The five products and test results behind the title “The 5 Best Spin Mops, Tested by BHG” could not be verified, so it would be misleading to invent a ranked list or attribute other reviewers’ findings to BHG. If you’re choosing a spin mop and bucket system, the most useful distinctions are how it wrings, whether it separates clean and dirty water, how its head is maintained, and whether its maker says it is suitable for your floor.
What can be verified about BHG’s five picks?
The specific products, rankings, test method, product-by-product findings, and publication or update date for the BHG article are not established here. The independent test results and manufacturer information below are useful buying context, but they are not BHG’s picks or test results.
What to compare in a spin mop and bucket system
- Wringing and moisture control: Spin mops use a bucket wringer operated by a foot pedal or a handle mechanism. Consider how much effort the mechanism takes and whether it lets you control how damp the mop becomes. Bob Vila’s independent test assessed wringer performance alongside cleaning and absorbency.
- Bucket design: A single-bucket system is a simpler arrangement; a two-bucket design separates clean and dirty water. Consider the space the bucket takes up and whether clean-water separation suits your routine. Current comparative bucket capacities and prices are not stated in the cited product information.
- Handling: Check handle adjustment, reach, maneuverability around furniture and corners, and storage dimensions. A telescoping handle alone does not establish that a mop is easy to adjust or steer.
- Head upkeep: Look for washable heads and confirm the exact replacement-head model before buying. Reusable does not mean every refill fits every spin mop.
- Floor compatibility: Verify the mop and cleaning solution against your flooring manufacturer’s care instructions. A mop maker’s compatibility statement is not a substitute for guidance for a particular floor finish.
How O-Cedar’s current spin mops differ
O-Cedar’s comparison page identifies EasyWring and RinseClean as spin mop systems. It lists H2prO separately as a flat mop with a dual tank and waterjets, so it should not be confused with a spin mop. The distinctions below reflect O-Cedar’s descriptions, not a comparative independent test.

What an independent spin-mop test found
Bob Vila describes testing six spin mops for absorbency, cleaning, wringer performance, and stuck-on messes. Its method included spilling ½ cup of water for an absorbency check and scoring each mop on a 1-to-4 scale. Those figures describe Bob Vila’s test, not BHG’s.
Bob Vila named the Tsmine Spin Mop & Bucket System its best overall, the Simpli-Magic 360 Spin Mop its best value, the Bissell SpinWave Pet Hard Floor Spin Mop an upgrade pick, and O-Cedar EasyWring best for wood floors. In its EasyWring test, the reviewer reported that it cleaned hardwood, tile, and luxury vinyl plank well, reached corners and tight spaces, and removed dried ketchup and apple juice. The same test reported that drying the mop took more than 40 foot-pedal wrings and that adjusting the telescoping handle was difficult. How to interpret claims about cleaning performance
O-Cedar says its microfiber heads remove—but do not kill—more than 99% of E. coli and Staph. aureus from prefinished hardwood and ceramic tile using tap water, based on an independent accredited lab test. That manufacturer claim is limited to the stated organisms, surfaces, and conditions; it does not establish disinfection or the same result on other floors.
O-Cedar also says its DeepClean refill offers up to 40% more cleaning power on stubborn dirt than its named standard 100% microfiber refill. The company says its internal lab compared the number of wipes needed to remove dirt. This is a manufacturer’s comparative claim, not an independent result or a general guarantee across messes and surfaces. Wash and replace the mop head correctly
O-Cedar says EasyWring and RinseClean heads can be hand-washed or machine-washed in cold or warm water. It advises against bleach and fabric softener, and recommends laying the head flat or hanging it to air-dry rather than putting it in a dryer.
