Xiaomi launched the Mijia Multi-Functional Electric Hot Pot 6L in China on October 7, 2024. Its China launch configuration combines a 6-liter detachable pot, up to 2000W of power, six heat levels, timer-based programs, memory for cooking settings and dry-burn protection. Crowdfunding opened at 249 yuan, against a stated 329-yuan retail price.
Xiaomi now lists the related Xiaomi Multifunctional Hot Pot Cooker 6L on its global website, but the company warns that specifications and functions vary by market. The original launch was not a confirmed worldwide or U.S. retail release, and “smart” refers to cooking automation and memory—not verified Wi-Fi or app control.
China launch: what Xiaomi actually announced
The China announcement covered the Mijia Multi-Functional Electric Hot Pot 6L on October 7, 2024. Crowdfunding was scheduled from October 9 at 10:00 to October 16 at 10:00, with expected shipments from October 23. The launch price was 249 yuan; Xiaomi gave a suggested retail price of 329 yuan. Those are historical China prices, not confirmed U.S. prices. Contemporary dollar conversions are only approximate exchange-rate conversions.
The product later appeared under the name Xiaomi Multifunctional Hot Pot Cooker 6L on Xiaomi’s global site. That listing confirms a broader regional presence, but it does not establish U.S. stock, a U.S. warranty or universal electrical compatibility.

Six liters is a nominal capacity. In practice, leave headroom for boiling, foam, splashing and ingredients. Xiaomi positions the global model for roughly four to six people, making it more suitable for family meals and shared tabletop cooking than for a single small portion.
What you can cook
The cooker is designed for Chinese hot pot, broth, soup, stews, noodles, boiling and other one-pot meals. Limited frying or grilling may be possible where the manual permits it, but the appliance should not be treated as a pressure cooker or as a replacement for every saucepan, skillet or induction hob.

Global program description
The current global Xiaomi page describes six hot-pot programs, customizable cooking time, a completion beep and smart memory. Xiaomi has not published a complete mapping between those six programs and the eight categories described for China, so buyers should check the manual for the exact regional unit.
How the heat controls and automation work
The China launch material presents the heat range as practical cooking stages:
- About 400–600W: soup base or gentle cooking.
- 800W: warming.
- 1200W: slow cooking.
- 1600W: cooking food through.
- 2000W: rapid heating or boiling.
A Xiaomi Taiwan support page lists selectable points of 300W, 600W, 800W, 1200W, 1600W and 2000W, while describing the same control as six-level. That difference reinforces Xiaomi’s warning that regional versions are not identical. Use the rating label and manual supplied with your cooker rather than assuming the China setting list applies everywhere.

What “smart cooking” does—and does not—mean
The verified smart features are built-in automation: preset programs, adjustable heat, timed shutoff, a completion beep, temperature sensing and memory. The available official product information does not verify Wi-Fi, smartphone control, Xiaomi Home integration, voice assistants, recipe synchronization or HyperOS connectivity for this cooker.

In other words, it is a programmable countertop electric pot, not a confirmed connected-home appliance. Do not buy it expecting remote start or app recipes unless the exact market-specific manual and product listing explicitly provide those functions.

Regional versions matter more than the headline specification
Xiaomi’s global page states that multiple regional specification versions exist and that appearance and functionality may differ. The evidence includes a Taiwan product listing showing a 1500W version, while another Taiwan support page describes a 2000W model and a 10A, 250V three-prong plug. Weight figures of approximately 3.8kg net and 4.7kg gross are also regional figures, not universal specifications.

A 2000W appliance draws approximately 16.7A at 120V or 9.1A at 220V. That makes a 220V Chinese version a poor candidate for casual use on a U.S. circuit. A plug adapter changes the connector shape; it does not convert voltage. Confirm an exact 120V model and appropriate certification before considering U.S. use.

The detachable pot is intended to make washing and serving easier. It does not make the heating base washable by immersion. Xiaomi warns that the heating element at the bottom should not be soaked for a long period and should be dried before reuse. Unless the manual for your model explicitly says otherwise, hand-wash the nonstick pot and avoid assuming it is dishwasher-safe.

- Keep the base, connector and heating element dry.
- Use a properly grounded, compatible outlet and account for the appliance’s high current draw.
- Leave room below the rim, especially with foaming broth, noodles or starchy foods.
- Use non-metal utensils and non-abrasive cleaners to reduce nonstick damage.
- Treat the lid, handles, exterior and escaping steam as hot surfaces.
- Do not treat dry-burn protection as permission to leave a cooking appliance unattended.
Boiling results will change with starting water temperature, lid position, ingredient load, altitude and supply voltage. The seven-to-eight-minute figure is a manufacturer or launch-material claim, not an independent laboratory result. Likewise, any Xiaomi temperature-uniformity claim should be read as a stated manufacturer performance claim rather than independent testing.
Who should consider it?
Good fit
- Households wanting a large tabletop pot for hot pot, soup and shared meals.
- Users who value detachable cleanup, several heat levels and repeatable timers.
- Buyers able to obtain a regionally compatible model with clear warranty and return support.
Reasons to hesitate
- You need plug-and-play 120V operation or confirmed U.S. after-sales support.
- You specifically want app, voice or remote control.
- You cook mainly single portions or have limited storage space.
- You need pressure cooking, independently controlled zones or a proven long-term nonstick track record.
- You would have to import a model without verified voltage, grounding or certification.
Alternatives for comparison
A conventional 6L electric hot pot from Midea is one China-market alternative. Its official listing describes 2100W power, a dual-ring heating system, three power levels, temperature sensing and detachable variants; the displayed price was 329 yuan when crawled. For shoppers who need local electrical compatibility and broader cookware flexibility, a locally sold induction hob paired with a removable pot can be more practical. That approach gives up the Mijia preset interface but can simplify replacement, warranty service and cookware choice.
Bottom line
On paper, Xiaomi’s 6L cooker is a capable shared-meal appliance: high power, a detachable nonstick pot, multiple heat settings, food presets, timers and safety controls. The deciding issue is not the headline alone. Check the exact regional model’s voltage, plug, wattage, programs, warranty and return terms, and interpret “smart” as built-in cooking automation unless a market-specific listing proves connected features.
