TP-Link’s “new routers and mesh systems for all homes and outdoor spaces” were announced on May 20, 2025—not as a September 2026 launch. The consumer range is led by the Deco BE68 indoor mesh, Deco BE65-Outdoor weather-resistant mesh unit and Archer BE600 router. A separate Omada EAP772-Outdoor access point targets small businesses and advanced home networks.

What TP-Link launched

TP-Link described the announcement as a refreshed Wi-Fi 7 collection. Its consumer products use the Deco whole-home mesh or Archer standalone-router approach, while Omada equipment is managed as a business-oriented access-point system. The speed and coverage figures below are TP-Link specifications, not independent test results or guarantees for every building.

Product Architecture TP-Link-stated capabilities Best fit
Deco BE65-Outdoor Tri-band outdoor mesh 11 Gbps Wi-Fi; 320 MHz channels; AFC for 6 GHz; Multi-Link Operation (MLO); two 2.5 Gbps PoE+ ports; up to 3,000 sq. ft.; IP65 enclosure Extending a consumer Deco network into a garden, patio or other exposed area
Deco BE68 Three-pack, tri-band indoor mesh Up to 14 Gbps Wi-Fi; 10G wired connectivity; coverage up to 8,100 sq. ft. Large homes needing coordinated indoor coverage and fast wired links
Archer BE600 Tri-band standalone router 9.7 Gbps Wi-Fi; 10G wired speeds A single-router installation or a network where you will add separate access points
Omada EAP772-Outdoor Managed outdoor access point Up to 11 Gbps; coverage up to 3,200 sq. ft.; full 6 GHz coverage SMBs, installers and technically advanced home-lab networks using Omada management

Deco BE65-Outdoor: the consumer option for outside areas

The Deco BE65-Outdoor is the clearest match for homeowners who want one Deco mesh system to serve both the house and an outdoor living or work area. TP-Link calls it an 11 Gbps tri-band Wi-Fi 7 outdoor mesh router and rates its coverage at up to 3,000 sq. ft. Those are manufacturer figures; wall construction, trees, neighboring networks, client devices and mounting position can produce different results.

Weather protection and installation

An IP65 enclosure is specified, meaning the housing is intended to resist dust ingress and water jets. It is not a promise that every installation will survive flooding, immersion or poor cable sealing. Mount it where drainage is clear and follow the installation instructions for any glands, covers and fasteners.

  • 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐩 & 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Set up and control your network in minutes with the Deco App. Keep your WiFi performing at its best by keeping the firmware updated through the App. All Wi-Fi routers require a separate modem. ⌂
  • 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 - TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.

PoE and backhaul implications

Two 2.5 Gbps PoE+ ports can carry power and data over suitable Ethernet cabling, reducing the need for a nearby mains outlet. Plan for a PoE+ switch or injector, outdoor-rated cable routing and a wired backhaul if you want the most predictable connection between the outdoor node and the rest of the mesh. A wireless mesh link can work, but its quality depends on the indoor node’s location and the building materials between them.

Deco BE68: high-capacity indoor mesh

TP-Link identifies the Deco BE68 as an all-new three-pack tri-band Wi-Fi 7 mesh system. Its published headline figures are up to 14 Gbps of Wi-Fi throughput, 10G wired connectivity and coverage up to 8,100 sq. ft. Treat those as aggregate, idealized product ratings rather than the speed a single phone or laptop will necessarily receive.

A three-node system is useful when a building has multiple floors, separated rooms or construction materials that weaken radio signals. Use Ethernet between nodes where practical: wired backhaul leaves more wireless capacity for client devices and avoids relying on a marginal inter-node link.

Archer BE600: simpler router architecture

The tri-band Archer BE600 is rated by TP-Link at 9.7 Gbps Wi-Fi with 10G wired speeds. It is the more direct choice when one central router can cover the property or when you intend to design coverage with separate wired access points. Unlike a Deco kit, it is not presented in this announcement as a multi-node whole-home mesh package.

Omada EAP772-Outdoor is a different category

The EAP772-Outdoor is not the outdoor Deco replacement. It belongs to TP-Link’s Omada business and access-point family and is aimed at SMBs, installers and home-lab users who want centrally managed networking. TP-Link states up to 11 Gbps and coverage up to 3,200 sq. ft., including full 6 GHz coverage.

Choose Omada when you are prepared to design an access-point network, provide appropriate Ethernet and PoE infrastructure, and manage it through the Omada ecosystem. It is not a plug-in consumer mesh substitute. TP-Link’s 2026 Omada material also says availability varies by region and notes that AFC functionality on some listed equipment may require a future firmware upgrade.

How to choose for a house or construction project

Choose Deco BE65-Outdoor when

  • You already use, or want, a consumer Deco mesh system.
  • The outdoor unit needs a weather-resistant enclosure.
  • You can provide PoE+ and preferably a wired Ethernet backhaul.

Choose Deco BE68 when

  • You need coordinated indoor coverage across a large or multi-level home.
  • There is value in 10G wired connections for a NAS, workstation or high-speed internet service.
  • A three-node mesh layout suits the floor plan better than one central router.

Choose Archer BE600 when

  • A single indoor router is sufficient.
  • You prefer to build coverage with separately placed, wired access points.
  • You want 10G wired capability without buying a three-pack mesh system.

Choose Omada EAP772-Outdoor when

  • The network is for a small business, workshop, multi-building property or home lab.
  • You need managed access points rather than a consumer Deco installation.
  • You can handle PoE, controller or cloud-management requirements and regional feature differences.

Placement and cabling checklist

  1. Map the areas that need service, including garages, patios, outbuildings and work zones.
  2. Identify thick masonry, foil-backed insulation, metal framing and other obstructions before deciding node locations.
  3. Specify Ethernet routes and PoE equipment early, especially if cables will be concealed during construction.
  4. Keep outdoor hardware within the manufacturer’s environmental limits and protect cable entries from water.
  5. Use wired backhaul where the building layout makes a reliable wireless link unlikely.
  6. After installation, test from the actual client locations; do not treat the printed coverage area as a guaranteed boundary.

Launch names and prices need date context

TP-Link’s May 2025 release listed a $699.99 MSRP for the Deco BE14000 three-pack and said Best Buy offered it at $599.99 under the Deco BE68 name, with an Amazon listing under the Deco BE67 name described as coming soon. The same release listed the Archer BE9700 at a $249.99 MSRP, available at Best Buy and coming soon to Amazon. For the outdoor model, it said Best Buy rollout would begin later that month and referred to the product as Deco BE11000 in that retailer context.

Those are historical launch labels, prices and availability statements, not current quotations. Retailer SKUs may identify configurations differently, so verify the exact model, included hardware, regional radio rules, stock and present price before ordering.

What the specifications do—and do not—prove

  • They establish TP-Link’s advertised radio and port capabilities, not independent throughput, range or reliability rankings.
  • Actual performance depends on client support for Wi-Fi 7 features, channel availability, interference, cabling and placement.
  • “World’s first” for the outdoor 6 GHz Deco and “best-in-class” value or performance are TP-Link promotional claims, not independently verified conclusions.
