Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Mini Washing Machine 1kg in China. Model XHQG10MJ402 is a compact front-loading washer-dryer designed for very small loads, with a maximum washing capacity of 1kg and a separate drying capacity of just 0.5kg.
The machine adds automatic detergent dosing, a reported 95°C steam hygiene cycle, app and voice controls, and an advertised 45-minute wash-and-dry program. Its ¥2,699 list price and ¥1,999 presale price were China launch prices in December 2024—not confirmed US retail prices. Launch coverage and Xiaomi’s China product listing identify it as a specialist appliance rather than a replacement for a full-size household washer.

What the 1kg capacity means in practice
The “1kg” label refers to the maximum washing load, not the amount the machine can dry. Drying is limited to 0.5kg, so a full 1kg wash may need to be divided before drying. The advertised 45-minute wash-and-dry time should therefore not be interpreted as a guaranteed full-capacity drying result.

A 1kg drum could suit a few shirts, underwear, socks, baby clothes, or delicate garments. It may also be useful for separating hygiene-sensitive or heavily soiled items from the main laundry. It is not intended for bedding, towels, jeans, sweaters, or ordinary multi-day family washing.
Automatic detergent dosing
The Mijia Mini Washing Machine reportedly detects or weighs the load and adjusts the detergent dose automatically. The purpose is to reduce over-dosing, detergent residue, and waste.
That does not mean the machine chooses the correct detergent for every garment or guarantees better cleaning. Dosage still depends on factors such as detergent concentration, water hardness, soil level, and fabric type. Available launch information does not specify the dispenser’s tank capacity, supported detergent types, whether fabric softener is dispensed automatically, or how much detergent users can expect to save.
What “sterilization” means here
Xiaomi’s reported hygiene feature is a steam cycle reaching up to 95°C. Launch coverage describes it as targeting bacteria and other pathogens. The more precise description is a reported 95°C steam hygiene cycle, rather than a guarantee that every load is medically sterilized.
Performance depends on temperature, exposure time, detergent, load size, and fabric composition. The available coverage does not provide an independent laboratory report, test protocol, reduction percentage, or certification for this exact model. High-temperature washing can also damage or shrink materials such as wool, silk, elastane, coated fabrics, and some printed garments. Care labels should take priority.
Wash, dry and care features
Reported programs and functions include:
- A 15-minute quick-wash cycle.
- An advertised 45-minute quick wash-and-dry cycle.
- Gentle drying intended for delicate materials such as silk.
- A 95°C steam hygiene cycle.
- Material-specific washing programs.
- Four selectable water levels, according to secondary coverage from Homecrux.
- A drum light and child lock.
- Automatic airing or drum movement if clothes are not removed within 30 minutes.
The 800rpm spin speed and direct-drive motor are more substantial than the specifications commonly associated with simple bucket-style portable washers. However, there is no independent testing in the available launch coverage for cleaning performance, noise, water use, energy use, drying effectiveness, or detergent-dosing accuracy.

Smart-home controls
The washer reportedly supports remote control through the Mi Home app, voice commands through Xiaomi’s XiaoAi assistant, app-based program and water-level selection, and OTA software updates.

- [Product Usage Tips] 1. Don't overload. Overload may cause the motor to turn on overheating protection. 2. Balance the spinner to prevent it from losing balance, hitting the inner walls, stopping work. 3. If the machine doesn’t drain, check that the water hose is not clogged or bent, which may prevent the spinner from working properly. 4. Make sure the drain height is less than 45 inches.
These features may be tied to Xiaomi’s China ecosystem. App registration, language, account region, Wi-Fi setup, cloud services, and voice-assistant availability can differ outside China. Xiaomi’s global washer pages show that app control and OTA updates are used across parts of its wider appliance range, but they do not prove that every interface or feature works identically on this China-market 1kg model. See Xiaomi’s global 8kg washer page for comparison.
Compact does not mean portable
At 328mm wide, the machine has a small footprint, but its reported net weight is 22kg. That makes it compact rather than casually portable. It needs a stable, level installation surface, a compatible water inlet, drainage, electrical supply, and enough clearance to open the door and access maintenance points.
The stated 0.03–0.8MPa operating water-pressure range does not guarantee that every installation will work without adapters or plumbing checks. Buyers should also consider hose routing, drain height, vibration during spinning, rear clearance, and the machine’s local voltage and plug requirements.
China launch price and availability
The reported December 2024 launch pricing was:
- ¥2,699 list price.
- ¥1,999 presale price.
Dollar equivalents reported at launch were approximate currency conversions, not a US MSRP. Xiaomi’s China product listing remains the relevant official reference, but a readable current price was not established in the supplied information.
There is no verified evidence that the exact XHQG10MJ402 model launched through Xiaomi’s US store or received broad international distribution. Xiaomi’s US website does not by itself establish US availability, local warranty coverage, electrical certification, or retailer stock for this washer.

Anyone considering an import should confirm all of the following before paying:
- Voltage, frequency, plug type, and electrical compliance.
- Water-inlet and drain compatibility.
- Whether the machine can be registered in the buyer’s Xiaomi Home region.
- Chinese-language controls and documentation.
- Availability of replacement parts and local repair service.
- Warranty validity, returns, shipping, and import charges.
- Whether the seller is authorised and is supplying model XHQG10MJ402.
A China-market appliance may function mechanically while still being difficult to support locally. OTA updates also do not guarantee that regional app or cloud features will remain available after import.

Who should consider it?
The Mijia Mini Washing Machine makes most sense as a secondary appliance for someone who regularly washes very small loads. Potential users include one-person households, parents washing baby garments, people separating underwear or delicate clothes, and Xiaomi smart-home users in China who can access local service.
It is a poor fit for families seeking a primary washer, anyone who regularly washes bulky items, or buyers expecting a camping-style portable machine. The installation requirements and 22kg weight make it a permanent appliance despite its mini dimensions.
How it compares with larger Xiaomi washers
Xiaomi’s Mijia Front Load Washer 8kg is the more sensible choice for normal household laundry, while the Mijia Top Load Washer 13kg is aimed at families and bulky loads. Those global-facing models are not direct substitutes for the 1kg mini washer:
- Choose the 1kg model for targeted, frequent small loads.
- Choose an 8kg model for everyday laundry in a smaller household.
- Choose a 13kg model for families, bedding, and larger loads.
The larger models may have different regional specifications, apps, warranties, and prices. Their existence does not confirm international availability of the 1kg China model.

Xiaomi’s Mijia Mini Washing Machine 1kg is an unusual specialist appliance: it combines a very small wash load with automatic detergent dosing, app controls, a direct-drive motor, and a reported 95°C steam hygiene program. Its strongest use case is frequent washing of tiny loads such as baby clothes, underwear, socks, or delicates.
The limitations are just as important as the headline features. Drying is capped at 0.5kg, the 22kg machine is not truly portable, installation still requires plumbing, and the product’s China-market status creates questions about voltage, app access, warranty, and repairs. Until Xiaomi confirms local distribution, it should be treated as a China-market secondary washer—not a full-size replacement or a verified US appliance.
