It’s usually called a porte-cochère (also written porte cochere): a covered entrance where vehicles can drive underneath or pull through to drop off passengers. If the cover shelters only a pedestrian doorway and cars do not pass beneath it, entrance canopy is usually the clearer term.
How to tell which term fits

Why it is called a porte-cochère
The term is connected to carriage access. A Québec government glossary defines porte cochère as a door closing a carriage passage and, by extension, the passage itself; its accompanying note explains the original horse-and-carriage function. Office québécois de la langue française.
What to call it in ordinary conversation
For the covered drive-up drop-off at a hotel, porte-cochère is the most specific choice. If you are unsure whether the structure forms a vehicle passage, covered hotel entrance is clear; use canopy for a simpler roof over a pedestrian entrance. A structure can have a portico-like architectural design as well, but the vehicle passage is what makes porte-cochère the useful term for the drop-off.
