Samsung’s Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra Is a Robot Vacuum With a Built-In Home-Monitoring Camera

Samsung’s CES 2026 Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra can monitor a home through SmartThings while recognizing obstacles and liquid spills. Here are its real capabilities, privacy limits, model differences, and uncertain US availability.

Samsung’s CES 2026 robot vacuum really can function as a mobile home-monitoring camera—but it is not a replacement for a dedicated security system. The Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra combines SmartThings-connected live viewing and patrol features with AI obstacle recognition, liquid detection, vacuuming, mopping, and an automated cleaning dock.

Samsung has not verified a US retail price or launch date for the Ultra in the sources available. Do not confuse it with the older Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI, whose separate US listing showed a price of $1,399.99 when checked.

What is Samsung’s Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra?

The Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra is Samsung’s CES 2026 robot vacuum and mop. It uses a built-in camera and other sensors for navigation and object recognition, while SmartThings adds remote monitoring features.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

That makes it different from the 2024 Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI. The older Combo AI also supports AI object recognition, mopping, SmartThings, and Bixby, but it is not the CES 2026 model described here.

  • PERFECT FOR HOMES WITH PETS: With powerful vacuum suction, Shark’s self-cleaning brushroll, and HEPA filtration system the robot captures pet hair, dust, dander and allergens with ease.

How the camera works

Samsung says the Ultra can provide live home monitoring through SmartThings. A regional Samsung product page describes three related functions:

  • Live viewing: check the robot’s camera remotely and use it to look in on rooms or pets.
  • Patrol mode: have the robot move around while monitoring the home and notifying you when it detects a person.
  • Absence sensing: use Wi-Fi channel-state information to detect human activity and begin cleaning when a room is unoccupied.

Human detection is not facial recognition. Samsung describes it as recognition based on general visual characteristics, and detection may be limited when a person is partially hidden or not fully visible.

This is best understood as a mobile indoor monitoring camera. The robot’s view is close to the floor, and coverage depends on its battery, Wi-Fi connection, navigation, docking, room access, and ability to cross thresholds. It may not see behind furniture, enter every room, or remain in the right place when an alert occurs.

It is therefore not a fixed, always-on security camera, professionally monitored alarm, or reliable replacement for a dedicated system.

The AI features that could be genuinely useful

Object recognition and avoidance

Samsung says the Ultra can recognize people, cats, dogs, cables, rugs, and other obstacles using deep-learning-based vision. In practical terms, that could mean fewer cable tangles, collisions, and interrupted cleaning runs.

  • 𝐏𝐨𝐖𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦: With 22000Pa HyperForce suction and Zero-Tangling Design, the Roborock Qrevo CurvX robot vacuum and mop conquers tough challenges including deep carpet debris, stubborn floor gap residue, pet fur, and long hair up to 40cm. You can freely select different mopping and vacuuming modes on the app to clean your home.
  • 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬: The Roborock Qrevo CurvX— the slimmest Roborock yet, only 7.98 cm, is designed for unreachable spots under sofas and cabinets, capturing hidden dust and delivering a deeper, more thorough clean.
  • 𝟖𝟎°𝐂 𝐇𝐨𝐭 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐩𝐬: The Roborock Qrevo CurvX uses 80°C hot water to dissolve stubborn stains and grease, ensuring your mops are thoroughly cleaned and hygienic with every use.
  • 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐎𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: With structured light and an RGB camera, the robot intelligently detects and avoids 108 types of objects, seamlessly navigating around obstacles in both well-lit and dark spaces—no need to clear your floor beforehand.
  • 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲-𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬: The Roborock AdaptiLift Chassis technology brings a new level of versatility, allowing the robot to lift its entire chassis to 4cm max or adjust individual sections—front, rear, left, or right—based on the terrain. Whether tackling high thresholds or effortlessly maneuvering around furniture legs, it adapts seamlessly to your home's layout, enabling smooth, uninterrupted cleaning. (roborock was the first in the robot vacuum industry to mass-produce a product featuring a liftable chassis system with three-wheel control, officially launching this technology in Q3 2024.)

Recognition is not the same as perfect avoidance. Results may vary with darkness, clutter, reflective floors, transparent objects, unusual shapes, and partial visibility. A robot that recognizes a cable can still become stuck on one.

Liquid recognition

The Ultra is also designed to detect liquid spills such as water, juice, and coffee. Samsung says users can configure whether the robot should clean or avoid a detected spill.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

That does not mean it understands every liquid or can safely handle every mess. Do not rely on it for large spills, sticky substances, chemicals, pet accidents, or liquid near electrical equipment. Samsung’s local manual should be checked for supported liquids, settings, and limitations.

Navigation and threshold climbing

Samsung says the upgraded Easy Pass Wheel system can handle thresholds up to 2.4 inches. The actual result depends on the threshold’s shape, width, material, approach angle, and the local model’s software.

A regional Samsung page indicates that some installations may require a designated climb zone in SmartThings and gives separate local limits. The claim should not be interpreted as stair climbing or universal ability to cross a 2.4-inch step.

Qualcomm Dragonwing and Bixby

Samsung identifies a Qualcomm Dragonwing AI processor platform in the Ultra. That confirms the hardware platform, but it is not independent evidence that the robot cleans better than competing models.

Bixby voice control can be used for tasks such as starting a cleaning run, selecting rooms, and scheduling jobs. Available commands depend on country, language, app version, and device configuration.

The cleaning system is still the main product

The camera attracts attention, but the Ultra remains primarily a vacuum and mop. Samsung describes:

  • Vacuuming and mopping.
  • Rotating mop pads reaching up to 200 rpm.
  • Automatic dust emptying.
  • Automatic water refilling.
  • Hot-water mop washing.
  • Steam washing or sanitation of the mop pads.
  • Hot-air drying.
  • A self-cleaning wash plate.
  • Multiple cleaning modes through SmartThings.

Samsung’s regional specifications describe approximately 100°C steam for the mop pads and roughly 50–60°C hot-air drying. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance results. Steam sanitation applies to the mop pads—not necessarily to the floor.

The automated dock should reduce daily intervention, but it also adds components that may need cleaning, descaling, consumable replacement, or servicing. Buyers should allow space for the dock and plan for regular maintenance.

Privacy and security

Using the monitoring features requires Wi-Fi, a Samsung account, and the SmartThings app on a compatible Android or iOS device. Samsung says the relevant Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam line received a Diamond rating in UL Solutions’ IoT Security Rating Program, which Samsung describes as the program’s highest level.

Samsung also cites Knox security, Knox Matrix Trust Chain, Knox Vault on applicable models, encrypted communication, and end-to-end encryption on a regional product page. Those protections are important, but they do not make a connected camera impossible to compromise or eliminate the privacy implications of placing one inside a home.

Before enabling monitoring, use a strong Samsung-account password and multifactor authentication where available, keep the robot and SmartThings app updated, secure the home Wi-Fi network, and disable monitoring when it is unnecessary. Consider whether the camera’s presence is acceptable in bedrooms, living spaces, or homes with guests.

Setup considerations

  1. Install SmartThings on a compatible Android or iOS device.
  2. Sign in to or create a Samsung account.
  3. Connect the robot to the home Wi-Fi network.
  4. Complete mapping and confirm that the robot can reach the rooms you want monitored or cleaned.
  5. Enable monitoring or patrol features if they are supported by the local model and app.
  6. Set privacy, room-access, and notification preferences.
  7. Test live viewing and alerts while you are at home.
  8. Confirm that the robot returns to its dock and resumes normal operation after cleaning or monitoring.

Samsung’s SmartThings labels and feature availability can change, so buyers should follow the current local app and manual rather than relying on an old menu path.

Availability and price: do not confuse the models

What is confirmed:

  • The Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra was announced as part of Samsung’s CES 2026 lineup.
  • Samsung has published regional information describing monitoring, patrol, AI recognition, liquid detection, and automated mop care.
  • No verified US retail price or US buying page for the Ultra was established in the supplied sources.
  • Samsung’s US listing showing $1,399.99 is for the separately named Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI Steam, not the Ultra.
  • The US Combo listing showed delivery and pickup unavailable when checked.

Regional imports are risky unless Samsung confirms compatibility. Plugs, warranties, SmartThings support, languages, firmware, replacement parts, and consumables may differ by market.

Samsung has also discussed up to seven years of software updates for relevant home appliances, but that should not automatically be treated as a universal guarantee for every country or SKU. One regional Ultra listing gives a security-update period ending November 14, 2030; that date should not be generalized to US models without a confirmed US SKU.

Who should consider it?

The Ultra is most compelling for Samsung households already using SmartThings, pet owners who want occasional remote visual checks, and buyers who value automated dust emptying, mop washing, drying, and water refilling. It may also suit homes with awkward thresholds, provided the local model can handle them.

It is a poor fit for privacy-sensitive buyers, anyone seeking a fixed security camera, homes with stairs or inaccessible rooms, and shoppers expecting facial recognition, professional alarm monitoring, or continuous whole-home coverage. It is also a weak choice for buyers who want independently verified cleaning performance before committing to a premium price.

What independent testing should establish

Samsung’s announcements do not answer several practical questions. A proper review should test cable avoidance, transparent and dark objects, pet recognition, water and sticky spills, low-light navigation, remote-video latency, patrol coverage, false alerts, threshold climbing, mop-pad drying, and whether cleaning resumes correctly after monitoring interruptions.

Until those tests exist, the safest conclusion is that the Ultra offers an unusually broad feature set on paper, not proof that every AI function will work reliably in every home.

Bottom line

Samsung’s Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra does more than attach a camera to a robot vacuum: it combines live viewing, patrol mode, obstacle recognition, liquid detection, automated mopping, and a sophisticated dock. The concept is especially appealing to SmartThings users and pet owners.

But the camera is a mobile monitoring tool, not a complete security system. Privacy, navigation, Wi-Fi, regional support, and unverified US pricing remain central considerations. Most importantly, do not use the older Combo model’s $1,399.99 listing as the Ultra’s price.
