Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Washing Machine Pro Super Electrolysis Smart Dosing Washer Dryer 12kg in China. It combines a 12kg washing capacity with a 9kg drying capacity, electrolysis-based stain and fabric-care functions, automatic detergent and softener dispensing, and Mi Home smart-home controls.
The announced Chinese launch price was 3,528 yuan, or 2,999 yuan with the reported government subsidy. Xiaomi has not confirmed a U.S. or wider international launch in the sources available, so the product should be treated as a China-market appliance rather than a globally available model.

Price and availability
Xiaomi announced the washer-dryer for the Chinese market on January 9, 2026, with retail sales beginning January 16 at 8 p.m. local time through JD.com and other Chinese channels. The launch price was 3,528 yuan; Chinese subsidy pricing was reported at 2,999 yuan.
Those figures are not U.S. retail prices. They exclude the practical costs and risks of importing a large appliance, including shipping, taxes, installation, electrical compatibility, warranty coverage, and repairs. Xiaomi’s official China product listing is available at mi.com. No confirmed U.S. release date, U.S. price, or international warranty was established in the available launch information.

Xiaomi also lists a separate 12kg washing-only model. Its specifications should not be combined with those of this 12kg-wash/9kg-dry appliance. The separate model appears on Xiaomi’s China store at this product page.
What Super Electrolysis is supposed to do
“Super Electrolysis” refers to Xiaomi’s claimed electrolysis-based treatment system. Launch coverage describes it as generating active oxygen through electrolysis, with intended benefits including stain removal, whitening or restoring yellowed fabrics, and reducing color transfer. Xiaomi reportedly claims the system can address more than 20 difficult stain types, including oil, blood, soy sauce, and juice.

Electrolysis is a treatment feature, not a guarantee that every stain will disappear. Results can vary with stain age, fabric type, water chemistry, temperature, detergent, load size, and cycle selection.
The phrase “no chemical additives” should also be read carefully. It describes the electrolysis process and does not mean the appliance washes without detergent. The machine still includes detergent and softener or disinfectant reservoirs.
Hygiene claims need test context
Reported product claims include:
- 99.999% bacterial removal
- 99.999% virus removal
- 100% mite removal
The reported system combines high-temperature steam with cold-water electrolysis. However, the available launch reports do not identify the tested organisms, load size, cycle duration, water temperature, laboratory, or whether the figures apply to washing, drying, or a dedicated hygiene program.

“Removal” can also mean different things in appliance testing, including physical removal, inactivation, or reduction under specified conditions. These percentages should therefore be treated as Xiaomi’s product-test claims, not as universal household outcomes or medical, allergy, or disease-prevention guarantees. The machine’s hygiene programs should not override garment-care instructions.
Automatic detergent and softener dosing
The washer-dryer has a dual smart-dispensing system for detergent and either softener or disinfectant. Xiaomi reportedly says the appliance senses or weighs the load and adjusts the dispensing amount with milliliter-level control. The reservoirs are advertised as holding roughly a month’s supply.
Actual duration depends on household size, wash frequency, selected dosage, soil level, detergent concentration, and liquid type. Automatic dosing may help prevent over-dosing, but it does not automatically prove lower detergent consumption or less residue.
Buyers should confirm several details in the Chinese manual before importing:
- Whether automatic dosing responds only to load weight and cycle selection or also to soil level
- Whether users can override the automatic amount
- Which third-party liquids are approved
- Whether disinfectant can be used in the second reservoir instead of softener
- What happens when a tank is empty
- Whether powder detergent is supported
People with sensitive skin may still prefer fragrance-free detergent and an extra-rinse setting. Hard water may also affect detergent use, electrolysis performance, scaling, and maintenance.

12kg washing does not mean 12kg drying
The capacity distinction is the most important everyday qualification. The machine can wash up to 12kg but dry only up to 9kg. A full 12kg wash may therefore need to be divided before drying.
That matters for large households washing towels, bedding, jeans, or winter clothing. Bulky items can exceed the practical drying limit before the drum looks full, and tightly packed loads may dry slowly or unevenly. A 12kg rating is not a promise that a comforter or a full family wash will circulate and dry effectively in one cycle.
For households that routinely wash and dry large loads, separate washer and dryer units remain more flexible. The combination design saves floor space and avoids transferring clothes, but it can require load splitting and may take longer for a complete wash-and-dry process.
Programs and drying features
Reported programs include wool, down-jacket care, steam refresh, a light dry-cleaning mode, fragrance care, low-temperature soft drying, and a 12-minute quick wash. The quick cycle is best understood as a short option for lightly soiled, small loads unless Xiaomi’s manual specifies otherwise; it should not be treated as a replacement for a normal full wash.

Temperature alone does not establish drying speed, energy efficiency, or fabric safety. Heat-sensitive garments still require care-label checks, and actual cycle times may be substantially longer than the wash portion.

Mi Home and HyperOS controls
The appliance reportedly supports Mi Home app controls, remote start, scheduling, real-time status monitoring, OTA updates, Xiaomi smart speakers, and HyperOS or Pengpai smart connectivity.
Smart-home support can be region-dependent. Mi Home account region, language, Wi-Fi, cloud access, firmware, and voice-assistant availability may affect which features work outside mainland China. The physical controls should remain important: remote functions can fail because of network outages, account problems, cloud-service changes, or regional restrictions.
What the motor and “1.3 wash ratio” tell you
The reported 1,200rpm inverter motor can help extract more water before drying, potentially reducing the work required from the dryer. Spin speed alone does not prove better cleaning, lower noise, lower energy use, reduced vibration, or long-term reliability.
The advertised 1.3 wash ratio is a market-specific performance metric. It should be interpreted using Xiaomi’s own technical documentation rather than compared directly with unrelated international washing scores. The available launch coverage does not provide enough information to independently evaluate the metric.

Reasons to consider it
- Large 12kg washing capacity for family laundry and weekly bulk loads
- Integrated 9kg drying capability
- Automatic detergent and softener or disinfectant dispensing
- Specialized fabric-care and refresh programs
- Remote scheduling and monitoring through Xiaomi’s ecosystem
- Electrolysis and steam features that may appeal to buyers focused on stain or hygiene care
Reasons to hesitate
- No confirmed U.S. or broad international launch in the available sources
- No established local warranty or repair network for imported units
- Possible voltage, frequency, plug, water-fitting, and installation incompatibilities
- 9kg drying limit beneath the 12kg washing limit
- Unverified real-world cleaning, hygiene, drying-speed, energy, noise, and reliability performance
- Additional pumps, sensors, reservoirs, and maintenance requirements from automatic dosing
- Chinese subsidy pricing may not apply to overseas buyers
Should you buy or import it?
China-based buyers are the clearest audience. The machine combines a large wash capacity, integrated drying, automatic dosing, and Xiaomi smart-home integration at its announced Chinese price.

Xiaomi ecosystem users elsewhere should buy only if local electrical specifications, installation, parts, warranty, and Mi Home compatibility are confirmed. A low converted price is not the same as a low landed cost.
Most U.S. buyers should be cautious about importing it unless Xiaomi confirms U.S. compatibility and support. Verify voltage and frequency, drainage and installation requirements, customs costs, service arrangements, replacement pumps and seals, dosing-component availability, and the correct Mi Home region before paying.

Buyers outside China who do not need the appliance immediately may be better served by waiting for an official regional launch or choosing a locally supported washer-dryer. If drying capacity is the priority, compare the 9kg drying limit with the size of your usual loads rather than focusing only on the 12kg wash headline.
Bottom line
Xiaomi’s Mijia Washing Machine Pro Super Electrolysis Smart Dosing Washer Dryer is a China-launched 12kg washer-dryer with notable automation and smart-home features. Its most practical limitation is the 9kg drying capacity, while its most important unanswered questions concern independent cleaning and hygiene performance, energy use, cycle duration, reliability, and international support.
It is potentially compelling for a China-based household that can obtain local service. For overseas buyers, the announced price should not outweigh the risks of electrical compatibility, regional software restrictions, warranty gaps, and expensive appliance repairs.
