First identify what is blinking: a temperature display, a deli-drawer panel, or the refrigerator’s interior lamp. These are different symptoms. On Samsung refrigerators, a blinking temperature display can signal that the temperature is too high, while flashing blue interior lights with certain Family Hub error codes call for a specific reboot. A failed interior lamp is a separate issue.
Identify which light is blinking
Note the location of the blinking light, any number or code on the display, and whether the refrigerator is cooling normally. A photo of an unusual code or pattern can help when you contact service. Older models without numeric displays may show error codes as lit or blinking segments that look random; use the model-specific guidance rather than guessing what they mean. If the temperature display is blinking
Samsung US Support says a blinking temperature display is typically drawing attention to a temperature that is too high. A door left open or a recent power outage can cause this. If the refrigerator otherwise appears to be working normally, close the door and allow it to cool; Samsung says this may take up to four hours. If it is not cooling properly, use Samsung’s cooling troubleshooting guidance or contact support instead of assuming the warning will clear on its own. Samsung’s temperature-display guidance
If a deli-drawer panel is blinking
Samsung US Support gives a specific power-cycle instruction for a blinking deli-drawer panel: turn off refrigerator power for two minutes, restore power, then wait one minute. If the lights still blink, contact Samsung support. Confirm this instruction applies to your refrigerator model before following it; guidance can vary by model and region. If the blinking is accompanied by an error code
Record the code and consult instructions for your exact model. Samsung cautions against unplugging the refrigerator or using the control panel to clear an error unless instructed, because clearing it may make diagnosis more difficult. Family Hub codes 41 or 42 with flashing blue interior lights
For this specific combination, Samsung instructs users to reboot Family Hub using the power switch inside the top of the right door. If the flashing continues after the reboot, contact Samsung support. Do not apply this step to other blinking patterns or codes without model-specific instructions. Samsung’s error-code guidance

If the interior lamp is out
A lamp that does not turn on is not the same problem as a blinking temperature display. Check the user manual for the exact bulb and model compatibility. Some older Samsung refrigerators use a replaceable E26 incandescent bulb, typically 30W or 60W depending on the model. - The refrigerator is not cooling properly, or the temperature display keeps blinking beyond the stated recovery period.
- An error code or blinking segment remains, or you cannot identify what the pattern means for your model.
- The deli-drawer panel continues blinking after the model-appropriate power cycle.
- Family Hub interior blue lights continue flashing after the instructed reboot.
- An LED interior lamp fails, or the specified incandescent replacement does not restore the light.
Because the refrigerator model and country affect the right procedure and replacement part, have the model number and a photo of the display or blinking pattern ready when requesting help.
