Aqara’s CES 2026 headline products were the Smart Lock U400 and Thermostat Hub W200. The U400 was presented as one of the first locks to support hands-free Ultra Wideband Apple Home Key, while the W200 was promoted as the first thermostat combining Apple Home’s Adaptive Temperature and Clean Energy Guidance with Matter support. Those “first” claims need attribution, but the practical takeaway is clearer: Aqara is combining Apple-aware automation, Matter interoperability and spatial sensing in products that now have U.S. pricing.

As of the August 2026 pricing check, the U400 was listed at $269.99, the W200 at $159.99, and the Camera Hub G350 at $139.99. Hardware compatibility—especially Apple hubs, HVAC wiring and ecosystem support—matters as much as the headline features.

The short version

  • U400: Aqara says the lock can detect an approaching authorized user and unlock at roughly six feet using UWB Apple Home Key. It also supports NFC Home Key, fingerprint, passcode, physical key, NFC card, the Aqara app and voice control. Hands-free unlocking requires specific Apple devices, current software and a Thread-enabled Apple Home hub.
  • W200: This thermostat supports Apple Home’s Adaptive Temperature and Clean Energy Guidance, alongside Matter, Thread and Zigbee connectivity. It also functions as an Aqara hub and touchscreen control panel, but HVAC compatibility and wiring must be checked before installation.
  • G350: Aqara’s dual-lens indoor camera is positioned as an early Matter-certified camera implementation, with a 4K wide-angle lens, 2.5K telephoto lens, PTZ movement and hub functions.
  • P100 and FP400: These extend Aqara’s “spatial intelligence” pitch into multi-state sensing, posture, fall, headcount and dwell-time monitoring. Their availability and platform limitations are more important than the CES demonstrations alone suggest.

Aqara announced the lineup on January 6, 2026, during CES, held January 6–9 in Las Vegas. Its official announcement framed the products around spatial intelligence: systems that interpret access, occupancy, movement, climate and posture rather than merely reporting a button press or sensor state.

The addition of a USB-C port allows for mini-UPS and power bank connections, delivering unparalleled stability. (2A USB power adapter is not included. ) . Note: To ensure a stable connection, place the Hub M3 between 6 to 19 feet from the router.
  • [Privacy-Focused with Encrypted Storage, Easy Setup and Versatile Placement] The M3 prioritizes privacy by excluding microphone or camera components. It boasts 8GB end-to-end encrypted local storage, for device lists, configuration parameters, and automation configuration data. Additionally, it includes a mount and screws for flexible placement on flat surfaces, walls, or ceilings. Magic Pair technology ensures effortless detection by the Aqara Home app upon power-up.

With NFC Home Key, a user taps a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch near the lock, much like using a contactless payment card. UWB Home Key is intended to make that interaction hands-free: the lock uses proximity and approach information to recognize an authorized device as the user arrives. Aqara says the U400 can unlock at approximately six feet, but that distance is a vendor claim rather than a guarantee for every doorway, device position or installation.

Aqara calls the U400 “one of the world’s first” UWB smart locks. Launch coverage from AppleInsider described it as the first smart lock supporting UWB Home Key. Those descriptions depend on how “first” is defined—first UWB lock, first Apple Home Key lock using UWB, or first product available in a particular market—so they should not be treated as an uncontested industry-wide certification.

What the U400 supports

In addition to Apple Home Key, Aqara lists fingerprint recognition, passcodes, a physical key, NFC cards, the Aqara app and voice control. That range of fallbacks is useful in a household where not every resident carries the same Apple device.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The important limitation is that the lock itself does not create hands-free UWB entry. Aqara’s U.S. product specifications require:

  • an iPhone 11 or later, excluding the iPhone SE and iPhone 16e, running iOS 18.5 or later; or
  • an Apple Watch Series 6 or later, excluding Apple Watch SE, running watchOS 11.5 or later; and
  • a Thread-enabled Apple Home hub for UWB unlocking.

For tap-to-unlock Home Key, Aqara lists compatible Thread-enabled Matter controllers including HomePod mini, HomePod (second generation) and supported Apple TV 4K models from 2021 or 2022. A buyer who purchases the U400 without compatible Apple hardware may still use its other entry methods, but should not assume the headline hands-free feature will work.

Aqara also described the lock as Aliro-ready and said Samsung Wallet support was planned for the first quarter of 2026. Those are vendor-stated readiness or platform plans, not proof that every digital-key option was available at the CES announcement.

W200: Apple-aware climate control

The W200 brings Aqara into a more intelligent form of thermostat automation. Apple Home’s Adaptive Temperature can use household activity and iPhone location signals to respond as occupants leave, return, sleep or move into different activity states. Aqara also says the W200 supports Clean Energy Guidance, which can make small heating and cooling adjustments around periods when electricity is cleaner or potentially less expensive.

These are Apple Home and iOS capabilities implemented by the W200—not Aqara inventions. Contemporary coverage described the product as the first thermostat to combine those Apple features with Matter support; that superlative should remain attributed to Aqara or the reporting rather than presented as an independently certified industry fact.

The W200 is more than a thermostat. It includes Matter, Thread and Zigbee connectivity, works as an Aqara hub, and provides a touchscreen control point for compatible Aqara security and smart-home devices. That makes it potentially useful during a renovation or HVAC upgrade where one wall-mounted device can serve climate control and broader automation.

Installation checks before buying

Aqara says the W200 is designed for about 85% of HVAC systems and lists U.S. availability for the 48 contiguous states. The 85% figure is a vendor estimate, not a substitute for checking the specific system.

Before ordering, verify:

  1. the HVAC equipment type and whether the W200 supports its heating and cooling stages;
  2. the existing thermostat wiring and whether a C-wire is present;
  3. whether the installation needs Aqara’s separate $29.99 C-wire adapter;
  4. that the home’s Apple devices and Apple Home configuration support the desired automation; and
  5. whether the utility and region support the relevant energy features.

Clean Energy Guidance requires an iPhone or iPad running version 26 or later. Aqara specifically notes rate optimization in PG&E service areas when the utility account is connected, so the feature should not be assumed to work identically in every territory.

  • Local Automation for Reliable Performance – Supports local execution of automations for Zigbee and Matter devices, ensuring smooth operation even without Wi-Fi or cloud access. Enjoy millisecond-level response times for a more stable and reliable smart home experience. (Some automation, such as cloud push notification, will still require the cloud connection to be executed.)
  • Flexible Power & Small Size – Features a universal USB-A port for power and data, allowing connection to power banks, wall outlets, PCs, or routers for a simple and quick setup. The Hub M100's shaft can be adjusted within a 210-degree range, making its placement extremely flexible.
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 6 for Faster & Security—This product supports a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 6 wireless network connection, which enables more efficient connections with advanced WPA3 security. Wi-Fi 6 ensures smoother performance even in high-traffic environments, allowing multiple devices to connect without compromising speed or reliability. Note: To ensure a stable connection, place the Hub M100 between 6 to 19 feet from the router.

The W200 was listed at $159.99 in the August 2026 U.S. pricing check. It is strongest for Apple households that want location- and activity-aware climate control plus an Aqara hub. It is a poor fit where wiring or HVAC equipment is incompatible, where there is no reliable C-wire solution, or where household members do not consistently use recent Apple devices.

G350 brings Matter cameras into the lineup

The Camera Hub G350 gives Aqara’s CES range a broader interoperability angle. Aqara describes it as the world’s first Matter-certified dual-lens camera; the verifiable industry context is that Matter 1.5 added standardized camera support, including live video and audio, WebRTC-based streaming, multi-stream configurations, PTZ controls, detection and privacy zones, and local or cloud storage options.

The G350 combines:

  • a 4K wide-angle lens and a 2.5K telephoto lens;
  • 9× hybrid zoom;
  • indoor pan, tilt and zoom operation;
  • dual-band Wi-Fi 6;
  • Matter-controller and Zigbee-hub functions; and
  • claimed compatibility with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Homey and SmartThings, subject to each platform’s feature support.

Its U.S. price was listed at $139.99. The strategic point is not simply the camera resolution. The G350 is intended to be a camera, Matter controller and Aqara hub in one product.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

However, Matter certification does not mean every camera feature appears identically in Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, Homey and SmartThings. Aqara-specific AI detection, configuration controls, recording options and other advanced functions may remain dependent on the Aqara app or a particular platform’s implementation. Matter 1.5.1, released on March 31, 2026, further improved camera streaming, media formats, PTZ behavior, doorbells, chimes and intercoms. That later standard update provides useful context, but should not be projected backward as though every CES demonstration used version 1.5.1.

P100 and FP400 expand sensing

Multi-State Sensor P100

Aqara announced the P100 as a 9-axis sensor capable of detecting motion, vibration, tilt, knocks, drops, opening and closing, and object-monitoring conditions. That could make it useful for doors, cabinets, equipment or movable objects where a simple contact sensor is insufficient.

The important practical limitation is in the current documentation: object-monitoring mode works only over Zigbee through an Aqara hub. Aqara also says the P100 cannot currently be added through the G350 or several other Aqara cameras for that mode. In other words, a product described in the context of Matter and multi-protocol smart homes does not necessarily expose every function through Matter or every Aqara hub.

Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400

The FP400 was presented as a more advanced spatial-awareness device using mmWave radar and AI algorithms. Aqara says it can track multiple people’s positions, distinguish standing, sitting and lying postures, detect falls when side-mounted, count occupants, and measure dwell time and walking distance.

Those capabilities were pitched for homes, commercial spaces and healthcare environments. They could support occupancy-based lighting, safety alerts or room-use analysis, but the claims remain Aqara’s product claims. A current official product page, confirmed U.S. price and retail shipping status were not established in the available information, so the FP400 should not be presented as a currently orderable consumer product.

What was genuinely new—and what was marketing language?

Claim or development How to read it
U400 is a first UWB smart lock Attribute the superlative to Aqara or launch coverage. The UWB Home Key distinction itself is the concrete feature.
W200 is the first Matter thermostat with Apple Adaptive Temperature and Clean Energy Guidance Report it as an attributed launch claim, not an independently certified industry-wide fact.
Matter 1.5 added camera support This is a standards-development fact from the Connectivity Standards Alliance; platform feature parity still varies.
G350 is the first Matter-certified dual-lens camera Attribute the wording to Aqara. Its dual-lens, PTZ, hub and Matter positioning are the more useful buyer facts.
W200 works with about 85% of HVAC systems This is Aqara’s estimate. Check equipment, wiring and the C-wire requirement before installation.
U400 unlocks at approximately six feet This is Aqara’s stated distance, not a guaranteed result for every doorway or installation.
All smart-home features work across every Matter platform Not established. Matter improves interoperability, but vendor AI, controls and storage can remain app- or platform-dependent.

Which product makes sense for which household?

For Apple Home households

The U400 is the clearest CES standout if the home already has a compatible Apple Home hub and the household uses supported iPhones or Apple Watches. The W200 is more compelling where climate automation is the priority and the HVAC system passes the wiring check.

For Matter-first households

The G350 is the most relevant announcement, particularly for buyers who want a camera and hub while experimenting with Matter’s expanding device model. Keep the Aqara app in the plan, because Matter does not guarantee that every Aqara detection or configuration feature will be exposed elsewhere.

For an HVAC replacement or smart thermostat project

Start with the equipment and wiring, not the feature list. Confirm the system type, count the thermostat conductors, identify the C-wire, and check Apple and utility requirements. Add the $29.99 adapter to the budget if the installation requires it.

Best Value
Aqara Smart Thermostat W200 with Apple Adaptive Temperature
  • Apple Adaptive Temperature - With the Apple Home app, Adaptive Temperature uses your iPhone to adjust the thermostat based on activity states like 'home', 'sleep', 'away' and 'extended away'. This provides comfort upon arrival home and saves energy when away, without the complicated steps of creating or managing schedules. (Note: Adaptive Temperature requires a home hub (Apple TV or HomePod) and an iPhone or Apple Watch, all running version 26 or later.)
  • Apple Clean Energy Guidance: Smarter Energy Savings - With the Apple Home app, Clean Energy Guidance makes small temperature adjustments to use cleaner grid times when electricity may cost less, while maintaining comfort. The forecast is personalized for your home location using environmental and grid data. (Note: Clean Energy Guidance is available only in the contiguous U.S.)
  • Easy Installation with Wide HVAC Compatibility - Designed to fit most homes, W200 works with about 85% of HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, and PTAC units. No C-wire? Simply add the Aqara C-Wire Adapter (sold separately) for stable power. We even include a trim kit to easily cover old wiring and keep your wall looking clean and fresh.
  • Functions as a Smart Display for Your Front Door - W200 works as a visual control panel for your Aqara video doorbell (only compatible with G410/G400, G4 excluded) and smart lock, showing visitor snapshots right on the screen and letting you unlock the door with a simple tap. No need to open an app on your phone or run to the door.
  • Control Your Climate Your Way: App, Voice Assistant, or One-Tap Button Control – You can manually adjust the temperature via the app, or through voice assistants like Alexa or Siri when connected. You can also use the W100 wireless sensor (sold separately) for quick one-tap physical control. Perfect for easy changes from the couch, bed, or anywhere in your home.

For access control in a renovation

Use the U400’s Apple prerequisites as a design constraint. Verify the deadbolt and door geometry, power and fallback-entry plan, and whether the owner—not just the installer—has compatible Apple hardware. The hands-free feature is an ecosystem feature as much as a lock feature.

For homes without Apple hubs

The U400 can still offer fingerprint, passcode, key, NFC card and app entry, but its headline UWB Home Key capability will not be available without the required Apple setup. Buyers should compare it on those fallback methods rather than paying primarily for a feature they cannot use.

Why Aqara’s CES strategy matters

The five products are easier to understand as an ecosystem strategy than as isolated gadgets. The U400 interprets approach and identity. The W200 interprets occupancy, activity and energy conditions. The G350 adds camera vision and acts as a hub. The P100 interprets an object’s movement and physical state. The FP400 aims to interpret people’s positions and posture.

That direction is significant for connected construction and renovation work because the useful outcome is increasingly a coordinated building system: access can trigger lighting, occupancy can influence climate, and sensors can provide context for security or safety automations. The trade-off is additional dependency on specific hubs, operating systems, apps and cloud or platform capabilities.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Bottom line

Aqara’s CES 2026 significance was not simply that it announced two products with “first” attached to them. The U400 makes hands-free UWB Apple Home Key a practical differentiator—provided the home has the right Apple devices and Thread hub. The W200 brings Apple-aware climate automation to a Matter-capable Aqara thermostat—provided the HVAC wiring, Apple software and utility conditions line up.

The G350, P100 and FP400 extend the same idea into cameras and spatial sensing, but their headline claims require more careful interpretation. For buyers and building professionals, the best approach is to treat ecosystem compatibility, wiring and supported operating modes as part of the specification, not as installation details to discover later.
