What the OC or 0C code means
Samsung’s US washer error-code guide groups OC, 0C, OE, 0E, and related display forms under overflow errors. Samsung describes the condition as too much water in the washer. The precise display and procedure can vary by model and market, so check the manual for your washer’s full model number if the code is unclear. The code does not establish that one particular component has failed. Samsung’s public guidance does not identify a universal cause or say that every OC event requires the same repair. In particular, do not assume that a pressure sensor, inlet valve, or control board is defective based on the code alone. A technician can diagnose internal components for the specific model if basic checks do not resolve the issue.
What to do first if your Samsung washer shows OC
1. Stop the cycle and check whether water is still entering
If the washer continues filling and does not stop, turn off both the hot- and cold-water supply valves and contact Samsung or a qualified appliance service provider. Do not keep running cycles to test a washer that is actively filling. Samsung US: water-fill issues

- ✔✔【DIY INSTALLATION】▶Disconnect the power before installing this part. The installation needs to use Phillips head screw driver and channel locks. You can find the repair video on YouTube and follow it to install DC31-00054D Drain Pump, as there were plenty of do it yourself videos on there that helped guide you on the repair. Remove the plastic cover of the pump filter, then remove the 2 screws at the back. Remove the hose from the drain pump assembly and pull it out from the bottom of the washer (be careful not to cut the wire). Easy to install ,just remember which connector plugs in to which terminal
2. Let hot water cool before checking drainage
If the tub contains water from a hot cycle, allow it to cool before attempting drainage-related checks. Samsung advises waiting about one hour before following its drainage procedure because the water may be very hot. Samsung US: washer will not drain
3. Inspect the washer’s level and the visible drain hose
Check whether the washer is level and look for an obvious kink, damage, or installation problem in the drain hose. Use the installation limits in the manual for your exact model; hose-position guidance can vary by model or region. Do not remove the retaining screw or holder at the back of the washer. 4. Stop if the code persists
If Samsung’s suggested checks do not resolve the issue, if the washer does not drain during the suggested test, or if OC returns, stop troubleshooting and request service. Should you reset the washer?
A power cycle may clear a displayed code, but clearing it does not repair the cause. Samsung also warns that repeatedly clearing codes can remove error history that may help a technician diagnose the washer. Why the code may differ by model or region
Samsung’s US and Caribbean guidance classifies OC/0C among overflow codes. Samsung’s UK support page lists OC, OE, and OF for overflow and cautions that information codes can differ by model; its instruction is to consult the manual for the exact washer. Samsung France’s page, updated 25 March 2024, discusses OC/1C as water-level codes and distinguishes 1C as a possible pressure-sensor issue. That 1C explanation should not be applied to OC. Pulled off the plastic cover for the PX3516-01 drain pump filter and then the 2 screws behind that. Removed the hoses on the drain pump assembly and pulled it out the bottom of the washer, being careful to not cut the wires (taped the sharp edges of the washer metal).
