What does “remove the drum” mean?
Inner drum
The visible perforated basket that holds laundry is the inner drum, also called the basket or spin drum. It is a component inside the washer, not the whole assembly that comes out during the first stages of many service procedures.
Outer tub
The outer tub surrounds the inner drum and holds water. In the documented front-loader example below, the tub assembly is removed and split into front and back sections before the inner drum is separated. What does a documented WF6000R-family teardown involve?
A third-party transcription on Manuals.plus describes a Samsung customer repair guide for the WF6000R family. It identifies WF45R6100AP/US as its basic model and lists other WF45R and WF22R models in the family. This is an illustration for that documented family only; it is not a procedure for every Samsung washer, and the transcription’s original diagrams have not been verified here.
- The example describes removing guide-wire and upper frame-plate fasteners, then carefully removing the weight-balancer fasteners.
- It describes releasing damper fasteners and disconnecting wires and hoses attached to the tub.
- After opening the spring-hanger caps, the guide specifies that two people lift the tub assembly using its spring hangers.
- The tub front and back are then separated by removing the M10 bolt or bolts in the middle of the tub.
- For the inner-drum and flange-shaft work, the transcription describes removing six M10 bolts from the upper drum assembly and then disassembling the flange shaft.
The guide’s reverse-order reassembly description is not a substitute for the applicable original service document. Exact fasteners, tools, torque values, wiring and hose routing, and assembly details must come from instructions for the washer’s precise model.

Why is this not a safe universal DIY checklist?
