Cainz announced on October 6, 2026, that it had signed an agreement to acquire all shares of Sonitech, a specialist wholesaler of auxiliary materials for wooden homes. The deal is intended to strengthen Cainz’s supply and logistics services for construction professionals and connect supply-chain operations from new construction through renovation. Closing was scheduled for October 19, 2026, subject to required procedures; the announcement does not confirm that the acquisition has closed.
What does Sonitech do?
Sonitech is a specialist trading company for auxiliary building materials used in wooden housing. According to Cainz’s October 6, 2026 announcement, its work covers several connected steps:
- Preparing estimates and quotations based on housing plans.
- Procuring materials and handling orders.
- Managing delivery for each home in line with construction stages.
Cainz says Sonitech serves home manufacturers and builders, with offices and distribution centers extending from Tohoku to Kyushu. That plan-based coordination is central to the deal: a housing project needs different materials at different points in construction, and managing orders and deliveries can add work for the site team.
Why is Cainz buying Sonitech?
Cainz’s stated aim is to expand its procurement and supply capabilities for construction professionals. Its business includes home-improvement retail, e-commerce, renovation, and services for professional customers; Sonitech brings specialist business-to-business procurement, estimating, order processing, and delivery coordination for wooden-home projects.

- All units can stack one on top of the other and connected with durable side latches

The intended combination is operational rather than a simple expansion of Cainz’s store network. The company also says it intends to respect Sonitech’s specialist expertise and its established customer and supplier relationships. These are stated plans, not evidence that operations or customer outcomes have already changed.

How the deal fits construction-site logistics
The announcement points to worker shortages and the effort required to coordinate materials and logistics as challenges for the housing sector. In that context, the value Cainz is pursuing is a more connected process: translate project plans into material estimates and orders, then coordinate deliveries around construction progress.
