Xiaomi’s Mijia Pro Energy-Saving Standing Air Conditioner, 2HP, launched in China in July 2025 with a reported pre-order price of 4,599 yuan. The cabinet-style split air conditioner is advertised for rooms of approximately 30 square metres and includes HyperOS Connect smart-home integration. Xiaomi also claims energy savings of up to 40%—but that is a maximum, conditional claim rather than a guaranteed reduction for every household.
What Xiaomi launched
The product’s Chinese name is 米家空调Pro 巨省电 立式大2匹 超一级能效, commonly translated as the Mijia Pro Energy-Saving Standing Air Conditioner, 2HP. It is a tall, floor-standing indoor cabinet paired with an outdoor unit—not a portable air conditioner that can simply be plugged in and moved between rooms.

The reported specifications include a dual-cylinder compressor, maximum airflow of 1,560 m³/h, an air-outlet surface said to be 117% larger than its predecessor, and a claimed 115-degree air-distribution angle. Xiaomi advertises it for spaces of roughly 30 m².

Chinese “2HP” capacity terminology should not be casually converted into a U.S. “2-ton” air-conditioning rating. Room load, cooling capacity, electrical input and efficiency figures need to be checked from the relevant local documentation.
What the 40% energy-saving claim means
The headline figure is best read as “up to 40% under specified conditions”, not as a promise that the unit will use 40% less electricity than every competing air conditioner.
In its 2024 environmental, social and governance report, Xiaomi describes AI-assisted energy-saving control strategies and cites up to 40% overall savings, along with a potential annual reduction of 786 kWh under stated assumptions. The report refers to testing and comparison within China’s energy-efficiency framework. It does not establish that every owner of this particular 2HP standing model will achieve that result.
Actual electricity use will depend on:
- Outdoor temperature and humidity;
- The set temperature and operating duration;
- Room size, insulation, windows and air leakage;
- Solar exposure, ceiling height, occupants and appliances;
- The efficiency of the existing air conditioner used as the comparison;
- Whether AI or energy-saving modes are enabled; and
- Local electricity rates and installation quality.
For a meaningful comparison, buyers should look for annual energy consumption, rated input power, APF or the relevant local efficiency metric, and the test conditions—not just a percentage in marketing material. Xiaomi’s global product pages illustrate why model-to-model comparisons matter: the Mijia Eco 2.6 kW and Mijia Eco 7.0 kW pages publish different capacities and different tested energy-saving figures.

What HyperOS Connect adds
HyperOS Connect is primarily Xiaomi’s connected-device and smart-home control layer. It does not, by itself, make the compressor more powerful or prove better cooling performance.
Depending on the model’s firmware, region and Xiaomi Home account, users may be able to:
- Control power, temperature and operating modes through the app;
- Schedule operation and switch the unit on or off remotely;
- Include the air conditioner in Xiaomi smart-home scenes;
- Coordinate it with compatible sensors, speakers or other devices; and
- Receive software or firmware updates where Xiaomi supports them.
The exact feature set may differ between Chinese and global firmware. App-region settings, account location, supported gateways and cloud availability can all affect whether a feature works outside China. HyperOS branding also does not mean the air conditioner has the same interface or capabilities as a Xiaomi phone.
Connected control brings a privacy consideration. Xiaomi’s smart-device privacy disclosures indicate that device status, operating state, environmental information, account details and network data may be involved in connected-device services.

Is it available in the United States or internationally?
No official U.S. or worldwide release has been confirmed in the available sources. The launch and purchase references point to China. Xiaomi’s global catalogue includes other Mijia air conditioners, but those listings do not establish that this specific 2HP Pro standing model is sold internationally.
Importing a China-market air conditioner can create problems beyond shipping cost:
- Different voltage, frequency and electrical requirements;
- Local certification and building-code requirements;
- Refrigerant handling, drainage and outdoor-unit installation requirements;
- Chinese-language or region-restricted app functions;
- No local warranty or authorized repair network;
- Difficulty sourcing replacement boards, compressors or remote controls; and
- Potentially unsuitable installation practices or unavailable service technicians.
The 4,599-yuan launch price—roughly $640 at the exchange-rate estimate used in launch coverage—is not a U.S. retail price. It excludes shipping, taxes, import charges, installation, electrical work and ongoing service.

The 2HP Pro model is aimed at a medium-sized room and buyers in China who want a cabinet-style unit integrated into Xiaomi’s ecosystem. It should not be confused with the related Mijia Powerful Wind Ultra 3HP, reported in 2026 at 5,999 yuan and intended for larger spaces and faster cooling.

Global alternatives have different specifications and support arrangements. The global Mijia GentleAir 2.6 kW, for example, emphasizes softer airflow, noise and Xiaomi Home control rather than matching the Pro model’s floor-standing 2HP format. The global Eco models also publish different capacity, room-size and tested-saving figures.
When comparing models, check cooling capacity, recommended room load, annual consumption, noise at specific fan speeds, installation requirements, warranty coverage, app compatibility and local service—not maximum airflow alone.

Who should consider it?
The Mijia Pro 2HP makes the most sense for a China-based buyer who needs a cabinet-style air conditioner for a room around 30 m², already uses Xiaomi or Mijia devices, and has access to authorized installation and service. Its airflow and automation features may also appeal to buyers replacing an older, inefficient unit.
It is a poor fit for anyone who needs a genuinely portable appliance, expects installation-free operation, requires a U.S. warranty, or is buying solely because of the 40% headline. It is also risky for overseas buyers who have not confirmed electrical compatibility, certification, refrigerant requirements, app-region support and replacement-parts availability.
Bottom line
Xiaomi’s Mijia Pro Energy-Saving Standing Air Conditioner is a China-market 2HP cabinet unit launched in July 2025 at a reported 4,599 yuan. Its 1,560 m³/h airflow, HyperOS Connect integration and claimed savings of up to 40% make it notable on paper. The savings figure is conditional, however, and the available evidence does not confirm a U.S. or global release. For international buyers, an officially supported local model with documented efficiency, installation and warranty coverage is the safer choice.
