Jeddah Tower is under construction again, but it is not yet the world’s tallest building. New Atlas reported on August 4, 2026, that the tower had reached 430 metres (1,410 feet) and 107 floors. Its owner, Kingdom Holding Company, describes a planned structure more than 1,000 metres (3,280 feet) tall; that target remains a plan, not a completed height.
How tall is Jeddah Tower now?
In its August 4, 2026 update, New Atlas reported that Jeddah Tower had reached 430 metres (1,410 feet) and 107 floors. The article attributed the floor milestone to Al Waleed bin Talal, identified as Kingdom Holding Company chairman and project developer. These are dated reported progress figures, not a live measurement.
| Measure | Reported figure | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Construction height | 430 m (1,410 ft), New Atlas, August 4, 2026 | Dated progress report |
| Floors reached | 107, New Atlas, August 4, 2026 | Milestone attributed by New Atlas to Al Waleed bin Talal |
| Planned height | More than 1,000 m (3,280 ft), Kingdom Holding Company project page | Owner-stated target, not an as-built result |
New Atlas said roughly 570 metres remained to the planned height. Because the owner’s target is expressed as more than 1,000 metres, that remaining-distance figure should be read as the article’s estimate against the project’s intended height, not a precise final measurement.
What is Jeddah Tower?
The project owner, Kingdom Holding Company, calls it Jeddah Economic Company Tower. JEC Tower and Jeddah Tower are also used. The building is planned for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as the centerpiece of Jeddah Economic City. Its more-than-1,000-metre target would make it the project’s challenger for the world’s tallest-building title; the evidence here supports that as an ambition, not a current record.

A January 23, 2025 New Atlas article reported concrete being poured on the 64th floor. That milestone is historical: the 2026 report’s 107-floor figure is the later dated update.
What will the tower contain?
The owner describes a mixed-use building with a Four Seasons hotel, apartments, office space, luxury condominiums and an observatory intended to overlook the Red Sea. New Atlas’s 2026 report adds detail to the plan, including a 200-room luxury hotel, service apartments, residences, viewing points and a helicopter pad.

How is the tower designed to work at this height?
New Atlas identifies Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill as the designers and reports a design of at least 157 floors and 59 elevators. Those are planned design figures, not confirmed completed counts. Its 2026 report describes lower-level offices, a hotel, a sky lobby, residences and viewing points among the proposed program.

The engineering challenge is not simply adding floors. New Atlas quoted structural engineering firm Thornton Tomasetti describing two key concerns: “First, we had to determine rational design wind loads at extreme elevations. Second, we had to control building movements, both lateral and vertical, over time.” The firm said its team used computational structural modeling and extensive wind-tunnel testing, working with Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill and RWDI. This is the firm’s account of its approach, as quoted by New Atlas, rather than an independent evaluation of completed performance.

New Atlas’s August 4, 2026 report gives 2028 as the expected completion year. The same year appeared in its January 2025 report, but an expected date is not a guaranteed deadline. Kingdom Holding Company’s reviewed project page does not establish an opening date.
