EGGER has acquired 100% of Italian recycled-wood company Lenocart S.r.l., strengthening its Timberpak collection network around Milan. The transaction was completed on 28 July 2026, according to Woodworking Network, and EGGER listed the acquisition publicly on 2 September 2026. Lenocart’s operation is expected to supply EGGER’s Caorso plant, where particleboard is produced using 100% recycled wood.
What EGGER bought
EGGER purchased all shares in Lenocart S.r.l., a recycling business located in the Milan metropolitan area. This is a full-company acquisition rather than a minority investment. EGGER described the deal as another expansion of its international collection-site network operating under the Timberpak brand.

Why the Milan location matters
EGGER says the Milan region offers significant potential for collecting recycled wood. Adding an established local operator gives Timberpak a physical presence in a major Italian metropolitan area and can shorten the distance between discarded wood and the company’s recycling chain.
Lenocart collects, sorts and prepares recycled wood for further processing. In practice, that means material is gathered from local sources, separated into usable streams and conditioned before delivery to an EGGER manufacturing site. The acquisition therefore expands collection capacity as well as EGGER’s control over the upstream logistics needed to secure recycled feedstock.
Where Lenocart’s material will go
EGGER says Lenocart will supply its Caorso plant. The company states that Caorso makes particleboard from 100% recycled wood. Lenocart’s role is consequently tied directly to the raw-material supply for a specific manufacturing operation, rather than being a standalone recycling investment with no identified downstream destination.

How this fits EGGER’s Timberpak model
Timberpak is EGGER’s collection-site network for recovered wood. Sites collect material, sort it and prepare it for use in EGGER plants. By adding Lenocart, EGGER extends that model into the Milan area and adds another route for supplying recycled wood to manufacturing.

The strategic logic is circular: material recovered in the region is processed for use in a board plant, reducing reliance on virgin wood for that production stream. The available statements establish the intended collection and supply relationship; they do not quantify emissions reductions, cost savings or the post-acquisition increase in total EGGER capacity.
How this compares with EGGER’s earlier Italian investment
EGGER’s Lenocart transaction should not be conflated with its earlier Cartfer Urbania deal. In an 11 April 2024 press-release listing, EGGER described Cartfer Urbania as a majority-stake investment. Lenocart, by contrast, involves 100% of the company’s shares.

What the acquisition means for construction-material supply
For manufacturers and contractors that specify wood-based panels, the immediate significance is supply-chain integration rather than a newly announced product line. EGGER is adding a Milan-area source of recovered wood to support production at Caorso. No change to panel specifications, pricing, customer allocations or certification requirements was announced with the acquisition.
The transaction also illustrates why recycling infrastructure matters to engineered-wood production: reliable collection, sorting, preparation and transport are prerequisites for maintaining a recycled-feedstock manufacturing process at scale.
