The house is a real exterior filming location associated with the 1990 film. The home has also changed since filming. The Washington Post noted that the present house is not exactly as it appeared in the movie after renovations and expansion.

When was it listed, and how long did the sale take?
Realtor.com reported that the property was listed on May 24, 2024, and drew a buyer within a week. The deal nevertheless took more than seven months to close, with the sale reported in January 2025.
Who bought the house?
The buyer’s identity was not readily available in Realtor.com’s January 16, 2025 report, so a buyer name is not established by the cited reporting. Buyer’s agent Lori Nieman told Mansion Global, in comments carried by Realtor.com, that the buyers wanted “to be stewards of the home for a long time to come.”

FOX 32 and Realtor.com reported that the property sold for $1.585 million in 2012. Comparing that nominal price with the 2025 closing does not account for the 2018 renovation and expansion or other factors, so it should not be treated as a measure of investment return.
