Impulse Labs Expands Its Ultra-Fast Cooktop Technology Through Appliance Partners

Impulse Labs’ battery-backed induction platform is reaching appliance partners, while its own cooktop requires careful planning for cutout, power, cookware and oven clearance.

Impulse Labs’ cooktop story now extends beyond its own 30- and 36-inch induction models: the company says its battery-backed Impulse Core technology is being used in products with Zephyr, THOR Kitchen and Italy’s BS Service Group. For homeowners and builders, the practical questions are what the cooktop requires, whether it fits the planned cabinetry and oven, and which partner products are actually available to buy.

What is new about Impulse Labs’ cooktop platform?

Impulse sells a four-burner induction cooktop with an integrated 3 kWh battery. Its product page lists up to 10 kW peak power per burner and active temperature sensing that adjusts power to maintain a set cooking temperature. These are manufacturer specifications and claims, not independent test results. The company describes its 30-inch and 36-inch versions as having identical performance; the widths accommodate different countertop cutouts. Impulse Cooktop product details.

The broader change is that Impulse Core is no longer limited to Impulse-branded cooktops. On April 21, 2026, Impulse named Zephyr HyperCore, a THOR Kitchen range line under development, and Eximius, developed with BS Service Group (BSSG), as partner extensions of its technology. That signals expansion of the platform, but the announcement does not make every named product currently orderable. Impulse’s Eximius and partner announcement.

What the company says about speed

Impulse’s product page compares the cooktop’s one-liter boil time of under 40 seconds with 2.5 minutes for induction and 6 minutes for gas. The page does not provide an independent comparison protocol, so treat those as company-reported figures rather than a controlled head-to-head result.

Which partner products are involved?

Partner or product What Impulse announced Availability qualification
Zephyr HyperCore Impulse says it is in more than 300 showrooms nationwide. The showroom count is Impulse-reported in its April 21, 2026 announcement; check the partner or retailer for current local availability.
THOR Kitchen range line Impulse says THOR Kitchen is developing a range line for major U.S. retailers. Development and retail plans are not confirmation that a model is currently for sale.
Eximius by Uniqa / BSSG A four-zone flat-top induction cooktop built on Impulse Core. Impulse says BSSG will manufacture it under the Uniqa brand in Fabriano, Italy. Impulse described European pre-orders as expected later in 2026, with a U.S. introduction planned afterward. These are plans, not proof of current availability.

Impulse founder and CEO Sam D’Amico said in an August 12, 2025 update that the company was ramping production for its own cooktop and partner products. That earlier statement describes the company’s plans at that time; the later partner announcement supplies the named examples. Impulse’s August 12, 2025 customer-shipment update.

What should builders and homeowners check before specifying the cooktop?

Countertop cutout and cabinet plan

Choose the 30-inch or 36-inch model according to the kitchen layout and its required cutout, rather than expecting a performance difference between them. The integrated battery extends 6.5 inches below the counter. Impulse says that clearance and ventilation can constrain an oven below: most 24-inch ovens and some 30-inch models may fit, but the actual oven and cooktop installation specifications must be checked together. This is a coordination item for cabinet drawings and appliance selection, not a detail to leave until installation.

  • PORTABLE INDUCTION BURNER: Duxtop induction cooktop uses 110/120 V 15 amp electrical outlet–standard in all North American homes. ETL listed and built to North American electrical standards. It is lightweight and compact for easy handling and storage
  • Choose from 20 preset power levels (100 to 1800 W) and 20 preset temperature level settings (100 °F to 460 °F). With an 83% energy efficiency, induction burner is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves
  • DIGITAL LCD SENSOR: Touch control panel: child safety lock keeps the cooking and timer settings from being accidentally changed once they have been set; fast boil button; keep warm button (for 1-30 minutes at 140 °F); up to 10-hour timer button
  • Induction stoves rely on cookware to heat, so it’s essential to choose magnetic bottom cookware with a minimum diameter of 5 inches. Auto-pan detection will shut off automatically after 60 seconds if no cookware, or the incorrect cookware is detected
  • Although induction itself is a noiseless process, there may be high pitched sounds from the cookware due to multiple layers of metals sandwiched together. Please allow the induction cooker to cool down before cleaning

Electrical connection

Impulse says the cooktop supports 120 V or 240 V and requires a 15 A minimum breaker. It describes 120 V connection to an outlet and 240 V installation on an existing cooktop connection as options. Confirm the project’s actual circuit, outlet, local requirements and installation instructions with a qualified electrician; the product-page summary is not a substitute for the installation specification.

Cookware and operating controls

Induction-compatible cookware is necessary. Impulse’s quick check is to see whether a magnet sticks to the pan; it recommends tri-ply or five-ply stainless steel when using temperature mode. The cooktop has removable magnetic knobs, LED burner rings and a display, according to the manufacturer. It uses Wi-Fi for software updates, while Impulse says cooking remains possible without Wi-Fi.

How is the product changing after shipment?

Impulse announced first customer shipments on August 12, 2025 and said it was ramping production. Its official release notes show continuing software releases, including version 1.3.0 dated August 24, 2026, with display-performance improvements and firmware reliability refinements. Earlier 2026 entries mention cookware detection, navigation, pan detection and active power management. Release notes establish that updates are issued; they do not independently establish reliability or performance outcomes. Impulse Labs release notes.

What the expansion means for a construction project

For a new build or kitchen renovation, the strongest reason to track Impulse is not the word “ultra-fast” on its own; it is the combined effect of electrical planning, battery depth, ventilation and oven compatibility. Confirm those constraints before cabinetry and appliance rough-in are finalized. If evaluating a partner product instead, verify the exact model, market, retailer and installation documentation: an announced collaboration or planned launch is not the same as a released appliance.
