Xiaomi launched the MIJIA Cooking Robot in China in September 2022—not as a new 2026 product. The multifunction appliance combines heating, chopping, blending, weighing, steaming, kneading and guided recipes in a 2.2-liter machine. China-market reports included Xiao AI voice control, but Xiaomi’s global documentation says the documented Xiaomi Smart Cooking Robot does not support voice functions. Buyers should therefore treat voice control, software support and availability as region-dependent.
What is the Xiaomi MIJIA Cooking Robot?
The product appeared in China as the MIJIA Cooking Robot and is identified in Xiaomi’s global documentation as the Xiaomi Smart Cooking Robot, model MCC01M. It is a Thermomix-style cooking machine: a food processor and heated cooker built around a touchscreen, electronic scale, blade system, cooking pot and steamer assembly.
Xiaomi positions it as replacing or combining functions associated with up to 35 traditional kitchen appliances. That is Xiaomi’s function-count claim, not evidence that it performs every job as well as a dedicated blender, stand mixer, rice cooker or food processor.
The original China launch was reported in September 2022. Contemporary coverage listed a 5,999-yuan presale price and an expected 6,999-yuan regular price. Those were China launch-period figures, not a current U.S. retail price. GizmoChina reported the launch pricing and China-market features, while Notebookcheck covered the launch context.

What can it cook?
The robot combines several categories of kitchen equipment. Depending on the selected recipe and attachment, it can function as a:
- Food processor, chopper and grinder
- Blender and ice crusher
- Mixer and dough kneader
- Steamer
- Slow cooker and low-temperature cooker
- Yogurt, soy-milk and sauce maker
- Rice-cooking appliance
- Egg-whipping tool
- Electronic kitchen scale
Its IH electromagnetic heating system is designed to heat the pot directly. Xiaomi describes a curved, wok-like pot and surround-style heating intended to improve heating coverage and stir-frying performance. The claimed 35°C–180°C range supports low-temperature cooking as well as higher-temperature recipes, but claims about “Chinese-style wok” performance should be understood as Xiaomi’s product positioning rather than independent testing.
The motor supports forward and reverse rotation. Low-speed reverse movement is intended for stirring and kneading, while higher speeds support blending and grinding. Xiaomi’s detailed FAQ states a range of about 40–12,000 rpm, although another section gives a 40–10,000-rpm figure. The safest summary is that Xiaomi claims speeds up to 12,000 rpm, with inconsistent figures in its own FAQ.

Xiaomi says one recipe pot can generally serve three to four people, depending on the ingredients and recipe. That makes the robot most suitable for small households, side dishes and several portions of a single meal.

The 2.2-liter rating is not a universal usable volume. Hot liquids, foaming ingredients, dough and high-speed blending may require lower fill levels. Never exceed the 2.2-liter marking, and follow the recipe’s stated maximum where it is lower. Families cooking large batches may find the capacity restrictive compared with a conventional multicooker.
Voice control: China model versus global documentation
This is the most important qualification to the original headline.
China launch coverage reported that the China version could respond to Xiaomi’s Xiao AI voice commands. However, Xiaomi’s global support FAQ explicitly says the Xiaomi Smart Cooking Robot does not support voice function and uses an operating beep instead.

There is no verified evidence here that the global or U.S. version supports Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri or another local voice platform. Do not buy an imported unit assuming that a voice-control claim from China applies to your region.
Touchscreen recipes, Wi-Fi and Mi Home
The machine has an 8-inch touchscreen with guided recipes and video-assisted cooking instructions. Recipes can guide or automatically set cooking time, temperature and speed. Launch-era China coverage referred to more than 200 recipes, but that should not be treated as a fixed global library.

Recipe availability can vary with region, account, language, firmware and network access. Xiaomi says recipes are added according to demand, so the practical software experience may differ substantially between a China-market machine and a unit sold through a supported global channel.
Wi-Fi enables recipe and firmware functions, including OTA updates. The appliance supports 2.4-GHz and 5-GHz Wi-Fi at the device level, but Xiaomi says Mi Home pairing requires a 2.4-GHz connection.

What is included?
The global specification page lists the main unit, measuring cup, main-pot cover, main pot, steamer set, blender base, blender blade, whisk, scraper, mesh basket, measuring spoon set and user manual. Xiaomi’s FAQ gives a more detailed list that also includes items such as the steamer lid, tray, drip tray, stirring blade, blade cover and stirring rod.
Package contents can vary by region or model revision. Confirm the exact box contents before purchase, particularly if buying an import.

Cleaning and safety requirements
The appliance has a pre-cleaning mode for the main pot, but Xiaomi says not to use more than 1 liter of water during that program. The main unit is not waterproof: do not immerse it or allow water to splash into the housing or cooling vents.
- Do not force the lid open while the blade is moving.
- Do not remove the measuring cup during operation unless the recipe specifically instructs it.
- Do not heat an empty pot unless the instructions explicitly require it.
- Do not use the stirring rod above speed 5.
- Do not use the stirring rod for prolonged high-temperature cooking.
- Do not use the stirring rod and mesh basket together.
- Keep the cooling vents clear.
- Do not forcibly remove the integrated lid seal.
- Clean accessories after each use and dry them thoroughly.

Power and import concerns for U.S. buyers
The global specification lists 220 volts, 50 Hz and 1,700 watts. That is a major consideration for U.S. shoppers. A simple plug adapter changes the plug shape; it does not convert voltage or frequency. Voltage compatibility, grounding, certification, warranty coverage and safe installation all need to be checked before using an imported machine.
Also verify the exact regional model, Mi Home region, recipe language, firmware-update support, return policy and access to replacement parts such as the pot, lid seal, blade assembly and steamer components. No verified current U.S. official product listing or U.S. warranty was established in the supplied sources.

Voice commands do not work
The likely causes are a regional model, unsupported firmware, account mismatch or Chinese-language-only integration. Check the model number, Mi Home region, supported language and documentation for the specific unit.

Mi Home will not pair
Check that the phone and robot are using the correct Mi Home region and that a 2.4-GHz Wi-Fi network is available. A 5-GHz-only setup may prevent pairing.
Recipes are missing or appear in the wrong language
The cloud recipe library is region and account dependent. Confirm the intended library before buying; China launch recipes should not be assumed to be available globally.
The robot will not start remotely
This is an intentional safety limitation according to Xiaomi, not necessarily a defect. Cooking must be started using the on-device controls.
Overflow or leakage occurs
Possible causes include exceeding the fill line, removing the measuring cup improperly or disturbing the lid seal. Follow the maximum-fill instructions and inspect the lid and sealing components.

How it compares with alternatives
Thermomix TM7
The Thermomix TM7 is the clearer choice for buyers who prioritize an established guided-cooking ecosystem, official U.S. purchasing and local support. Thermomix listed the TM7 at $1,699 in the supplied August 2026 pricing information and claims access to more than 100,000 guided recipes. It is considerably more expensive than Xiaomi’s original China launch price, but its purchase and support path is clearer for U.S. customers.
Ninja Foodi PossibleCooker PRO
The Ninja Foodi PossibleCooker PRO is better suited to readers who want a lower-cost, larger multicooker rather than a food-processing cooking robot. Official price signals in the supplied research ranged from $139.99 to $169.99, and the cooker offers an approximately 8.5-quart format. It does not provide the same integrated chopping, blending, weighing, kneading or guided touchscreen experience.
Verdict
The Xiaomi/Mijia Cooking Robot is a substantial all-in-one appliance for supported Xiaomi markets: it combines IH heating, food processing, weighing, steaming and guided recipes in a relatively compact 2.2-liter system. It could make sense for a small household that values automated stirring and recipe guidance.
For most U.S. buyers, however, the purchase is difficult to recommend without confirming 220-volt compatibility, regional Mi Home operation, recipe language, firmware support, replacement parts and warranty service. The China model’s reported voice control should not be treated as a global feature, and the machine cannot remotely start cooking. It is best viewed as a region-specific Thermomix-style appliance—not a universally supported smart cooker.
