Stop the cycle, turn off both wall water valves, and disconnect power only if the plug can be reached from a completely dry position. Keep people and pets away from the water. If the plug, socket, or electrical connections are wet—or you would need to stand in water—do not touch them; arrange qualified help.
Water under the cabinet is a symptom, not a diagnosis. It may have started at a supply hose, drain hose, door gasket, detergent drawer, filter, pump, household drain, or another internal component and then traveled across the floor.
First, make the area safe
- Press Stop or Cancel and wait for the drum to stop.
- Close the hot- and cold-water valves at the wall.
- Unplug the washer only when the plug and the floor around it are dry and safely reachable. Never handle a wet plug or electrical connection.
- Mop or contain water only after the area is safe, and keep children and pets out of it.
Do not tilt or lift a water-filled machine, reach underneath an energized appliance, or remove cabinet panels to search for the source.
Use timing and location to narrow the source
Once the immediate leak is controlled, dry the floor around the washer. If the leak is small and you can observe from a dry position, note both the first location and the part of the cycle when water appears. This narrows the possibilities but does not prove the source, because water can run along the cabinet or floor.

Check the external causes in a safe order
1. Inspect the inlet hoses
Look at both supply-hose connections and the visible hose bodies. A loose, split, or cracked hose can leak while the washer fills. Reseat an undamaged connection according to the model manual; do not overtighten it. Replace a visibly cracked inlet hose with one compatible with the washer model, fitting type, length, and installation.
2. Check the drain hose and household drain
Confirm that the drain hose is secure and not visibly damaged. Watch the standpipe or sink connection during draining, if you can do so without entering the wet area. Water that backs up or overflows at the household drain points to a plumbing restriction rather than a washer part. A detached or blocked drain hose can also leave water near the machine.

3. Examine the door gasket on a front-loader
Check for clothing caught between the door and seal, then remove visible hair or debris if the machine is unplugged and the area is dry. A torn or distorted gasket generally needs a model-specific seal replacement or technician service.
4. Verify the filter and emergency-drain caps
If the leak began after cleaning the drain filter, check that the emergency-drain hose cap and pump-filter cap are fully seated as described in the manual. Opening this area can release residual water, so place a suitable container or towels first and keep hands away from moving or energized parts.

5. Check detergent, drawer, and load conditions
Excess or unsuitable detergent can create oversudsing and leakage. Follow the washer and detergent dosage instructions. Also look for a blocked detergent drawer, an overloaded drum, or water escaping during filling because the drawer cannot drain correctly.

- The leak continues after an obvious external hose, cap, gasket-debris, or detergent issue is corrected.
- Water is coming from inside the cabinet or from a suspected pump, valve, or internal hose.
- The source cannot be identified without moving a heavy appliance or removing panels.
- Water is near the plug, socket, wiring, or other electrical equipment.
- The household drain is backing up and needs plumbing attention.
Stop using the washer until it has been assessed. Manufacturer troubleshooting guidance from LG, Whirlpool, Electrolux, Bosch, and GE Appliances treats persistent or internal leaks as service issues; washer layouts and repair procedures vary by model.

Choose a repair only after identifying the evidence
