Short answer: the headline refers to a genuine Reolink promotion published on March 25, 2025—not a sale that should be assumed current today. The offer advertised savings of up to 40% on selected products and highlighted bundles with a Reolink Home Hub, two wireless cameras, and two solar panels. Reolink still sells comparable Home Hub systems, but check the current product page or official store for the exact model, contents, and price before buying.
Deal status
- Original publication: March 25, 2025
- Historical offer: up to 40% off selected Reolink cameras and accessories
- Current availability: the original promotion, prices, and stock have not been verified as current
- Before checkout: confirm the live price, expiration date, bundle contents, shipping region, returns, and warranty
For a home, workshop, rental property, or small construction site, a Reolink Home Hub bundle can be appealing because it combines battery-powered outdoor cameras, solar charging, local recording, and app-based monitoring without requiring a monthly cloud subscription. It is best understood as a flexible DIY security system—not a guarantee of continuous coverage or professional monitoring.

What the promoted Reolink bundles included
The 2025 BGR sponsored deal coverage described several bundle variants rather than one universal product. The highlighted packages contained:
- One Reolink Home Hub
- Two wireless battery cameras
- Two solar panels
- Camera-specific mounting and power accessories
The cameras varied by bundle. The two most relevant options were the fixed, wide-view Argus 4 Pro and the motorized Argus PT Ultra. Bundle contents can change by retailer, region, stock, or product revision, so do not rely on the old article alone. Confirm the exact SKU and included storage on the live listing.
What the Home Hub does
The Home Hub acts as the central management and storage point for compatible Reolink cameras. Instead of putting a separate microSD card in every camera, recordings can be centralized at the Hub. Reolink’s current system page positions the setup as local-storage-first and says it does not require monthly fees.
#1 Best Overall
- 【Only Compatibe with Reolink Battery Wi-Fi Camera & Doorbell】: Reolink Home Hub is compatible with most Reolink battery Wi-Fi cameras and doorbells. If you are not sure about its compatibility with your current Reolink devices or if you're having trouble adding a camera, please contact Reolink Support for firmware updates and assistance.
- [DIY Centralized Management]: Adding up to 8 Reolink devices (Reolink Battery Wi-Fi Camera and Doorbell) to Home Hub, it serves as the central hub for storage, alarms, and all-in-one management. No third-party deviece support.
- [Secure Offline Recording & Expandable Storage]: Even if your Wi-Fi goes down, your recordings remain secure within the Home Hub. With slots for up to 1TB of expandable storage, you'll have plenty of space for important footage. No subscriptions required, making it ideal for families looking to cut unnecessary costs while ensuring reliable, long-term storage of security footage.(microSD card NOT included)
- [Security Summaries & Smart Alarm Center]: Stay on top of what's happening around your home with daily, weekly, and monthly event summaries. Easily track motion-triggered events and quickly access video footage through the app. Plus, siren alerts help deter intruders with immediate, loud notifications when suspicious activity is detected. Whether you’re at home enjoying family time or traveling for work, you’ll always be in the know.
- [Advanced Privacy Protection]: Reolink Home Hub ensures your data remains secure with AES-128 encryption and exclusive Reolink security algorithms. Even if your device is stolen or reset, your recordings remain inaccessible, guaranteeing that your home security footage is always protected. The Home Hub is only compatible with a DC 12V/1A input.
The same page lists a 64GB microSD card in the described configuration and expandable storage of up to two 512GB cards. That storage information should be checked against the exact Hub model in the bundle. Actual retention depends on the number of cameras, resolution, bitrate, audio, event frequency, clip length, and whether recording is motion-triggered or continuous.
Local recording is also useful during an internet outage: Reolink says cameras connected to the Hub can continue recording. That does not mean remote viewing, cloud access, or every notification will continue without an internet connection.

| Category | Argus 4 Pro | Argus PT Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Design | Fixed dual-lens camera | Motorized pan-and-tilt camera |
| Coverage concept | Broad 180-degree view | Rotating view across an open area |
| Good locations | Driveways, façades, long walls | Yards, patios, open work areas |
| Main advantage | Wide framing that is visible simultaneously | App-controlled repositioning and tracking |
| Main limitation | Cannot turn toward a new subject | Cannot watch every direction at the same time |
Choose the Argus 4 Pro for a fixed wide scene
The Argus 4 Pro was described in the original deal coverage as a dual-lens 4K camera producing a single 180-degree ultra-wide view. That makes it a logical choice for a building frontage, driveway, side wall, or other area where broad, consistent framing matters more than mechanical movement.

- All-In-One Control & Storage Center: Centralized storage & alarm management for all Reolink cams - wired, wireless, PoE & doorbells (excluding 4G devices) on the portable App. Effortlessly monitor up to 24 devices (with Max. 12 wired connections) at a glance. Please note that it doesn’t support 3rd party cameras.
- Maximized Storage Capacity: With a pre-installed 2TB storage capacity for private local recording, REOLINK home hub pro supports up to 16TB HDD storage, meeting the needs for large-capacity storage. Please note that the microSD card is unable to save videos when both the HDD and microSD card are inserted.
- Absolute Privacy & Offline Recording: With built-in AES-128 encryption and LAN-supported offline storage, your security is always in view. Stolen or lost devices remain impenetrable without the correct password. Complete protection that never stops, online or off.
- Insightful Reports, Instant Action: Get daily/weekly/monthly summaries of all cameras' detections. Swiftly locate & play back events. Reolink Home Hub Pro's 120dB siren reacts swiftly to AI-detected motion events from linked devices. Personalize each cam's alert with 11 preloaded sounds or create 5 of your own.
- Up to 8K Multi-Device Streaming: The hub supports preview & playback at your camera's highest resolution, guaranteeing the finest details are impeccably captured and reproduced, enhancing your visual surveillance experience.
A wide view is not the same as unlimited detail. People and vehicles farther from the camera may appear smaller, and walls, trees, corners, and poor mounting angles can still create blind spots. A fixed camera also cannot physically reposition when activity moves outside its frame.
Choose the Argus PT Ultra for an open area
The Argus PT Ultra is a motorized pan-and-tilt camera. The original article described manual app control, scheduled sweeping, and automatic movement after motion detection. This can help one camera inspect multiple parts of a yard or patio.
However, pan-and-tilt movement should not be confused with simultaneous 360-degree recording. While the camera is pointed one way, activity can occur behind it or outside its current view. A fixed multi-camera arrangement may be better when several directions must be monitored at once. Tracking can also be affected by lighting, obstructions, Wi-Fi conditions, and camera placement.

Solar charging and battery life
The solar panels can reduce how often the cameras need to be removed and charged, but they do not make the system maintenance-free. Performance depends on direct sunlight, panel orientation, shade, dirt, snow, weather, temperature, motion frequency, and camera settings.
Reolink’s current system page advertises battery life of up to 180 days and cites a five-month laboratory result for a 4K battery Wi-Fi camera connected to a Home Hub under a stated pattern of 20 motion events per day, each lasting 15 seconds. Those are manufacturer figures, not an independent guarantee or a continuous-recording runtime.
Frequent activity at a driveway or active jobsite, repeated live viewing, spotlights, cold weather, weak Wi-Fi, and poor solar exposure can drain a battery considerably faster. Install each panel where it receives dependable unobstructed light and check its condition periodically.

Features and limitations
Reolink’s current wireless-system page advertises up to 4K video, color night vision, built-in spotlights, two-way audio, AI detection for people, vehicles, and animals, customizable detection zones, and 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi support.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThese features are useful, but they need realistic interpretation:
- 4K resolution does not guarantee useful identification at every distance.
- Color night vision may depend on available light or an active spotlight and is not equivalent to daylight performance.
- AI detection can reduce unwanted alerts but cannot eliminate false positives or missed events.
- Two-way audio is helpful for communication, but its usefulness depends on network conditions and the installation environment.
- Detection zones can help exclude roads, trees, and neighboring property, reducing irrelevant alerts and privacy concerns.
Compatibility and expansion
Reolink says the Home Hub supports plug-in Wi-Fi cameras, PoE cameras, and most newer battery Wi-Fi cameras, while excluding categories such as 4G cameras, some 2MP battery models, cameras in NVR kits, and certain add-on cameras. The page also states that a system can support up to eight Reolink cameras.
Best Value
- 5MP/2K+ HD Resolution Solar Camera: Enjoy crystal-clear footage day and night from these solar security cameras. A built-in spotlight enables color night vision for enhanced monitoring.
- 360° Auto-Tracking & Smart Detection: This solar security camera outdoor wireless automatically detects people, vehicles, and animals, then pans and tilts to lock onto moving targets while sending real-time push alerts.
- Reliable Solar Power: The efficient solar camera is powered by a detachable or integrated solar panel for continuous operation, eliminating frequent battery worries. Install the solar camera easily on walls, eaves, or trees with flexible adjustment.
- Local Storage, No Monthly Fees: Centralizes video storage from all connected cameras, expandable up to 1TB microSD. AES128 bank-level encryption keeps footage secure. (microSD card not included)
- AI Event Summaries & Shared Access: Quickly review motion events from your Argus PT security cameras. Assign roles (1 admin + 10 sub-accounts) with customizable permissions for live view, PT control, and two-way talk.
“Wireless” does not mean universal compatibility. PoE cameras may work at the system level but still require Ethernet cabling and power. Before expanding, check the exact camera model, Home Hub model, firmware, and regional compatibility list. Existing cameras from an NVR kit or a 4G product family may not be eligible.
Installation guidance for a home or worksite
- Test Wi-Fi first. Check the signal at the proposed mounting point, not just beside the router.
- Plan the view. Identify entrances, material storage, driveways, gates, and other priority areas before choosing fixed or PTZ cameras.
- Place solar panels carefully. Prefer unobstructed direct light and avoid locations shaded by rooflines, trees, or temporary structures.
- Balance height and detail. Mount high enough to discourage tampering but low and well-angled enough to capture useful faces and activity.
- Configure detection zones. Exclude public roads, moving branches, and neighboring property where appropriate.
- Test night conditions. Check glare, shadows, spotlight behavior, and whether the intended area remains identifiable after dark.
- Secure access. Review shared users, remote access, app permissions, and smart-home integrations before handing access to others.
Smart-home support
The original coverage mentioned Alexa and Google Home, and Reolink’s current page advertises Google Assistant and smart-home integration. Confirm the exact functions supported by the camera, display, app, firmware, and region. Live viewing may be available where playback, PTZ control, recording access, or two-way talk is not.

Who should buy—and who should skip it?
A Home Hub bundle may fit if you:
- Want local recording without a required monthly subscription.
- Need battery-powered outdoor cameras.
- Can provide reliable Wi-Fi at the mounting locations.
- Have enough sunlight for practical solar charging.
- Prefer DIY installation and the Reolink ecosystem.
- Want to expand later with compatible cameras.
Consider another setup if you:
- Need guaranteed continuous recording.
- Have weak or unavailable Wi-Fi.
- Cannot provide dependable sunlight for solar charging.
- Need professional monitoring or turnkey cloud backup.
- Require cellular connectivity; a 4G camera may be more appropriate.
- Need several directions recorded simultaneously; a fixed multi-camera or PoE/NVR system may be stronger.
For permanent installations where reliability and continuous recording matter most, a wired PoE/NVR system is generally the better starting point. For renters or locations where cable runs are impractical, the Home Hub approach is more flexible.
Buying checklist
Before treating any current listing as the same deal, verify:
- Exact camera models, including whether they are Argus 4 Pro, Argus PT Ultra, or another variant
- Home Hub model and compatibility with planned additions
- Included storage card and realistic retention settings
- Number and version of solar panels
- Current price, discount, and expiration date
- Shipping country or region
- Return period and warranty terms
- Whether the retailer is official or authorized
- Whether buying components separately costs less
