Burj Azizi is a planned 725-metre (about 2,379-foot) skyscraper on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road. If it is completed at that height, it is projected to rank as the world’s second-tallest building—but it is not a completed record-holder today. The latest dated update here is a 2026 supplier announcement, not confirmation of construction progress or a new completion date.
How tall is Burj Azizi, and what is its projected ranking?
The reported design height is 725 metres, or about 2,379 feet. New Atlas reported that figure in September 2024, and the Council on Vertical Urbanism’s Skyscraper Center lists 725 metres (2,379 feet). The Skyscraper Center cautions that data for projects can change before completion and ratification. New Atlas · The Skyscraper Center
“Second-tallest” is therefore a projection tied to the planned height, not a present-day ranking among completed buildings. The eventual ranking depends on the completed tower’s height and the ranking convention used.
How many floors will it have?
The sources give different figures: New Atlas reported 131 floors, while the Skyscraper Center lists 133. The available information does not resolve the discrepancy, so neither number should be treated as a settled final count.

What is planned for the tower?
Burj Azizi is described as a mixed-use development, with hotel, residential and retail space. KONE’s October 1, 2026 announcement, confirming its selection to provide people-flow solutions, also names an observation deck, hotel lobby, nightclub and restaurant among the planned attractions. These descriptions are plans; the announcement does not establish that any facility is open, bookable or accessible to visitors. KONE announcement
What is known about construction and completion?
New Atlas reported an expected completion by 2028 in its September 2024 article. That was a forecast at the time, not a verified current handover date. KONE’s October 2026 release confirms its appointment as a project partner, but gives no construction milestone, completion schedule or public opening date. The sources available here do not establish a current floor-by-floor status or completion percentage.
