For this hardwood-floor guide, RTINGS names the Roborock Saros 10R its overall pick and the Roborock Q7 M5 its cheap pick. The five models span premium automation to basic scheduled cleaning, but the right choice depends on more than hard-floor pickup: consider rugs, low furniture, thresholds, cords, mopping needs, and how much maintenance you want to do yourself.
RTINGS says it has tested more than 95 robot vacuums and updated its hardwood-floor recommendations on August 7, 2026. The rankings below reflect that publisher’s recommendations, not a universal verdict or first-hand testing for this article. See RTINGS’ hardwood-floor guide.
The five best robot vacuums for hardwood floors
Hard-floor performance is only one part of the decision. A robot that picks up dust well may still struggle with pet hair on carpet, cords, or sticky spills. Use the trade-offs below to match a model to your layout and upkeep preferences.
1. Roborock Saros 10R: Best overall in RTINGS’ guide
The Saros 10R is the premium choice for homes that can make use of its navigation, furniture clearance, and dock automation. RTINGS praises its pickup of fine and larger debris, edge and corner cleaning, obstacle avoidance, and threshold handling. Twin rotating mop pads add routine floor mopping, while the split brushroll is designed to resist tangles. Its front-mounted sensors help it fit under low furniture.
The main compromise is carpet pet-hair pickup, which RTINGS identifies as a weakness. Its premium positioning also makes it a less obvious fit if you need only basic hardwood cleaning.

2. Roborock Qrevo Curv: Upper mid-range alternative
RTINGS reports hard-floor pickup comparable to the Saros 10R. The Qrevo Curv’s wheels can climb thresholds up to 4 cm, and an extendable side brush and mop pad help reach edges and corners. Its dock empties the robot, refills water, and washes and dries the mop pads.
It may miss electrical cords, so tidy the floor before a run if loose cables are common. RTINGS also notes weak carpet pet-hair pickup; check carpet performance as well as hardwood results if your rooms mix surfaces.

3. MOVA P50 Pro Ultra: Mid-range pick
RTINGS says the P50 Pro Ultra collects nearly all fine dust and larger debris in a single pass and performs well at edges and corners. Its dock handles bin emptying and mop maintenance, reducing routine hands-on work.

The raised LiDAR sensor can limit access under low furniture. Its spinning pads suit routine upkeep better than dried-on or sticky messes, and hair can still wrap around the brushroll.
4. MOVA P10 Pro Ultra: Budget pick
The P10 Pro Ultra is aimed at everyday cleaning in mostly hard-floor homes. RTINGS describes strong obstacle avoidance and a multifunction dock, but says its hard-floor cleaning is less thorough than the P50 Pro Ultra, with fine debris left near edges.

5. Roborock Q7 M5: Cheap pick
The Q7 M5 picks up most hardwood debris, including larger particles, according to RTINGS. It has quiet operation, long battery life, app scheduling, and a static mop pad for light everyday marks.

Its dock only recharges the robot. You must empty the bin, wash the pad, and refill water yourself. The static pad does not actively scrub, and the robot does not recognize small obstacles such as cords and toys, so clear the floor before starting a run.

Prioritize debris pickup at edges
Look for evidence about both fine dust and larger particles, including how a robot handles edges and corners. A suction-pressure figure alone does not establish how well a model picks up debris from hardwood.

Match navigation to the layout
Check clearance under your furniture, the height of thresholds, and whether cords or toys are likely to be left on the floor. Obstacle avoidance differs by model: for example, RTINGS warns that the Qrevo Curv may miss electrical cords, while the Q7 M5 does not recognize small obstacles.
Account for rugs and other flooring
For hardwood-to-rug layouts, consider carpet pickup and whether the robot lifts its mop pads when crossing rugs. Strong hardwood results do not establish strong carpet pet-hair pickup: RTINGS identifies that as a weakness for both the Saros 10R and Qrevo Curv, and describes the P10 Pro Ultra as less suited to mixed surfaces.

Tom’s Guide says its robot-vacuum process includes debris pickup on hardwood and carpet, then navigation, obstacle avoidance, and coverage in a tester’s home over weeks of testing. Choose the level of mopping and maintenance you want
A multifunction dock can reduce routine bin and mop handling, while a recharge-only dock leaves more work to you. Mopping systems also differ: spinning pads support routine upkeep, while the Q7 M5’s static pad is for light everyday marks rather than active scrubbing. Neither setup guarantees removal of dried-on or sticky spills.
Can a robot vacuum mop hardwood floors?
It can be appropriate on some hardwood, but floor finish and water control matter. ECOVACS recommends gentle brushes and checking that mop water is controlled so the floor is not soaked. Dreame distinguishes sealed hardwood, which it says can handle damp mopping, from unsealed or waxed wood, where moisture may enter through gaps in the finish. Its guidance is to mop lightly or dry-vacuum until the floor is confirmed sealed. These are manufacturer recommendations, not independent guarantees for every robot or floor.
Follow the flooring manufacturer’s care instructions and the robot’s manual. If you are unsure whether the finish is sealed, use dry vacuuming until you can confirm the appropriate care method.
