1. Saatva Adjustable Base Plus: best overall
The Saatva Adjustable Base Plus is the strongest all-round choice for buyers who want a premium, fully equipped power base and professional delivery rather than the lowest price. It independently raises the head and feet and includes a wireless remote, optional app control, programmable memory positions, zero-gravity and anti-snore presets, full-body, head and leg massage, under-bed lighting, USB-A and USB-C charging ports, and zero-clearance operation.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe base has a listed maximum weight capacity of 850 pounds. Saatva also lists a 25-year limited warranty, but that headline should not be read as 25 years of identical coverage: electrical components have more limited coverage under the warranty terms. Read the current warranty before ordering.
#1 Best Overall
- Adjustable Comfort: Independently adjust head (0-61°) and foot (0-37°) inclines with a wireless remote for the ultimate comfort in sleep and relaxation.
- Premium Heavy-Duty Metal Build: Crafted from high-quality reinforced steel for exceptional durability and a sleek, modern look that elevates your bedroom aesthetics. The heavy-duty frame supports up to 750 lbs, making it ideal for larger and taller users, while the extra-long King size design provides full-body support without the common “feet hanging off” issue.
- Wireless Remote Features: Easily switch between zero-gravity, anti-snore, and TV modes for personalized relaxation and sleep settings.
- Whisper-Quiet Motor for Undisturbed Sleep: Engineered OKIN motor made for quiet, safe operatio for adjustable electric bed frame operates under 45dB — quieter than a library. Adjust your position at night without waking your partner. Perfect for light sleepers.
- Universal Mattress Fit: Compatible with nearly all mattress types including memory foam, latex, hybrid, or gel foam, ensuring versatile use.
Independent testing supports the premium positioning. Sleep Foundation gave the base a 9.2/10 test-lab score and praised its adjustment range, massage, lighting, wall-hugging design and white-glove delivery. Good Housekeeping also named it best overall after its Institute tested 24 popular adjustable bases and gathered feedback from at-home testers.
Choose it if: you want feature depth, a polished appearance and delivery/setup service.
Think twice if: you need a risk-free trial. Saatva’s product information says the base is not returnable or exchangeable. Also measure carefully: the base, legs and mattress can produce a much taller bed than expected.

2. Nectar Premier Adjustable Base: best bundle and value sleep system
The Nectar Premier Adjustable Base is particularly appealing when you need a complete sleep system rather than a base alone. Nectar offers configurations that can include a mattress and bedding items, allowing one purchase to cover more of the bedroom setup.
Features include independent head and foot elevation, app or wireless-remote control, programmable memory, zero-gravity, anti-snore and TV-recline presets, three-intensity massage, under-bed lighting, four USB ports and adjustable legs. Nectar advertises a 60-night home trial on the relevant product page.
Sleep Foundation selected the Nectar Adjustable Bundle as its best adjustable-bed-and-mattress bundle and gave it an 8.5/10 test-lab score. Its review found the zero-gravity position useful for lower-back pressure relief and described the massage as zoned. Because the mattress is part of the experience, the feel, firmness and temperature performance will depend substantially on which Nectar mattress is included.
Choose it if: you are replacing both the bed base and mattress, or you want presets and massage without assembling a system from separate brands.
Check before checkout: Nectar’s trial, warranty, protection-plan and included-product language can vary by configuration. Confirm the exact mattress, accessories and coverage shown for your selected bundle rather than assuming every Nectar offer is identical.
3. DreamCloud Premier Adjustable Base: best-value base
The DreamCloud Premier Adjustable Base is a good middle ground for shoppers who want massage, presets, USB charging and app control without immediately moving to the most expensive premium bases. It provides independent head and foot elevation, zero-gravity, anti-snore and TV presets, programmable memory, three-intensity massage, four USB ports and adjustable legs.
DreamCloud describes the motor as whisper-quiet and says the base is intended for sleeping, reading and relaxing. It also uses tool-free assembly. In Sleep Foundation’s testing, the remote was intuitive, the motor was relatively quiet and setup was short. The publication selected the DreamCloud Adjustable Bed Frame as its best value and gave it an 8.4/10 test-lab score.
Sleep Foundation lists Twin XL, Full, Queen and Split King sizes, a 50-night trial and a three-year limited warranty. Those details should be treated as configuration-sensitive: live listings may use different names, such as Classic, Premier or a bundle, and coverage can change.

4. Nolah LiftEase Adjustable Base: best for seniors and accessibility
The Nolah LiftEase is different from a conventional adjustable base because its main benefit is helping a person transfer into and out of bed. Nolah says the platform can raise, lower and tilt, in addition to providing normal head and foot adjustment. An optional handrail provides another support point.
The LiftEase also offers zero-gravity and programmable positions, voice commands, head-and-foot massage, under-bed lighting and USB ports. Nolah lists a 750-pound combined weight tolerance that includes the mattress, compatibility with mattresses 8 to 15 inches tall and a 10-year warranty.

- BEDSIDE CONVENIENCES: Charge your phone with a built-in bedside USB, use the side pocket to store your phone or remote, and turn on night lights underneath to easily find your slippers

Important limitation: Nolah explicitly says the LiftEase is not a medical bed or home hospital bed. It may make ordinary transfers more convenient, but it is not a substitute for a prescribed medical device, caregiver assessment or clinical equipment.
Choose it if: safer-feeling transfers, an elevated/lowered platform and a furniture-like appearance matter more than having every possible size.
Think twice if: you need a conventional hospital-style bed, a broad range of mattress sizes or a return option. Nolah’s product page says the base cannot be returned.

The TEMPUR-Ergo Extend Smart Base is the technology-heavy option. Along with head and foot adjustment, it offers automatic snore response, sleep monitoring through the Sleeptracker-AI app, zoned massage, under-bed lighting, USB ports, PillowTilt, PerfectSeat technology and compatibility with Alexa and Google Assistant.
According to Sleep Foundation’s product review, the base automatically raises the head by approximately 12 degrees when it detects snoring. The review also reports a capacity of about 650 pounds, though buyers should confirm the current specification for the exact size and configuration.
Sleep Foundation selected it as best for back pain and gave it a 9.2/10 test-lab score. Testers found the app accessible and the massage settings meaningfully differentiated from simpler bases. The smart features are useful for buyers who actually want sleep data and automation, not merely a remote-controlled lift mechanism.
Choose it if: sleep tracking, automatic snore response, voice-assistant integration or sophisticated massage are central to your decision.
Know the trade-offs: it is expensive, has no ordinary trial and is not returnable according to the cited review. Its 25-year limited warranty includes three years of full parts-and-labor coverage, with more limited coverage afterward. App-based monitoring also creates privacy and connectivity considerations. Sleep tracking and snore response should not be treated as medical-grade diagnosis.
6. Puffy Serenity Adjustable Base: best trial and warranty policy
The Puffy Serenity Adjustable Base stands out primarily because of its advertised purchase protections. Puffy currently uses the Serenity Adjustable Base name and advertises a 365-night sleep trial, free shipping and returns, and a limited lifetime warranty. That is unusually consumer-friendly for a base, but confirm the policy for the exact purchase: a mattress bundle and a base-only order may not receive identical treatment.
The base provides one-click zero-gravity positioning, head elevation up to 80 degrees, leg elevation up to 57 degrees, dual-zone massage with three speeds, under-bed LED lighting and dual USB charging. Seven leg-height options range from 2.25 to 11.5 inches, giving buyers more flexibility when balancing storage, mattress thickness and overall bed height. A Split King option is available according to Sleep Foundation.
Sleep Foundation selected the Puffy base for pressure relief and gave it an 8.5/10 test-lab score. Its review highlighted the easy-to-use remote, zero-gravity and memory presets, dual-zone massage, USB ports, lighting and adjustable legs.
Choose it if: you are uncertain whether an adjustable base will suit you and want a long advertised trial and strong warranty policy.
Verify: the current price, base-only return procedure, shipping terms, warranty exclusions and whether the 365-night trial applies to the base alone or only to a qualifying mattress purchase.
7. Bear Adjustable Flex Bed: best for couples and clearance
The Bear Adjustable Flex Bed is a practical choice for couples, especially when paired as a Split King. In that arrangement, two Twin XL mattresses and two independently controlled base sections allow each partner to choose a different head or foot position.
The base includes head and foot elevation, zero gravity, programmable positions, wireless remotes, USB ports, under-bed lighting and adjustable legs. Sleep Foundation reports up to 12 inches of clearance under the base, which can be valuable in a small bedroom where under-bed storage matters.

Sleep Foundation selected it as best for couples and gave it an 8.5/10 test-lab score. Its review emphasizes quiet operation, independent positioning in split configurations, zero gravity, customizable presets and storage clearance. Bear’s support documentation confirms flat, head-only, feet-only and zero-gravity positions.
Rank #3
- Adjustable Head & Foot Comfort Angles: This full size bed frame can be adjusted to suit you. You can tilt the head section from 0 to 60° and the foot section from 0 to 40°. This means you can get the perfect position for sleeping, reading or relaxing. The electric bed base offers ergonomic support, so you can be comfortable all day long
- Easy & Flexible Wireless Remote Control: A wireless remote is paired with this full adjustable bed frame for intuitive one-handed operation. Adjust angles freely to achieve anti-snore and reading resting positions, and restore a flat sleeping surface with a single click for flexible daily use
- Universal Mattress Compatibility: This full size electric bed base is compatible with memory foam, latex and hybrid mattresses. It is designed to fit most mainstream mattress styles. It features a built-in retainer bar that locks mattresses firmly in place during angle shifts. This ensures steady, slip-free support at all times. Please note that the bed frame does not include a mattress
- Sturdy Construction: Crafted from heavy-duty durable materials, this adjustable bed frame full size reaches a max weight capacity of 750 lbs. Its solid anti-shake structure stands up to years of frequent use and creates a secure, cozy resting environment every night
- Easy Assembly & Built-in USB Ports: This adjustable bed frame full is designed for tool-free assembly, reducing installation time. It features integrated USB-A and USB-C charging ports, allowing users to power up their devices conveniently from their bed
Choose it if: partners have different sleeping or reading preferences, or you need usable clearance beneath the bed.
Important buying risk: Sleep Foundation reports no trial and a final-sale policy, along with a 10-year limited warranty and shorter electrical coverage. Confirm the current return language before ordering because a final-sale base is an expensive item to get wrong.
8. Helix Adjustable Base: easiest assembly and lower-cost entry
The Helix Adjustable Base is the simplest recommendation for buyers who want mainstream adjustable-base features without white-glove delivery. It provides head and foot adjustment, zero gravity, flat and memory presets, three massage intensities, USB ports, wireless remotes, screw-in adjustable legs and Split King and California King configurations.
Sleep Foundation selected it as easiest to assemble and gave it an 8.1/10 test-lab score. Its testers reported that setup could be completed in minutes without additional tools. The review also describes the base as relatively inexpensive while still offering massage and a broad range of motion.
Sleep Foundation reports a 750-pound capacity, free ground shipping to all 50 states, no returns, and a 10-year manufacturer warranty with two years of electrical coverage. Shipping and policies can change, so verify the current listing before purchase.
Choose it if: fast setup, a familiar feature set and a simpler entry point matter more than premium delivery service or a long trial.
Think twice if: you are unsure about adjustable sleeping or want the protection of a return window. Helix’s reported no-return policy makes pre-purchase measurements and mattress-compatibility checks especially important.
How to choose the right adjustable bed
First, decide whether you need a base or an air-adjustable mattress
These products are not the same. An adjustable base, sometimes called a power base, raises the head and/or foot sections to change your posture. An adjustable or air mattress changes firmness through internal air chambers. This list focuses on bases.
Choose a base if your main goal is sitting up to read or watch television, elevating your legs, trying a zero-gravity posture or allowing each partner to adjust position. If you want to change firmness independently on each side, you are considering an air-adjustable mattress instead—or in some cases, an air mattress used on a compatible power base.
Check mattress compatibility before ordering
Foam, latex, hybrid and many air mattresses can work with adjustable bases, but compatibility is not automatic. Check the mattress manufacturer’s instructions and warranty language for:
- Whether the mattress is approved for powered articulation.
- Any minimum or maximum mattress thickness.
- Whether the mattress must be used with a particular base or support system.
- Whether bending the mattress affects its warranty.
- Whether the mattress is flexible enough to move without damage or uncomfortable folding.
For example, Nolah lists an 8- to 15-inch mattress range for the LiftEase. That is a product-specific specification, not a universal rule for every base on this list.

Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallUse Split King when partners need independent control
A Split King normally combines two Twin XL mattresses and two independently moving base sections. One person can raise the head while the other remains flat, or each person can choose a different leg position. It is usually the most useful configuration for couples with different preferences.
The trade-offs are practical: two mattresses can create a center gap, bedding must be sized for a split setup, and the two sides may drift apart unless the system includes a way to keep them aligned. Confirm what is included—two bases, two Twin XL mattresses, connecting hardware and any retaining or alignment accessories—before treating a Split King price as a complete system.
Measure the finished bed height, not just the base
Overall height is the sum of the base legs, base platform, mattress and any existing frame or platform. A thick mattress on tall legs can make getting into bed difficult and may interfere with nightstands, windows, outlets or headboards. Saatva and Good Housekeeping specifically call attention to the height issue when the base is paired with a thick mattress.
Before purchasing, measure:
- The mattress thickness and the height of the existing bed frame, if one will remain.
- The floor-to-top-of-mattress height you can comfortably use.
- The clearance needed for storage bins, drawers and cleaning equipment.
- The width of doorways, stairways, hallways and corners along the delivery route.
- The position of the nearest grounded electrical outlet and whether the cord can reach it safely.
- Clearance around the headboard, wall and nightstands when the head section rises.
Zero-clearance operation can let some bases sit directly on a platform or the floor, but it does not automatically make every existing frame compatible. Check the manufacturer’s instructions before removing a frame or placing a base inside it.
Prioritize the return policy when you are uncertain
Feature lists are easy to compare; sleeping on a moving base is harder to predict. A trial or return policy can matter more than a second massage mode if you have never used an adjustable bed.

- Adjustable Bed Frame with USB Charging & LED Light-This adjustable bed frame includes USB-A & USB-C ports on both sides, keeping devices powered without leaving your adjustable bed. A soft LED nightlight under the bed frame provides gentle lighting at night.
- Adjustable Bed with Head & Foot Lift Options-Enjoy a fully customizable adjustable bed experience with head incline up to 65° and foot incline up to 45°. This adjustable bed frame helps reduce snoring, improves comfort for reading or TV watching, and supports the Zero Gravity position.
- Adjustable Bed Frame with Massage Function:Relax with this adjustable bed with massage features for both head and foot sections. Choose from 3 intensity levels and 4 modes. The bed frame with massage helps relieve muscle tension, reduce stress, and improve circulation before sleep.
- Height-Adjustable Bed Frame Legs:The adjustable bed frame includes 2″, 3″, and 8″ legs that create multiple height options—8″, 10″, 11″, or 13″. Raise the adjustable bed for storage or keep the bed frame low for easier access.
- Strong Steel Electric Adjustable Bed Base:This electric adjustable bed frame is built with a reinforced steel structure supporting up to 750 lbs. The adjustable bed base is tested for 15,000 lift cycles—1.5× the industry standard—to ensure long-lasting durability for memory foam, latex, and hybrid mattresses.
- Puffy: advertises a 365-night trial, free shipping and returns, and a limited lifetime warranty. Verify whether the offer applies to base-only purchases.
- Nectar: advertises a 60-night home trial on the relevant product page, but terms can vary by configuration.
- DreamCloud: Sleep Foundation lists a 50-night trial for the reviewed configuration; confirm the current offer.
- Saatva, TEMPUR-Ergo, Bear, Helix and Nolah: the cited sources report no ordinary trial or no returns for the base. Read the current policy before ordering.
Also separate the mattress policy from the base policy. A mattress may have a generous sleep trial while the mechanical base is final sale.
Do not confuse a long warranty with complete long-term coverage
Adjustable bases contain motors, controls, wiring and electronics. A warranty may last many years while offering full parts-and-labor coverage only during an initial period. Helix, for example, is reported to have a 10-year manufacturer warranty but only two years of electrical coverage in the cited review. TEMPUR-Ergo is reported to have a 25-year limited warranty with three years of full parts-and-labor coverage. Saatva also advertises a 25-year limited warranty with more limited electrical coverage.
Compare what is covered, who pays labor or shipping, whether remote controls are included, and whether the warranty is prorated. Keep the receipt and record the model and serial number after installation.

What the features actually do
| Feature | Why it matters | What to watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Independent head and foot lift | Lets you sit up, raise your legs or create a customized posture | Check the mattress can flex and that the raised position clears the wall and headboard |
| Zero gravity | Raises the head and legs into a preset posture intended to distribute pressure | It is a comfort position, not a medical treatment |
| Anti-snore or automatic snore response | Raises the head automatically or recalls a head-elevated position | Snoring with breathing pauses or daytime sleepiness needs medical evaluation |
| Massage | Adds vibration to the head, foot or body zones | Compare zones, intensity levels, timer behavior and whether both sides work independently |
| Wall-hugging | Helps keep the sleeper closer to a nightstand as the head rises | It does not eliminate the need to measure wall, headboard and nightstand clearance |
| Under-bed lighting | Provides low-level illumination for getting up at night | Check whether it is controlled by the remote, app or both |
| USB charging | Keeps a phone or reading device near the bed | Count ports and check whether both sides of a Split King have access |
| Voice and app control | Offers hands-free or phone-based adjustment and memory positions | Remote control should remain available if Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or an app is unavailable |
Health and safety: what an adjustable base can—and cannot—do
Elevating the head or legs may make some people more comfortable. It may also make certain symptoms feel less troublesome, including snoring, reflux-related discomfort, circulation-related discomfort or back discomfort. Those possible comfort benefits do not make an adjustable base a diagnosis or a substitute for prescribed treatment.
In particular, do not use an anti-snore feature as proof that a breathing disorder has been fixed. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine recommends clinically appropriate evaluation and treatment for obstructive sleep apnea. Persistent loud snoring, witnessed breathing pauses, gasping during sleep or significant daytime sleepiness are reasons to seek medical attention.
If the bed is being purchased for someone with limited mobility, discuss the setup with a clinician or occupational therapist when appropriate. The Nolah LiftEase may assist transfers, but Nolah expressly distinguishes it from a medical or home hospital bed.
Installation and first-night checklist
- Confirm the mattress and size. Do not place an incompatible mattress on the base. For Split King, verify whether the package includes two Twin XL sections and what mattress arrangement is required.
- Clear the delivery path. Measure doors, stairwells, turns and the final room location. Remove fragile items and make sure the outlet is accessible.
- Choose leg height before dressing the bed. Account for storage needs and the mattress thickness; changing legs later is more inconvenient once bedding and furniture are in place.
- Keep moving parts clear. Make sure cords, storage boxes, bed skirts, pets and children cannot obstruct the lifting mechanism.
- Pair and test the remote. Test flat, head-only, feet-only, zero-gravity, massage, lighting and memory functions before adding a mattress protector and bedding.
- Test the raised position with the mattress. Watch the headboard, wall, nightstand, lamp cords and nearby furniture as the platform moves.
- Save the documentation. Keep the receipt, warranty, remote-pairing instructions and the exact product configuration.
Where to shop and what to verify
Prices and promotions change by size, bundle and season, so a price shown on one retailer page is only a snapshot. Compare the exact configuration rather than comparing a base-only price with a mattress bundle.
Shopping shortcut: If you want to compare current physical products and accessories, use this adjustable bed base search as a starting point. At link time, verify the listing’s size, seller, return policy, warranty and compatibility with your mattress. An accessory listing is not proof that it fits every adjustable base, and not every featured brand or model is necessarily sold through the same marketplace.
For accessories, the most relevant searches are adjustable-bed-compatible sheets, a mattress protector for an adjustable bed, a Split King adjustable base and a bed rail for an adjustable base. Check dimensions and attachment methods carefully: a protector or sheet set designed for one mattress thickness may fit poorly on another.
How these recommendations were selected
This list is based on the cited product specifications and independent publisher testing in the research for this guide, not on personal use by the writer. Sleep Foundation says it evaluated dozens of bases in a Seattle test lab using a four-part process. Good Housekeeping says its Institute tested 24 popular bases and collected at-home tester feedback. The scores and awards above belong to those publishers; they are not claims of hands-on testing by this article.
The rankings also reflect different buyer priorities. Saatva leads for its combination of features and delivery service. Nectar leads for a complete sleep-system bundle. DreamCloud emphasizes value. Nolah addresses transfers and accessibility. TEMPUR-Ergo focuses on smart features. Puffy offers the strongest advertised trial-and-warranty combination. Bear suits couples and storage-conscious rooms. Helix emphasizes simple assembly.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between an adjustable bed and an adjustable mattress?
An adjustable bed usually means an adjustable power base that raises the head and/or foot sections. An adjustable mattress changes firmness, usually through internal air chambers. This guide focuses on adjustable bases, not airbeds.
Can any mattress be used on an adjustable base?
Not automatically. Foam, latex, hybrid and many air mattresses can be compatible, but the mattress manufacturer’s flexibility, thickness limits and warranty terms control. Check both manufacturers’ instructions before buying.
What is a Split King adjustable bed?
Usually, two Twin XL mattresses are paired with two independently moving base sections. This lets each partner choose a separate position. Confirm what the package includes and buy Split King-compatible bedding.
Can an adjustable bed stop snoring or help sleep apnea?
A base may make some people more comfortable by elevating the head or legs, but it does not diagnose or treat a condition. Loud persistent snoring, witnessed breathing pauses, gasping or daytime sleepiness should be discussed with a medical professional.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Which adjustable bed has the best return policy?
Puffy advertises a 365-night trial, while Nectar and relevant DreamCloud configurations advertise shorter trials. The cited sources report no ordinary trial or no returns for Saatva, TEMPUR-Ergo, Bear, Helix and Nolah bases. Always check the base-specific policy at checkout.
How tall will an adjustable bed be?
Calculate the legs, base platform, mattress and any existing frame together. A thick mattress on tall legs can create a difficult-to-use bed height and may interfere with nightstands, headboards or windows.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Choose the Saatva Adjustable Base Plus for the most polished premium system, Nectar for a base-and-mattress bundle, DreamCloud or Helix for value and simple setup, Nolah for transfer assistance, TEMPUR-Ergo for smart features, Puffy for a long advertised trial, and Bear for couples who want independent Split King adjustment or extra clearance. Before ordering any of them, verify mattress compatibility, finished bed height, exact size, electrical coverage and the base-specific return policy.
