Verdict: The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X10+ is still a capable, convenience-focused robot vacuum-mop for mostly hard-floor homes—but it is no longer an automatic recommendation. Buy it only when it is substantially cheaper than a current self-washing rival, officially supported in your country, and sold with compatible replacement parts. Skip it if you need excellent carpet cleaning, dependable cable avoidance, edge mopping, or strong local support.
What the Xiaomi X10+ does well
The X10+ combines a robot vacuum with an unusually capable all-in-one dock. The station automatically empties the robot’s dustbin, washes its two rotating mop pads, dries them with hot air, and refills the robot’s water supply. That substantially reduces daily intervention compared with a basic robot vacuum or a model with an auto-empty-only station.

It also uses LDS laser navigation alongside an AI camera and line-laser obstacle sensors. In practice, that gives it a stronger mapping foundation than camera-only robots, but it does not make the X10+ genuinely maintenance-free or immune to clutter.
Its best match is a reasonably tidy home with mostly hard flooring, scheduled daily cleaning, and an owner willing to empty tanks and clean brushes periodically. It is a weaker choice for carpet-heavy homes, rooms full of cables and toys, or buyers who would pay nearly the same amount for a newer model.

Xiaomi’s official product page lists the robot as model B101GL and the station as JZ2202. The robot measures 350 × 350 × 97mm, while the dock measures 423 × 340 × 568mm. That tall dock needs a permanent location with adequate clearance.
The dock is the main reason to buy it
The station contains separate clean- and dirty-water tanks, a 2.5-liter dust bag, a removable cleaning tray, and systems for dust collection, mop washing, hot-air drying, and water refilling. Xiaomi claims dust collection in about 10 seconds, capacity equivalent to approximately 60 binloads, and more than 99% mop-pad dryness after at least two hours of hot-air drying under laboratory conditions.

Those are manufacturer test claims, not guarantees of household results. Pet hair, floor area, humidity, dust levels, and cleaning frequency all affect how often the bag and tanks need attention. The dock reduces repetitive work; it does not remove ownership work.
You still need to:
- Empty and rinse the dirty-water tank promptly.
- Refill the clean-water tank.
- Clean the wash tray regularly—Xiaomi suggests roughly every two or three mopping uses in one troubleshooting guide.
- Remove hair from the main brush and side brush.
- Replace dust bags, mop pads, filters, and brushes.
- Investigate odors, blocked ports, wet pads, or failed docking.
For a large hard-floor home, this automation can be more valuable than a higher headline suction number. For a small apartment, the dock’s 568mm height and floor space may be harder to justify.
Vacuuming performance: adequate, but no longer class-leading
The X10+ has four suction modes—quiet, standard, strong, and turbo—and Xiaomi advertises maximum fan-inlet suction of 4,000Pa. It uses one main brush and one side brush. Xiaomi also lists a 5,200mAh battery and more than 120 minutes of runtime in a standard-mode test in a small open area; charging from empty to full takes less than 6.5 hours under normal conditions.
Pa is not a standardized measurement of floor-cleaning performance. A 4,000Pa fan-inlet figure should not be treated as proof that the robot will outperform a model with a larger advertised number. Brush design, airflow, filtration, navigation, repeated passes, and the type of debris matter just as much.

Hard floors, dust, and crumbs
The X10+ should be a sensible daily-maintenance machine on hard floors. It is designed to collect ordinary dust, crumbs, and hair, but heavily soiled areas may require strong or turbo mode. In a January 2023 hands-on review, Tech Advisor found standard suction insufficient for some dust and crumbs and preferred the strong setting. That is useful context, but it is one reviewer’s observation rather than a universal test result.
Higher suction uses more battery and produces more noise. If the robot needs strong mode to handle your floors, its practical coverage and sound profile will be less favorable than the headline runtime suggests.
Hair and pet fur
The rotating brush and automated schedule can help keep loose hair under control, but the X10+ is not an anti-tangle specialist. Long human hair and pet hair can wrap around the brush, increasing noise and reducing pickup. Homes with shedding pets should expect more frequent brush cleaning than Xiaomi’s general maintenance intervals.
Edges and corners
The side brush helps reach along walls, but the X10+ has no documented extending mop arm or equivalent deep edge-mopping system in the supplied official material. It should not be chosen by buyers who expect perfect perimeter cleaning.
Mopping: genuinely useful for daily grime, not deep scrubbing
The X10+ uses two rotating mop pads with a claimed rotation speed of 180rpm and three water-humidity settings. The pads can be washed at the dock between cleaning cycles, and the robot can lift them when it detects carpet. Xiaomi claims a maximum lift of approximately 7mm.
That arrangement is more substantial than a passive cloth dragged across the floor. It should handle footprints, light surface grime, and routine marks on sealed hard floors. However, Xiaomi’s claim that the system provides “five times” more cleaning power is a company comparison under its own test method, not a cross-brand laboratory result.
Dried grease, sticky spills, textured tile, grout, and stubborn stains still need manual treatment. Xiaomi’s own FAQ acknowledges that some stains require hand cleaning. The X10+ is best understood as an automated maintenance mop, not a replacement for a bucket, spray mop, or hand scrub.
Carpet is the important limitation
The robot can recognize carpet ultrasonically, lift its mop pads, and increase suction. Low-pile carpet may work acceptably if the pads clear the surface. Xiaomi recommends using an “Avoid Carpets” setting for carpets thicker than 5mm or for long-fiber carpets because the roughly 7mm lift may not prevent contact.

Be particularly cautious with:
- Medium- and high-pile carpet, where wet pads may drag or touch the fibers.
- Long-fiber rugs, which can interfere with the brush and navigation.
- Fringed rugs, whose loose strands may tangle.
- Dark or reflective carpets, which can affect sensor behavior.
If most of your home is carpet, a vacuum-first model with stronger carpet-focused cleaning is likely a better purchase.
Navigation and obstacle avoidance
LDS laser mapping gives the X10+ a useful foundation for room maps and repeatable routes. The Xiaomi Home or Mi Home app can provide 3D maps after a map has been saved and divided into rooms. You can generally assign different suction levels, mop humidity, cleaning repetitions, and cleaning order by room, as well as create virtual walls and no-go or no-mop zones. Exact labels vary by country, firmware, and app version.
The station should have about 0.5m of clear space on each side and 1.5m in front for reliable docking. Keep the floor around it dry and unobstructed.
The front camera and line-laser system are intended to recognize objects such as cords, socks, slippers, and shoes. That is useful, but the X10+ should not be left to navigate a heavily cluttered floor without preparation. Xiaomi says dark, reflective, small, and low objects may not be detected reliably. Flexible objects such as curtains may be touched, and complex clutter can still cause collisions or entrapment.
Low light also matters. LDS mapping can continue in darkness, but camera-based recognition of cables, shoes, and similar objects may become less reliable. Night cleaning is therefore not equivalent to daytime obstacle avoidance.
Mirrors and reflective surfaces can distort maps. Dirty sensors can cause abnormal routes. Moving the robot during a cleaning run can trigger repositioning problems or repeated cleaning, particularly if it is placed in an area it has not previously mapped or cleaned.
App setup and controls
Initial setup involves removing protective packaging, installing the main brush and mop holders, placing the dock, installing Xiaomi Home or Mi Home, scanning the setup code, and connecting the robot to Wi-Fi. Run an initial mapping cycle, divide the map into rooms, and create no-go or no-mop zones before routine schedules begin.
The app supports room cleaning, cleaning order, suction selection, mop humidity, carpet settings, custom modes, dust-collection and mop-washing frequency, and firmware updates according to Xiaomi’s support documentation. Menu names and paths can change, so do not assume that an older screenshot matches the current app.

Maintenance and common failures
Xiaomi recommends cleaning the main brush about every two weeks, replacing it every six to 12 months, cleaning the side brush monthly, and replacing the side brush every three to six months. Mop cloths are listed for replacement every one to three months, depending on use. Heavy shedding, grit, hard water, and frequent mopping can shorten those intervals.
Mop odor or wet pads
Rinse the dirty-water tank, clean the wash tray, inspect the pads, and avoid leaving contaminated water standing. If pads remain wet, confirm that the cleaning task finished and the robot returned to the dock; drying takes about two hours. A further manual drying cycle may be needed in humid conditions.
Poor dust pickup
Check the dustbin, filter, brush, and dust-collection port. A full bag, blocked filter, or tangled brush can imitate weak suction.
Stuck robot or detached mop tray
Remove cables, plastic bags, slippers, and toys from the floor. Check low furniture and thresholds. A mop tray can catch on thresholds, carpets, small steps, or cords.

Docking failure
Restore the required clearance, dry the floor, clean the charging contacts, and start the robot from the dock. If a firmware update fails, the robot should be docked, sufficiently charged, and connected to a working network.

The X10+ contains an RGB/AI camera for obstacle recognition. Xiaomi says the camera images are processed in real time and are not saved, and it describes encryption and security certifications for map transmission and cloud storage. Those are manufacturer statements, not an independent privacy audit.
Before buying, review the current Xiaomi Home or Mi Home privacy policy and app permissions for your region. Cloud behavior, account requirements, and data handling can vary with software and regional settings. Buyers who do not want a camera inside the home should choose a camera-free model instead.

The X10+ was not officially available in the US or UK at the time of Tech Advisor’s January 2023 review, although imported stock existed. That historical fact does not establish its availability in every market in 2026. Check the exact country storefront and seller before purchase.
Regional station specifications differ: official pages list 100–120V versions in some markets and 220–240V versions in others. Do not use an imported station without confirming electrical compatibility. Imported products can also create problems with warranty coverage, app-region selection, replacement parts, returns, and local service.
Xiaomi lists compatible mop pads, main and side brushes, brush covers, and five-pack dust bags in some regional accessory stores. Availability and stock are not universal. Confirm that the consumables are available locally before buying the robot.
How it compares with alternatives
Roborock Qrevo family
A current Qrevo model is the most direct alternative for buyers who want an all-in-one dock and a stronger official US retail and support path. Depending on the exact model, Qrevo systems offer mop washing, warm-air drying, dust emptying, water refilling, dual spinning mops, mop lifting, LiDAR navigation, and obstacle avoidance. One official listing showed $579.99 against $899.99, but prices change and should be checked at purchase.

The higher purchase price may eliminate the X10+’s value advantage.
Dreame L10s Plus and L10s Ultra
The official L10s Plus listing showed $359.99 against $549.99 and advertised 7,000Pa suction, dual rotary mops, 7mm mop lifting, and a 4-liter dust bag designed for up to 90 days under stated conditions. But the L10s Plus should not automatically be treated as an X10+ equivalent: buyers must verify whether the specific version washes and dries mop pads and refills water, or merely empties dust.
An L10s Ultra-class model is closer in dock automation, while an L10s Plus may be more attractive to buyers who primarily want automated vacuuming and a larger dust bag.
Newer Xiaomi X20 models
The X20+, X20 Pro, and X20 Max are not interchangeable products. Where officially sold, a newer model may offer stronger suction, updated obstacle avoidance, or a different water-management design. Compare the exact regional variant, voltage, station functions, and replacement-part ecosystem. The X10+ can still be preferable if its built-in robot water tank and automatic station refilling are more convenient than the design of the available X20 model.

This remains the better choice for stairs, multiple floors, deep cleaning, camera-free homes, and buyers who want maximum cleaning quality per dollar with fewer software and mapping issues. The X10+ wins on scheduled daily maintenance and reduced hands-on effort.
Buying checklist
- Confirm the exact model: X10+ rather than X10, X20+, or another regional variant.
- Check the station voltage against your electrical system.
- Confirm local warranty, return rights, and authorized-seller status.
- Verify that Xiaomi Home or Mi Home supports the product in your region.
- Price compatible dust bags, mop pads, filters, and brushes before buying.
- Measure the dock and reserve roughly 0.5m on each side and 1.5m in front.
- Check your carpets, rugs, thresholds, and furniture clearances.
- Compare the final price with a current Roborock Qrevo, Dreame full-service dock, or newer Xiaomi model.
- Do not buy an import merely because its headline price is low.
Final verdict
The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X10+ remains a good hard-floor maintenance appliance when its dock automation is the priority and the price is clearly discounted. Its rotating mops, automatic washing and drying, water refilling, LDS mapping, and room controls are still useful.
But the X10+ is an older platform with modest advertised suction, limited carpet flexibility, imperfect obstacle avoidance, no documented extending edge mop, and region-dependent support. It is worth buying only when the discount compensates for those limitations and you can verify voltage, warranty, app compatibility, and consumables. At a price close to a current self-washing competitor, choose the newer, better-supported model.
