That was $2.6 million below its original asking price, but the reported sale price was still above the couple’s reported 2020 purchase price. The available figures therefore show a large gap from the first asking price—not a proven overall financial loss.

Realtor.com reported that the home sold for $4 million, with a closing date of Nov. 6, 2025, based on property records. The Real Deal also reported a $4 million sale. Realtor.com’s Nov. 10, 2025 report and The Real Deal’s Nov. 7, 2025 report describe the transaction.
How far below the asking price did it sell?
Realtor.com says the home was first listed in July 2024 for $6.6 million, then reduced to $4.2 million in September 2025 before selling for $4 million.

The sale was $2.6 million below the original asking price and $200,000 below the later asking price. Those are comparisons with asking prices, not measures of loss against what the owners paid or what they spent on the property.

Was the sale price below what the Lowes paid?
No, not on the reported purchase and sale figures alone. Reports differ slightly on the 2020 purchase price: Realtor.com and Architectural Digest’s 2020 report put it at $3.75 million, while The Real Deal reports $3.8 million, citing property records.

Why the reported prices do not prove a net profit or loss
A complete result would require more than the purchase and sale prices. The cited coverage does not establish renovation spending, ownership and carrying costs, financing or mortgage payoff, broker fees, taxes, or other transaction costs. Without those figures, neither a specific net loss nor a net profit can be calculated from the reported numbers.
It is accurate to say the home sold well below its initial asking price. It is not accurate to treat that list-to-sale gap as proof that Lowe and Berkoff lost money overall: the reported sale price was nominally above either reported purchase price, while the full costs of ownership and sale are not established.
