There is no verified, current national list of 12 discontinued Home Depot products on deep discount. Home Depot has an online clearance category, but a clearance listing does not establish that an item is discontinued or available at a particular store. To find a real local deal, verify the exact model, current store price and stock before making the trip.
Why a “12 discontinued products” list can’t be confirmed
Clearance and discontinued are not interchangeable. An item can appear in Home Depot’s online clearance catalog without the listing proving that the manufacturer has discontinued it, that the item is stocked nearby, or that the displayed price applies at your store.
The available evidence does not verify twelve named products as both discontinued and currently discounted. Naming twelve would risk presenting stale sightings or ordinary clearance listings as live local deals. Treat any such roundup as a lead list, not confirmation of what you can buy today.
What local clearance reports can—and can’t—tell you
A September 2026 report from myStoreAlert describes a scan covering 389 stores over 19 days. It reports different markdown patterns among categories including outdoor products, patio, tools, appliances and bath. That is a dated third-party sample, not a forecast for your store or an official Home Depot markdown schedule. The same report’s counts—564 outdoor products and 38,348 store listings—are the publisher’s scan data, not statistics published by Home Depot. See the September scan report.

Third-party clearance guides discuss price endings as possible clues to markdown stage, but those clues are not official Home Depot policy. A price-ending pattern cannot establish that an item is discontinued or that a markdown is available at a specific location. Use the current scanned or register price and store availability as the deciding information, not a rule of thumb from a guide such as YellowTag or Scavenger.
How to verify a clearance item at your store
- Find a lead. Browse Home Depot’s clearance category or use a third-party scan to identify a candidate. A listing or scan is a starting point, not proof of local stock.
- Match the exact item. Record the model number, SKU and configuration. Similar-looking models, kits and bare tools can have different prices and availability.
- Check your store’s current listing. Set the intended store and check the item’s displayed local price and pickup or delivery availability. If a third-party scan supplies the lead, confirm it against Home Depot’s current listing or directly with the store.
- Confirm before traveling. Ask the store to verify the current price and quantity for that exact item. Scanned inventory can lag, so an online count is not a guarantee that the item will still be on the shelf.
- Verify discontinued status separately. Look for an authoritative manufacturer or retailer product record identifying the exact model as discontinued. If you cannot confirm that status, call it a clearance item—not a discontinued product.
- Check the transaction details. Confirm the price at checkout and ask about applicable return terms, delivery or installation before buying; do not assume those terms from a clearance label.
What to record when comparing deals
If you are comparing several candidates, use a table like this and fill it only with details confirmed for the same store and date. A low online price without local stock is not a usable local deal.

How to read a deep-discount claim
- “Clearance” describes a listing or price status, not proof of discontinuation.
- “Available” needs a store and a recent check. Local prices and stock can change, and third-party scans may be delayed.
- A large reported markdown may describe a limited sample. For example, myStoreAlert reported a 90% median discount across 15 flooring-supply products in its 2026 scan. That is a small, publisher-defined sample—not a typical discount, a guarantee, or evidence of a price at your store. Details are in its report.
Bottom line
Use clearance lists and scan reports to find candidates, then verify each exact product, store price and stock before relying on the deal. Without that store-level check—and separate confirmation of discontinued status—there is no reliable basis for calling twelve products discontinued and deeply discounted at your Home Depot.
