WIRED’s Cyber Monday grill roundup was published December 1, 2025. Its listed deals are historical—not current 2026 offers—and should not be used as today’s prices without checking retailers. The roundup highlighted pellet grills and smokers from Traeger, Recteq and Brisk It, plus MEATER wireless thermometers.
What the 2025 roundup featured
WIRED’s December 1, 2025 article by Martin Cizmar covered these grills and accessories. Its recommendations and product details reflect that article; they are not a new side-by-side test or independent verification of manufacturer specifications.

Historical prices are not current deals
The roundup reported the Traeger Woodridge Pro at $1,000 at Home Depot and also listed an Amazon price. It gave the Brisk It Zelos-450 prices of $340 on Amazon and $296 at Walmart. Those are December 2025 observations, not present-day quotes.
For the Recteq Flagship 1600, the article’s prose cited $1,250, while its product card showed $1,350 at Recteq. WIRED’s page therefore contains two different historical figures; neither should be treated as a definitive or current price. It also discussed MEATER offers, but the reviewed material does not establish a comparable price to report here.

How to use the list when shopping now
Start with the grill format and the work you expect it to do. The pellet grills in the roundup are distinct from a kettle-shaped grill, while the MEATER products are accessories rather than grills. For the Flagship 1600, WIRED’s stated grate area, full-hopper run time, Wi-Fi and temperature ceiling offer useful specifications to verify against the current manufacturer listing.
- Check the retailer’s live listing for price, stock, delivery and model name; a past Cyber Monday discount does not establish a current offer.
- Confirm specifications with the manufacturer before comparing cooking area, maximum temperature, hopper capacity or connectivity across models.
- Compare like with like: WIRED did not provide a controlled test or a complete set of matching specifications for every grill in its roundup.
- For wireless thermometers, confirm probe compatibility and operating limits for the specific model you are considering.
Why the date matters
Cizmar’s line, “The best bargain in barbecue right now is also on sale,” referred to the article’s publication context on December 1, 2025. It does not describe today’s market. The roundup remains useful as a record of which products WIRED highlighted that Cyber Monday, but its prices, stock claims and deal language are time-bound.
