The YEEUU K1 is a smart key-storage lockbox, not a complete smart door lock. It controls access to a physical key using fingerprints, codes, an app and Bluetooth; a visitor then removes the key and unlocks the property’s existing door manually. The K1 is documented in older product material, but its current official availability is unverified: YEEUU’s present lockbox catalog emphasizes the K2 and K4 instead.
What the K1 actually is
The K1 is designed for homes, vacation rentals, offices, contractors and property managers who need to hand over a physical key without meeting the visitor. An authorized user opens the box, takes the key, unlocks the door and returns the key afterward.
That makes “smart door lock” an imprecise description. The K1 does not replace a deadbolt, cylinder or handle, does not unlock the door directly, and does not inherently report whether the door is locked. Its purpose is controlled key exchange. - Permanent permissions for trusted users.
- Temporary or time-limited permissions.
- Dynamic codes described in older coverage as valid for about five minutes.
Published material describes capacity for up to 50 fingerprints. The manual also discusses combined code and fingerprint capacity, but the marketing wording is not sufficiently precise to treat every capacity figure as an independently verified specification.

Typical rental workflow
- Install the box and place the property key inside.
- Add the guest, contractor or family member in the YEEUU app.
- Create a temporary, permanent or dynamic credential.
- Send the access instructions.
- The visitor opens the box, removes the key and unlocks the existing door.
- After use, the visitor returns the key and the owner revokes or changes the credential.
Bluetooth access normally requires the user to be near the box. Internet-based operation is a separate question and may require a compatible bridge, Wi-Fi, internet service and a functioning vendor cloud. “Remote access” should not be read as a guarantee of unlocking from anywhere without additional hardware.

Choose a lockbox when you need reversible key sharing and cannot or do not want to change the door. Choose a complete smart lock when you need direct phone control, auto-locking, scheduled door permissions or reliable door-status information.

Documented hardware and security considerations
Battery and emergency access
The K1 uses three AAA batteries. Older coverage estimates more than 12 months of life, but actual runtime depends on usage, temperature, battery quality, wireless activity and repeated fingerprint attempts. The article and user materials describe emergency USB-C power for a depleted battery; verify the connector on the exact hardware revision before buying a used unit. Keep replacement batteries available and test the emergency procedure before relying on the box.
Failed-attempt lockout
The manual states that access is disabled after 15 failed fingerprint attempts or six failed code attempts. Older coverage describes a 15-minute lockout when thresholds are reached within five minutes, but the timing should be confirmed from the manual for the specific unit.

Encryption and audit claims
Older promotional coverage attributes 128-bit AES encryption to the product. That is a manufacturer or promotional claim, not an independent security audit. No audit results, threat model, firmware-support policy, vulnerability-disclosure process or proof of continuing K1 cloud support are established by that coverage.
Older articles also describe app records for access time, method, alarms and failed attempts. The current YEEUU app listing confirms ecosystem features such as opening records and family-member management, but it does not prove that every K1 function remains compatible. The app identifies the former Ujia brand as “Ujia Smart by YEEUU” and was listed as updated July 17, 2024: Google Play listing.

Installation: permanent or temporary
Fixed mounting
Supplied mounting options include screw-on and bolt-through or expansion-bolt installation. Security depends on the substrate, anchors, screws and location. Thin trim, weak siding, loose railings and removable door components can be attacked or removed even when the electronics work perfectly.
Shackle mounting
A steel shackle can attach the box to a doorknob or handle for temporary use. Check handle shape, shackle clearance and whether the handle can be removed or bypassed. A hanging box is also more exposed to cutting, prying and tampering, and may be restricted by a landlord, building manager, hotel or homeowners association. Failure modes to plan for
- Dead batteries: replace them at the first low-power warning and confirm emergency power with the exact unit.
- Guest cannot open it: check the credential type and expiry, Bluetooth range, battery condition, dry fingerprint placement, account pairing and whether the device was reset. The manual recommends checking or reseating batteries, confirming the credential and ensuring the finger is dry: manual.
- Lost phone: revoke app access where possible, delete temporary credentials and review logs. The exact K1 recovery process should be verified rather than assumed.
- Internet outage: local Bluetooth operation may continue, while cloud synchronization, remote commands and notifications may fail.
- Leaked code: guests can photograph or share it. Use a unique code per stay and revoke it afterward.
- Copied physical key: a lockbox cannot tell you that a visitor retained, photographed or duplicated the key.
- Physical attack: encryption and biometrics do not stop prying, cutting, shimming, hammering or removal of the mount.
- Vendor shutdown: a discontinued device can become difficult to manage if its app, cloud service or replacement parts disappear.
Weather and outdoor use
The older K1 campaign material makes an IP43 weather-resistance claim: campaign page. Do not transfer the current K4’s IP65 claim to the K1. Confirm the rating of the original unit and protect it from exposure beyond its documented design.
Is the K1 still available?
The current YEEUU lockbox collection lists the K2 and K4, while the K1 appears mainly in older documentation and campaign material: current collection. The original product article was modified May 4, 2020. Its stated price of ₹8,189,000 is not credible as written and should be treated as a transcription, formatting or currency error, not a usable retail price.
There is no verified current authorized K1 sales channel in the available official material. A marketplace listing may be old stock, a different hardware revision or a unit tied to another account.

YEEUU’s broader catalog also includes cylinders, deadbolts, handles and knobs. Those are the better category when the requirement is direct door control rather than physical-key storage. Prices and stock vary by region, configuration, tax, shipping and date.

Checklist before buying a used K1
- Install the current YEEUU/Ujia app and confirm account pairing in your region.
- Have the seller remove the device from their account and demonstrate a factory reset.
- Test fingerprint enrollment, code creation and local Bluetooth operation.
- Inspect the battery compartment and emergency-power port.
- Confirm all mounting hardware and the actual hardware revision.
- Check whether the app, cloud functions and replacement support still work.
- Verify the box’s dimensions, shackle fit and mounting surface.
Bottom line
The K1 is a genuine and useful concept for temporary physical-key handoff, but it is not a smart deadbolt and should not be marketed as one. Its electronic claims come from older product material, its current official availability is unverified, and its long-term app and cloud support are important risks. For a new purchase, compare supported YEEUU models—especially the K4 for the published outdoor rating—or choose a complete smart lock if you need the door itself to unlock and report status. Buy a used K1 only after testing pairing, reset, batteries, emergency power, credentials and support.
