Xiaomi launched the Mijia Super Energy-Saving 2HP Floor-Standing Air Conditioner in China in July 2025. Listed at 3,799 yuan and scheduled to go on sale on July 10, the cabinet-style system offers reported cooling and heating capacities of 5,150W and 7,350W, a 115° airflow swing, and Xiaomi-claimed cooling and heating responses of 40 and 80 seconds respectively.
Those response times are laboratory claims—not guarantees that a 30m² room will reach its target temperature in under a minute. The product also supports the Mijia app, Xiao Ai voice control, HyperOS Connect, OTA updates and cloud diagnostics. Available evidence confirms a China launch, but not a global or U.S. release of this exact model.

What Xiaomi launched
The product is a floor-standing “cabinet” air conditioner, rather than a portable unit or wall-mounted split-system indoor head. Xiaomi markets it as a 2HP model for rooms of up to approximately 30m²—about 323 square feet—but actual suitability depends on climate, insulation, ceiling height, windows, occupancy and solar exposure.
The launch was reported on July 5, 2025, with sales scheduled through JD.com in China from July 10. The reported launch price was 3,799 yuan. A later international release of this exact model has not been verified in the available information.

These are reported launch specifications and manufacturer or secondary-source claims, not independent test results. Xiaomi’s official Chinese pages for related Mijia models can be consulted at its 2HP specifications page and 3HP cabinet air-conditioner page. Those related pages should not be treated as proof that every specification above belongs to the July 2025 launch model.
What “40-second cooling” really means
The headline does not mean the entire 30m² room will be cooled to the selected temperature in 40 seconds. The reported claim refers to a rapid cooling effect beginning under specified laboratory conditions. The 80-second heating claim should be understood in the same way.
Real room performance will vary with:
- the starting indoor temperature;
- outdoor heat or cold;
- room volume and ceiling height;
- insulation, windows and direct sunlight;
- humidity and air leakage;
- open doors, partitions and furniture; and
- the selected mode, fan speed and thermostat setting.
No independent test result was provided in the available reporting. Heating can also be affected by defrost cycles in cold weather, so an initial rapid response should not be confused with uninterrupted heating performance.
What the 115° swing changes
The reported 115° wide-angle swing is designed to spread air across a broad horizontal area. That may be useful in a rectangular living room, a larger open space, or a room where the cabinet is positioned near a corner. The unit reportedly also supports horizontal and vertical airflow adjustment, and Xiaomi or launch coverage cites an air throw of up to 13m.
A swing angle is not a guarantee of uniform room temperature. Walls, furniture, partitions, ceiling height and warm air rising during heating can still create hot or cold spots. A cabinet unit may improve distribution across one open room, but it will not effectively condition several closed rooms without suitable airflow paths.

HyperOS, Mijia and smart controls
HyperOS integration here refers to Xiaomi’s connected-device ecosystem—not the same full operating-system interface found on a Xiaomi phone. Reported functions include:
- control through the Mijia app;
- Xiao Ai voice-assistant support;
- HyperOS Connect integration;
- OTA firmware updates;
- remote cloud diagnostics; and
- up to 122 reported self-checks.
Remote control normally requires a compatible Xiaomi account, app configuration and internet connection. Imported appliances may require the mainland-China region in the Mijia app, Chinese-language voice commands or access to Xiaomi’s Chinese servers. The available information does not establish that the same functions work with U.S. accounts, non-Chinese language settings or every international version of Xiaomi’s smart-home platform.
Cloud-dependent features also create a long-term support consideration: OTA updates and remote diagnostics depend on Xiaomi continuing to support the relevant model, servers and regional firmware. The available reports do not specify what diagnostic data is collected, how long it is retained, or whether every result is visible to the owner.
Cleaning and air-quality claims
The reported maintenance features include 56°C high-temperature self-cleaning for the indoor unit, outdoor-condenser rinsing, and antibacterial and anti-mold filter nets. Coverage also cites a claim that the filters can block up to 99% of E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus.
Recommended Free Tools
That wording should not be read as medical-grade air purification or as proof that the system sterilizes room air. The available reports do not provide the test setup, exposure time, certification or detailed methodology behind the bacterial claim. Self-cleaning can assist maintenance, but it does not replace inspecting and cleaning filters, coils, drainage components and condensate paths.
Understanding the 2HP label
“2HP” is a Chinese-market appliance designation and should not be casually treated as a U.S. horsepower, tonnage or sizing rating. The reported 5,150W cooling capacity converts mathematically to approximately 17,570 BTU/h, while 7,350W of heating is approximately 25,081 BTU/h. These are calculated equivalents, not necessarily the unit’s official rating for another market.
Likewise, the 30m² coverage figure is only a product claim. A 5.15kW cooling system could be excessive for a small, well-insulated room, potentially causing drafts, short cycling or uneven comfort. Correct sizing should account for local climate, room construction, glazing, orientation and heat sources.

This is a split air-conditioning system with a tall indoor cabinet and separate outdoor unit. Before importing or specifying it, verify all of the following:
- Electrical requirements: confirm voltage, frequency, plug configuration and circuit requirements with a qualified local installer.
- Refrigerant and regulations: verify the refrigerant type and whether local handling or installation rules apply.
- Included equipment: check whether copper lines, brackets, drains, wiring, the outdoor unit and installation labor are included in the quoted price.
- Physical access: the indoor unit is nearly 1.87m tall, so measure doorways, stairwells, lift access and the final clearance.
- Outdoor placement: provide adequate condenser clearance, structural support, drainage and protection from unsuitable exposure.
- Warranty: confirm whether coverage is limited to mainland China and whether an imported unit can be serviced locally.
- Parts: check access to filters, control boards, motors and other proprietary components before purchase.
The reported 38–42dB indoor noise range should also be treated as a specification rather than a universal guarantee across every fan speed and operating condition.
Common ownership problems
The Mijia app cannot find the appliance
The device may require the mainland-China region, a compatible account region or Chinese server access. Confirm regional compatibility before importing rather than assuming that every Xiaomi appliance appears in every Xiaomi Home catalog.
Xiao Ai voice commands do not work
Voice control may depend on Chinese language settings, account region and supported servers. HyperOS branding alone does not guarantee compatibility with an overseas voice assistant setup.
Updates or diagnostics are unavailable
OTA firmware and cloud diagnostics can fail if the product is outside its intended market, the relevant server is unavailable, or the appliance is running regional firmware that is not supported in the buyer’s country.
The room still feels uncomfortable
A high-capacity system cannot overcome poor placement or a mismatched room layout. The 115° swing may distribute air broadly, but furniture, walls and air stratification can still leave areas untreated.
Who should consider it?
The Mijia unit is most compelling for a buyer in Xiaomi’s supported Chinese market who wants a powerful cooling-and-heating cabinet for one sizeable open room, already uses Mijia devices, and can obtain legitimate installation and after-sales support.
It is less attractive for renters, owners of small rooms, buyers who need a wall-mounted indoor unit, or anyone who expects straightforward local warranty service. Outside China, a locally sold inverter split system will usually offer lower support and compatibility risk, even if it lacks Xiaomi’s smart-home integration.
Alternatives by installation need
- Wall-mounted inverter split AC: generally takes less floor space and is easier to service when purchased locally.
- Locally sold floor-standing split AC: offers the closest form factor with better prospects for local parts, installation and warranty support.
- Portable AC: easier to install, but commonly noisier and less effective for efficient whole-room comfort.
- Ducted or multi-split HVAC: better suited to multiple rooms, but requires substantially more planning, installation work and budget.
Xiaomi also sells related Chinese-market Mijia 2HP and 3HP cabinet models, including the official 2HP purchase listing and a related 3HP model. They should not be assumed to be the same product as the July 2025 launch.
Verdict
Xiaomi’s Mijia Super Energy-Saving 2HP Floor-Standing Air Conditioner is a notable China-market launch on paper: it combines substantial reported output, wide-angle airflow, heating, self-cleaning features and close integration with Xiaomi’s smart-home platform. The 40-second cooling and 80-second heating figures are best treated as controlled-condition response claims, not whole-room performance promises.
For buyers outside China, availability is the central limitation. Electrical compatibility, professional installation, app-region restrictions, warranty coverage and replacement parts should be resolved before considering an import. Until Xiaomi confirms broader distribution and support for this exact model, a locally sold floor-standing or wall-mounted inverter system remains the more practical choice for most international buyers.
