The Vagabond Haven Smile is a compact home designed for two, with an unusually wide main floor, a living room, kitchen and bathroom, and one double-bed loft. Its 3 m (9.8 ft) width gives it a more apartment-like layout than a narrow tiny house, but its trailer is not meant for ordinary road towing: the reported wheels are for small on-site movements, and a truck is required for transport.
What makes the Smile’s layout different?
The Smile measures 7.2 m (23.7 ft) long and 3 m (9.8 ft) wide. New Atlas compared its width with a 2.5 m (8.2 ft) tiny-house standard; that comparison is not a statement of a legal road-width limit. The reported ceiling height is 3.2 m (10.5 ft), contributing to an open feel on the main floor.
The design puts everyday living on the ground floor, with a separate loft-style mezzanine for sleeping. New Atlas describes an engineered-wood exterior with metal siding, and an interior living area finished in spruce with laminate flooring.
What is inside?
Living room
The living room is furnished with a sofa and coffee table. The report also describes room for optional entertainment equipment or additional seating, though it does not give a floor plan or usable-area measurement.
Kitchen and dining
The basic kitchen includes a sink, induction cooktop, fridge and cabinetry. Its dining table seats up to four, providing a shared eating or work surface despite the home’s design for two residents.
Bathroom
A pocket door from the kitchen leads to the bathroom, which includes a shower, sink and washer/dryer. The shower is reported as available with either a curtain or an optional glass enclosure. Toilet choices are described as flushing, composting or incinerating.
Loft bedroom
A storage-integrated staircase leads to one loft-style mezzanine bedroom with a double bed. The loft has a low ceiling, so the apartment-like impression applies chiefly to the main floor; this is not a second bedroom or a conventional full-height sleeping room.
Can the Smile be towed?
Although the home sits on a double-axle trailer, New Atlas reports that its wheels are rated only for small movements on site. A truck is required to transport it, so the trailer base should not be taken to mean the Smile can be freely towed on roads. The report does not state delivery costs or timing; ask Vagabond Haven for current transport arrangements before planning a site or budget.

What options and price have been reported?
New Atlas reported optional solar panels, batteries and water harvesting as part of an off-grid system, along with changeable finishes and an optional freestanding shed. It did not provide electrical capacity, system compatibility, or confirmation of current availability, so these details need to be checked with Vagabond Haven.
In its April 25, 2026 article, New Atlas reported an approximate starting price of €35,000 (about US$41,000). This is dated reporting, not a current quote; the article did not provide delivery information. Confirm present pricing, included specifications, options and delivery terms directly with the manufacturer.

Who is the Smile best suited to?
The reported arrangement may suit two people who prioritize a wider shared living area and a full kitchen and bathroom over a full-height bedroom. The key trade-off is clear: the main floor is designed to feel open, while sleeping takes place in a single low-ceiling loft. It is also a poor fit for someone expecting to tow a tiny house themselves, since truck transport is reported as necessary.
