BHG also named the Brondell FreshSpa Comfort+ Dual Temp best non-electric, LUXE Bidet Neo 120 best budget, TOTO S7A Washlet best luxury, and TUSHY Cloud+ best warm-water option. These are BHG’s picks and test observations, not independent findings from bettesworthconstruction.com.
How BHG chose its five bidet attachments
In a review updated July 1, 2026, BHG says it tested 31 bidet attachment models at home, using products for up to six months. Its evaluation covered installation time, tools and instruction clarity; ease of operating the controls; cleaning experience and toilet-paper use; and value, including durability and whether testers would recommend a product. That is a home product test, not a clinical study or a quantified comparison of household water or paper costs.
The best fit for a particular bathroom depends on toilet shape and clearance, supply-line arrangement, access to an electrical outlet, and whether adjustable temperature or a heated seat matters. BHG’s category winners are summarized below; the observations are specific to the review and should not be read as universal defects or guarantees.

Bio Bidet SlimEdge: best overall
BHG’s overall choice is a comparatively straightforward, non-electric attachment: dual retractable sprayers serve front and rear washes, while a knob controls pressure. The review says it fits round and elongated toilets. Its main limitation for comfort-focused buyers is that it has no temperature control. BHG also reports one tester noticed a louder tank refill with the SlimEdge installed.

Brondell FreshSpa Comfort+ Dual Temp: best non-electric
This model connects to hot and cold water, allowing temperature selection without an electric seat. BHG says it fits round and elongated toilets and provides front and rear washing. The practical plumbing question is whether a suitable hot-water connection is accessible near the toilet; BHG’s tester also found the top pressure setting too strong and messy.
LUXE Bidet Neo 120: best budget
BHG highlights adjustable pressure, a self-clean function, installation guidance and a protective guard around the nozzle. It is listed as fitting round and elongated toilets. The reported usability drawback is its somewhat clunky control panel; confirm current specifications and included fittings before buying.

TOTO S7A Washlet: best luxury
The S7A is the feature-rich electric option in this group, with a heated seat, adjustable water and seat settings, several spray styles, a motion-sensing lid and remote. BHG lists it for elongated toilets. It needs a nearby outlet, and its tester encountered difficulty mounting it on a skirted toilet and needed an adapter for the water-line connection—important reasons to check the toilet’s profile and plumbing before installation.
TUSHY Cloud+: best warm-water
BHG describes the Cloud+ as offering warm water, a heated seat, adjustable nozzle and pressure, front and rear washing, oscillation, and a wash/dry cycle. The review’s tester found the rear wash effective but the front wash less precise. That tester also needed a flexible supply hose and assistance from building maintenance to stop a leak, so this model deserves particular attention to supply-line compatibility and leak checks.

Check toilet fit and bathroom connections before choosing
BHG says bidet attachments are commonly 15–20 inches wide and often designed for standard round or elongated toilets, but dimensions and compatibility vary by model. Measure the toilet and consult the manufacturer’s compatibility information rather than relying on a category label alone. Curved-tank one-piece toilets and skirted toilets can complicate fit or installation.
- Check the seat and bowl: Confirm round versus elongated compatibility, mounting clearance, and whether the toilet shape leaves room for the attachment and its controls.
- Check the seat height: An attachment can raise the seat slightly. BHG quotes Danny Pen, president at New Era Plumbing & HVAC, advising: “If you don’t want a wobble, look for models with spacers or seat bumpers.”
- Trace the water supply: Non-electric attachments connect to the toilet water line. A non-electric warm-water model may also need a hot-water connection, commonly under the sink. Verify hose routing, fittings and shutoff access for the specific model.
- Check power access: Electric models need a nearby outlet. Do not assume a bathroom outlet is positioned safely or conveniently for a particular cord; check the unit’s installation requirements.
- Consider materials and serviceability: BHG says many attachments use durable plastic, while some include stainless-steel or brass components. Pen advises choosing reinforced plastic or metal components for longevity and notes that cheaper plastic units can crack over time.
Can you add a bidet attachment to an existing toilet?
Yes. These products are designed to mount onto an existing toilet, but whether a particular attachment will work depends on the bowl shape, mounting space, water connection and, for electric models, outlet access. BHG notes that attachments can be removed when a renter moves; check the product instructions and landlord requirements before making plumbing changes.

Does a bidet attachment affect your water bill?
Using a bidet does use water, but BHG’s review does not provide a measured change to a household water bill or a quantified toilet-paper savings result. Its test considered how much toilet paper testers needed alongside the attachment, but that is not a household-savings study. Treat claims about lower bills or paper costs as unquantified unless supported by measurements for your own use.
