Home Depot’s 2026 Halloween collection gives its returning 12-foot Skelly a separate app-controlled version with customizable head and mouth movements, Bluetooth voice use, up to 30 recorded sounds and 20 LCD LifeEyes effects. The update is distinct from the original 12-foot model, which remains listed separately. New companions include an 11-foot LED Mummy, an 8-foot Perilous Plant Monster, a talking parrot and an animated pixie.
What’s new on the 12-foot Skelly?
Home Depot announced its 2026 Halloween collection on July 15, with online and app availability beginning July 16 and store rollout planned for later in August, according to its collection announcement. The headline change is a new app-controlled version of the returning 12-foot figure.
Home Depot says the upgraded Skelly uses servo motors for customized head and mouth movements. Its app connects over Bluetooth, allowing real-time voice use through the animatronic; owners can also record up to 30 sounds and choose among 20 LCD LifeEyes effects. These are manufacturer-stated capabilities, not an independent performance test.
How do the original and app-controlled Skelly differ?
They are separate listings and models, not simply two names for the same product. Home Depot’s listing snapshot accessed October 4, 2026 showed the original at $299 and the app-controlled version at $379. The available information does not provide a full side-by-side specification sheet for the two models. In particular, do not assume the older model’s accessories work with the new one. A previous Home Depot article described a scary head, accessory kit, eye kit and servo version, and said the eye kit fit all Skelly models; that historical statement does not establish compatibility with every current accessory or the 2026 app-controlled model. Check the exact product listing before buying. Home Depot’s earlier accessory feature.
