Its seller says it uses ultrasonic and electromagnetic technology, but the available sources do not include a product-specific controlled test or independently verified efficacy results. That is reason for caution—not proof that the seller is running a scam.
What is the Pest Defence device?
The US-facing Pest Defence product page describes a plug-in device that uses ultrasonic and electromagnetic technology to target household pests. Those are seller descriptions, not independent verification of the device’s design or performance. The page promotes continuous use and publishes customer testimonials, but testimonials do not establish typical results or substitute for controlled testing.
Do not confuse this product page with a similarly named UK business. A response attributed to that business says it provides professional pest-management services and does not sell plug-in or ultrasonic repellers. The available sources do not identify the owner or legal entity behind the US-facing device page.
Does Pest Defence work?
The consulted sources do not establish that this particular unit reliably works. No product-specific independent controlled test, independently verified customer-review dataset, named efficacy statistic, or verified regulatory status was identified. That absence does not prove the device can never affect a pest; it means the seller’s claims cannot be treated as independently demonstrated results.

- How It Works:Our device uses cutting-edge ultrasonic waves to generate an environment that pests find highly unpleasant, gently motivating them to leave your home on their own. With regular use, it gradually reshapes pest habits, helping you enjoy a cleaner, pest-free living space—without any chemicals or harm to animals or people.
- Super Simple Setup:Just plug it into any standard wall outlet. You’ll hear a short “beep” and see a gentle pulsing blue light that confirms the unit is working. Most people start noticing fewer pests within 2–4 weeks as the unwanted visitors naturally relocate. Important: During the first 1–2 weeks you might see slightly more activity—this is normal and means pests are being encouraged to come out of hiding and leave.
- Large Coverage Zone:One unit effectively protects open areas of 800–1,200 square feet. For best performance, place one device in each room or major open space. Ultrasonic sound waves do not travel through walls or solid furniture, so multiple units are recommended for full-home protection.
- Clean & Chemical-Free Protection:Say goodbye to sprays, poisons, glue traps, and messy dead bugs. This electronic solution creates a natural sound barrier that pests prefer to avoid—no toxins, no odors, no cleanup required. A safe, family- and pet-friendly way to keep your home comfortable.
- Extremely Energy Efficient:Consumes only 3–5 watts of power (far less than a typical night light or phone charger). No batteries to replace, no maintenance—just plug in and forget. An eco-smart, low-cost way to protect your home year-round.
General expert guidance raises broader doubts about ultrasonic pest devices. In an Ask Extension response dated March 3, 2016, an expert said researchers who investigated these devices generally found they do not effectively repel or eliminate household pests. The response points to habituation—animals may become accustomed to a sound—and “sound shadows,” where reflections leave sheltered areas with less sound. This is category-level guidance, not a test of the Pest Defence model. Read the Ask Extension response on ultrasonic devices.
A separate Ask Extension answer about rat control, dated December 8, 2025, says there is little evidence that ultrasonic or electromagnetic deterrents effectively drive rodents away. It recommends the combined use of exclusion, sanitation, and trapping instead. Read the Ask Extension answer about rat control.

- 【Advanced Ultrasonic Technology】This ultrasonic pest repeller uses multi-frequency ultrasonic waves within a frequency range of 10kHz-65kHz to help create an uncomfortable environment for common indoor pests. As a pest repellent ultrasonic plug in, it supports daily pest control needs for mice, roaches, ants, spiders, mosquitoes, and more. It is a practical choice for customers looking for a mouse repellent, rodent repellent, or ultrasonic rodent repeller for indoor spaces.
- 【Safe Indoor Use & No Mess】Compared with traditional mouse traps indoor for home or chemical sprays for mice, spiders, ants, mosquitoes, and other indoor pests, this mouse repellent ultrasonic plug in helps support a cleaner home without bait, sticky boards, harsh odors, or messy cleanup. Designed for bedrooms, kitchens, living rooms, hallways, and other enclosed areas, it offers a more reassuring choice for everyday indoor use around people and pets.
- 【3 Ultrasonic Modes – Frequency & Target Pest Coverage】Easy plug-in and one-button operation. 3 professional frequency modes for precise pest repelling: Blue Mode (25-45 kHz) for mosquitoes, gnats, fruit flies; Yellow Mode (18-35 kHz) for ants, cockroaches, spiders; Red Mode (10-25 kHz) for rats, mice, large bugs. Red mode may make slight noise, use when no people/pets are indoors. No mess, full room pest protection.
- 【Wide Indoor Coverage】This mice repellent indoor device is suitable for indoor areas up to 1600 sq ft in open space. For better performance, place one unit in each room because ultrasonic waves may be blocked by walls and large furniture. It can be widely used in most indoor environments, whether at home, in the workplace, garages, basements, attics, warehouses, or other enclosed areas, helping provide effective support for a cleaner and more comfortable space.
- 【Energy-saving & 24/7 Automatic Protection】This plug-in ultrasonic device only consumes 3-5W power, saving more electricity than a desk lamp. No batteries required. Simply plug it in, and it works 24/7 all year round with no extra attention needed. It acts as an effective mice repellent and roach repellent indoor, providing steady low-power operation and reliable whole-house pest control for long-term home defense.
Is Pest Defence a scam?
The evidence available here does not establish that the current Pest Defence seller is committing fraud. A historical Federal Trade Commission decision record describes other ultrasonic pest-device advertisers whose claims lacked a reasonable basis. That is relevant background for scrutinizing broad claims in this product category; it is not proof against this seller, and it does not show that the Pest Defence unit was tested in that proceeding.
The seller’s product page states that it offers a 30-day refund. That confirms what the page says, not how consistently refunds are honored or whether checkout terms match the page. Read the current terms before buying and keep the order confirmation. Seller-published testimonials likewise do not independently demonstrate typical efficacy.

What should you make of the coverage claims?
A separate Pest Defence sales page advertises ultrasonic and electromagnetic technology, says to use one device per average room, and claims ultrasound does not pass through walls. Its feature copy says coverage is up to 800 square feet, while its FAQ says up to 800–1200 square feet. These are inconsistent seller statements, not independently verified coverage measurements. Do not treat either figure as a proven specification.
What should you use instead for mice or rats?
For rodents, Extension guidance supports addressing the conditions that let them enter and stay: close openings, reduce accessible food, and use traps where appropriate. An Ask Extension response about mice names metal screening, caulk, and a garage-door strip as possible exclusion materials, and notes that traps can be effective when properly placed. Read the Ask Extension answer about mice.
Quick Recap
- Look for entry points. Inspect likely openings and gaps where rodents could get inside. Seal suitable openings with materials such as metal screening or caulk; a garage-door strip may help address a gap beneath a door.
- Reduce accessible food. Limit food sources that can attract rodents as part of the same control effort.
- Use traps where appropriate. Placement matters, and trapping is one part of an integrated approach rather than a substitute for addressing entry and food sources.
- Get exclusion-focused help if the problem persists. The rat-control guidance suggests contacting a professional focused on exclusion when needed. These measures are practical recommendations, not a guarantee for every property or species.
How to judge an ultrasonic repeller claim
- Ask whether evidence tests the exact model being sold, rather than ultrasonic devices as a general category.
- Distinguish seller testimonials and coverage claims from independent measurements or controlled results.
- Check whether the claim identifies the pest and conditions it applies to; broad claims covering many pest types are not, by themselves, evidence of effectiveness.
- Read refund terms at checkout rather than assuming the wording on a product page guarantees a particular outcome.
