or the VFAUOSIT seller details apply to the other models.
The VFAUOSIT model is described by CPSC as a brushed-nickel, single-handle faucet with a pull-down detachable spray and single-hole installation. These details can help identify it, but confirm the model number rather than matching only the finish or design.

What to do if your faucet matches
- Stop using the faucet and arrange a replacement. CPSC directs consumers with a matching faucet to stop using it immediately and contact the seller about disposal and a refund.
- Follow the instructions for your specific brand. For VFAUOSIT, the CPSC notice says to provide an order number and a photograph of the faucet after disposal. The named seller is Whisper08, which is contacting known purchasers; the notice lists [email protected]. For KICIMPRO or BASDEHEN, check the applicable CPSC recall notice for that brand’s seller and required documentation rather than reusing VFAUOSIT’s instructions.
- If the seller does not respond to a recall remedy issue, the CPSC notice points consumers to its recall complaint form.
- Replace the fixture. Before buying a replacement, check that it fits the sink’s hole configuration and mounting space, that its water-line connections are compatible, and that the product has credible documentation of applicable lead-content requirements. The available recall sources do not test or validate replacement models.
What to do about water in the meantime
The CPSC VFAUOSIT notice says that until the faucet can be replaced, consumers should consume water from it only after running the water for 15 seconds. This is interim guidance from the recall notice, not a guarantee that flushing removes the hazard or permission to return to ordinary use of a recalled fixture.
EPA recommends using only cold water for drinking, cooking, and making infant formula: warm or hot water can draw more lead from pipes and fixtures. Boiling does not remove lead. EPA says a properly used filter can reduce lead in drinking water, but that does not establish that a filter makes a recalled faucet safe or replace the CPSC direction to stop using and replace it.

Does the recall mean your household was exposed?
No. The CPSC notice says the VFAUOSIT faucet was tested and found to contain lead that can leach into water, and it also reports leaching of other contaminants. CPSC warns that lead ingestion can harm neurological development, including attention-related behavior, cognitive performance, and IQ; infants and young children can be particularly vulnerable. EPA says lead is toxic, can harm nearly every organ and system, and that no safe level in children has been identified. EPA also describes risks to pregnant people and developing fetuses.
A product hazard is not proof of exposure in an individual home. CPSC lists no reported incidents or injuries for the VFAUOSIT recall; CBS reported no injuries for the group of recalls. The reviewed sources do not establish a purchaser-specific exposure rate or quantify exposure among households that bought these faucets. EPA says a blood lead test can determine whether a person has been exposed and recommends discussing known exposure with a healthcare professional. Lead can have sources beyond a faucet, so reducing exposure and identifying its source are both important.
