Inside Monaco’s Tour Odéon Sky Penthouse: The $387 Million Claim, Explained

The Tour Odéon Sky Penthouse is described as a 35,000–35,500-square-foot residence with luxury amenities. Its widely repeated $387 million figure was a prospective price, not a verified sale.

The Tour Odéon Sky Penthouse in Monaco was associated with a reported $387 million prospective price in coverage from the mid-2010s. That figure is not a verified sale price or a current valuation. Reports describe a vast, multi-level residence with five bedrooms, a cinema, sauna and outdoor pool, though they disagree on whether it spans four or five floors.

What is the Tour Odéon Sky Penthouse?

The Sky Penthouse is a private residence atop Tour Odéon, a high-rise residential building in Monaco. Its defining feature is its scale: Sotheby’s described it in 2016 as 35,000 square feet, while Complex gave a figure of 35,500 square feet in 2014. Those are reported measurements, not a single consistently stated specification. Sotheby’s, 2016; Complex, 2014

Accounts also differ on the number of levels. Sotheby’s and Complex describe five floors or storeys, while Fraser Yachts describes a four-floored penthouse. The available descriptions do not explain the discrepancy, so the precise floor count is uncertain. Fraser Yachts

What is inside the penthouse?

Published descriptions emphasize amenities designed for private living and entertaining rather than documenting a complete room-by-room plan.

  • Five bedrooms: Fraser Yachts lists five bedrooms.
  • Kitchens across the levels: Fraser Yachts describes a kitchen on every floor.
  • Private cinema: Fraser Yachts and Complex both mention a home or private cinema.
  • Sauna: Listed by Fraser Yachts and Complex.
  • Outdoor pool and waterslide: Fraser Yachts describes an outdoor pool; Complex specifically reports an infinity pool with a waterslide.

These feature descriptions come from published coverage and a yacht-sales listing; they should not be treated as a current inventory or confirmation that every feature remains in place. Fraser Yachts; Complex

Who designed the interiors?

Sotheby’s reported in 2016 that Alberto Pinto Interior Design outfitted the penthouse. The source establishes that design attribution, but it does not provide a full construction specification, materials schedule or detailed account of the design process. Sotheby’s, 2016

Was it really worth or sold for $387 million?

The $387 million figure was reported as a prospective or asking-price claim, not as a confirmed transaction. Sotheby’s reported in 2016 that the residence was reportedly set to go on the market at that price; Complex had used the figure in 2014, and Forbes repeated it in 2018. None of those reports establishes that a buyer paid $387 million. Sotheby’s, 2016; Complex, 2014; Forbes, 2018

A later figure adds important context. Coldwell Banker Global Luxury’s State of Luxury Report 2019 included the Sky Penthouse at $330 million among its global listings for 2018. That is a reported listing entry, not proof of a completed sale or a current market value. Coldwell Banker Global Luxury, State of Luxury Report 2019

Accordingly, the “world’s most expensive” label belongs to historical coverage and should not be read as a current ranking. The material cited here does not verify whether the penthouse sold, who owns it now, whether it is currently available, or what it would be worth today.
