Pause the cycle and redistribute the items first. If the washer keeps shaking across different loads, check that it stands firmly on a stable floor and that its feet are set correctly. For a newly installed front-load washer, also check that the shipping bolts were removed.
What a UE or UB code means
A UE or UB code indicates that the washer detected an uneven load during spinning and stopped or reduced the spin to protect the machine. Samsung India puts it this way: “Your Samsung washing machine will display a UE / UB code when it detects an unbalanced load and stops the spin for safety reasons.” The code by itself does not identify a failed internal part.
Samsung models and regional support pages may use different code labels and instructions. Check the user manual for your exact model if the display or recommended cycle differs.
How to correct an unbalanced load
- Pause the washer. Wait until the door or lid can be opened safely.
- Spread the laundry around the drum. Untangle items that have wrapped together, then restart the cycle.
- Adjust the load if needed. A very small load may collect on one side; Samsung UK suggests adding one or two towels to help balance it. For a bulky item or tangled bedding, redistribute the load and consider selecting a lower spin speed if the cycle and care labels allow it.
- Choose a suitable cycle. Use the cycle recommended for the fabric and item type in your washer’s manual.
Follow the care labels and the capacity guidance for your specific model and cycle. Load-size figures and bedding recommendations published for particular Samsung models or regional support pages are examples, not universal limits for every Samsung washer.

Why it may keep happening
Small or unevenly distributed loads
A few items can shift together during the spin, leaving much of the drum empty on one side. Add a suitable balancing item if the manual and cycle guidance permit, or use a lower spin speed when appropriate.
Bulky or absorbent laundry
Sheets, blankets, bathrobes, or jeans can tangle or hold a lot of water, creating an uneven load. Untangle and redistribute the items; avoid forcing an unsuitable load through a high-speed spin.

Washer not level or firmly supported
If the problem happens with different, reasonably balanced loads, check the installation. The washer should stand on a stable floor without rocking, and all feet should contact the floor. Samsung’s US guidance recommends checking level and adjusting the feet as directed in the model instructions. A bubble spirit level can help with that check, but it does not diagnose an internal fault.
Shipping bolts on a newly installed front-loader
For a newly installed front-load washer, verify that the shipping bolts were removed as described in its installation guide. This check applies to front-load models; top-load washers do not use those shipping bolts.

When to contact Samsung
Contact Samsung support or request service if excessive shaking or poor spinning continues after you have redistributed the laundry and checked the installation. The exact troubleshooting steps depend on the washer model and market. A UE or UB code alone is not enough to conclude that a sensor, suspension component, bearing, or control board has failed.
