Savaria Elevator Troubleshooting: Safe Checks and When to Call a Dealer

A stalled Savaria elevator calls for model-specific checks, not guesswork. Learn what Eclipse Micro-6 and Zenith short-beep codes mean and when to call a dealer.

If a Savaria home elevator will not move, identify its exact model and use that model’s owner manual before trying anything. On the Eclipse Micro-6 and Zenith, a few short-beep codes point to limited checks such as confirming the stop switch is in Run or that a gate or door is closed. Long-beep service codes and unresolved problems belong with an authorized Savaria dealer—not a homeowner repair attempt.

Start with the model and its owner manual

Savaria makes multiple elevator and lift models, and their controls, codes, and emergency procedures are not interchangeable. Find the product name and, if available, its serial or job number. Use Savaria’s document library to locate the manual for the installed model; do not apply a code or reset procedure from another unit.

If you do not know who installed the elevator or cannot identify the right contact, Savaria’s service page explains how to seek help, including for older products. Have the model and serial or job number available when contacting the dealer.

Try only the manual-listed checks

For the Eclipse Micro-6 and Zenith, the manuals describe short-beep user codes that may indicate a limited external check. These instructions apply to those models; consult the correct manual for its code table and directions.

Short-beep code Manual-listed check
One short beep Make sure the car’s Stop switch is in Run and check that the car gate is closed.
Two short beeps Check that the landing door is closed.
Three short beeps Manually open and close the gate.

Keep checks to what the manual explicitly permits. Do not force a door, bypass a switch, enter the hoistway, or interfere with a safety feature. If the listed check does not resolve the problem, stop and contact the dealer.

Treat long-beep codes as service calls

The Eclipse Micro-6 and Zenith manuals classify codes beginning with a two-second long beep as service codes and instruct owners to contact an authorized Savaria dealer. Their listed causes include overload, run-timer, safety-chain, door-lock, re-level, low-pressure, selector, and position faults. These labels help describe the issue to a technician; they are not repair instructions.

Savaria directs owners to the dealer that installed the product. For an out-of-warranty elevator, contact the purchase dealer or Savaria to locate a dealer in your area. Savaria says it provides technical support and sells parts only through authorized dealers, citing the technical complexity and safety concerns involved.

Do not assume a power-failure procedure applies

Savaria’s general home-elevator information describes battery-operated lowering during a power failure and a blue controller reset button for an elevator that stops working. Those general descriptions do not establish that either procedure applies to every model or installation. Follow the installed unit’s manual and dealer guidance; never defeat locks or safety interlocks.

The Zenith manual illustrates why model-specific guidance matters: it says the overspeed governor may trip after a power failure and directs the owner to contact an authorized dealer for assistance. Do not substitute a generic reset for the procedure in the correct manual.

Ask whether remote fault review is available

Savaria Link connects a compatible product over home Wi-Fi to software the installing dealer can access. According to Savaria’s Savaria Link information, the dealer may be able to review a fault remotely, guide the owner through a reset or a simple correction such as closing an open gate, or prepare for a service call with parts. Link is described as an upgrade available on most products, not every product; ask the installing dealer whether it is available and compatible with your unit.

What to tell the dealer

To help the dealer assess the issue, share the product model, serial or job number if available, what happened before the elevator stopped, and any beep pattern or displayed fault. Note which manual-listed external check you performed and whether it changed the symptom. Do not attempt additional diagnosis or repair while waiting for service.
