What LeafTEK is
LeafTEK is an aluminum gutter cover with raised, vented ridges. The manufacturer says the openings and airflow help water enter the gutter while discouraging debris buildup; that is a product claim, not an independently verified performance result. LeafTEK says its guard installs without going beneath roof shingles and is designed for existing 5-inch and 6-inch gutters. Its current product page lists 48-inch panels in black or white, with color-matched self-tapping stainless steel screws included. Check the selected product’s specifications and the manufacturer’s measurement guide before ordering.
LeafTEK’s 2024 press release reports 404 openings per square foot, each 1/8 inch in diameter. Those are company-published specifications, not independent measurements. In the same release, CEO and founder Dan Cash described the product as intended to reduce the time and effort of climbing onto a roof to clear gutter debris; this is a company statement, not evidence that maintenance is eliminated.
What the 2021 review found
Duvengar’s 2021 roundup described LeafTEK as lightweight, durable, easy to work with, and affordable. The reviewer said its periodic long-term checks did not find debris or clogging problems. It listed strength, ease of installation, and debris blocking among the advantages.

Does LeafTEK fit your gutters?
The manufacturer lists compatibility with existing 5-inch and 6-inch gutters. Measure your gutters rather than assuming their size, and use the current product information to confirm fit and ordering details. A listed size alone does not establish suitability for every roof edge, gutter condition, or installation layout.
How installation works
LeafTEK supplies printable installation instructions and a measurement guide. Its FAQ says each 4-foot panel should be attached with three screws through the front lip. It says two additional screws may be run through the rear flange into the fascia when the existing gutter needs to be tightened to the house. The FAQ also says a magnetic nut-setter is included in each package. Follow the latest instructions for the specific product and the conditions at your roof and gutters.

- Measure and select: Use the manufacturer’s measurement guide and confirm the gutter size before ordering.
- Review the installation layout: Read the current instructions for panel placement and fastening. LeafTEK says the product does not install beneath roof shingles.
- Secure each panel as directed: The FAQ describes three screws through the front lip for each 4-foot panel, with two optional rear-flange screws into the fascia when needed to tighten the gutter.
- Work safely: Installation involves roof-edge and ladder work. If you cannot reach or work safely, use a qualified installer rather than attempting the job yourself.
Installing without going under the shingles addresses one part of the layout; it does not guarantee that every roof manufacturer’s warranty is preserved. Roof warranty terms depend on the manufacturer and installation conditions, so check the applicable terms for your home.
Maintenance, debris, and ice dams
LeafTEK should not be treated as maintenance-free. The manufacturer FAQ says debris can remain on top of the guard and may need to be brushed or rinsed away. How often that is necessary depends partly on the type, number, and proximity of trees. The company’s warranty also excludes failure to remove debris lying on the product when removal is required.

On ice dams, LeafTEK’s FAQ says the guard will neither prevent nor cause them and attributes ice dams to inadequate attic insulation and poor ventilation. Do not rely on a gutter guard as an ice-dam remedy; roof and attic conditions require separate assessment.

LeafTEK’s current warranty page describes a lifetime material warranty and a performance guarantee against clogging and overflow caused by ordinary gutter debris when the product is installed as specified. The published guarantee is conditional, not an unconditional promise against every blockage or water problem. The warranty lists exclusions and limitations that include improper installation, certain structural or external damage, below-grade blockages, excessive heat, altered products, and failure to remove debris from the guard surface. How to judge whether LeafTEK is worth it
The 2021 review offers a favorable account of installation and debris handling, alongside concerns about seam rigidity and ridge height. It is useful as one reviewer’s experience, but it cannot establish how LeafTEK performs across different homes, weather, roof layouts, or debris conditions. Current manufacturer information adds sizing, included fasteners, maintenance guidance, and conditional warranty terms; those details should be assessed separately from the older review.
