Gluing small assemblies
Use the holder to maintain alignment while adhesive sets on trim samples, model parts, brackets or other small components. Protect finished surfaces from jaw marks and keep uncured adhesive away from the joint and magnets.
Painting and detail work
A fixed position can make detail painting easier on small parts. Mask or pad contact areas if the workpiece must remain blemish-free, and do not assume the holder will resist brush or tool forces beyond the maker’s stated specifications.

How to assess fit before purchase
- Measure the part. Compare its gripping area with the 14 mm stated opening, allowing room for pads or protective material.
- Identify the force direction. Light soldering, gluing and painting loads are different from drilling, cutting or levering. The available material does not state a load capacity for those heavier operations.
- Check the contact surface. Parallel jaws may hold flat or regularly shaped edges more predictably than tapered, soft or irregular surfaces.
- Confirm your workspace. The Shop listing gives a 90 × 160 mm plate; verify that dimension and whether the four magnetic feet are included in your regional package.

Do not judge a third hand by the number of joints alone. Compare the specifications that determine whether it suits your work:

Setup and maintenance considerations
Positioning
Place the steel base on a clean, flat bench, attach the magnetic feet or clips supplied with your package, and orient the ball joint so the workpiece sits close to the base rather than extending far out as a lever. Tighten or seat the joint according to Omnifixo’s manual before applying hand pressure.
Surface and contamination control
Keep filings, abrasive dust, flux and wet adhesive away from magnetic contact faces and moving parts. Wipe the base and clips after use; use removable protective pads where a finished surface could be scratched.
