The TinyPlex is a 40-foot-long, 10-foot-wide trailer carrying two mirrored homes, each reported at 200 square feet. Each side has its own entrance, power and water hookups, kitchen, raised sleeping platform and bathroom—so the defining feature is two separate dwellings on one oversized trailer, not a single home divided into rooms.

How the two-home layout works

New Atlas reported the TinyPlex on January 21, 2025, attributing it to Tiny House Listings. The article describes two mirrored units with no internal connection between them. Separate entrances and separate power and water hookups allow each unit to operate independently in the ways described, though the article does not provide construction, utility-capacity or performance specifications.

Each home is reported as 200 sq ft (18.6 sq m). The trailer measures 40 ft (12.2 m) long by 10 ft (3 m) wide and rides on five axles. The article presents the layout as intended for multigenerational families and student housing; it does not document occupancy or rental results. Read New Atlas’s TinyPlex report.

What is inside each unit?

Kitchen and living area

The mirrored layouts include an electric cooktop, apartment-size refrigerator/freezer, sink and cabinetry. The kitchen area has room for a washer/dryer. In the living area, the article describes a sofa, table and seating.

Sleeping platform and bathroom

A slightly raised platform is described as fitting a queen-size bed, with storage beneath it. A pocket door separates the kitchen from the bathroom, which includes a shower, sink and flushing toilet.

What the 10-foot width means for transport

New Atlas says a permit is required to tow the 10-foot-wide TinyPlex on US public roads. That statement is not a complete transport clearance: requirements can depend on the jurisdiction and route. Before purchase or delivery, confirm applicable federal, state and local rules, route restrictions, permit requirements and whether the towing vehicle is suitable for the trailer and load. The article does not provide those route-specific details.

What is known about price and availability?

New Atlas reported an asking price of US$118,500 when it published its article on January 21, 2025. That is a historical reported price, not a confirmed current quote. The available report does not establish whether the TinyPlex is still listed, what delivery or payment terms apply, what equipment is included, or whether a warranty is offered. Those details need confirmation from the seller before making a purchase decision.

Questions to confirm before committing

  • Is a TinyPlex currently available, and what is the current price?
  • Which appliances and other equipment are included in that price?
  • What are the delivery, lead-time, payment and warranty terms?
  • What permits and route restrictions apply to the intended move?
  • Can the towing vehicle safely handle the trailer and its loaded weight? The reported article does not state a loaded weight or towing-vehicle requirement.
  • How are the two units’ utility hookups configured, and what capacity does each require? The report describes separate hookups but does not specify technical requirements.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
