These specifications and the compliance statement appear on the Prepared Hero product page; the available evidence does not independently verify the material, rating, testing, or certification records.
A stated standard or temperature rating is not, by itself, independent proof that a particular unit will perform as expected. Before purchase, look for accessible documentation identifying the testing or certification body and the product or model covered. The company’s page does not establish those details independently.
How do you use a fire blanket?
Prepared Hero’s product instructions say to keep the pouch near a potential fire, pull the tabs to release the blanket, unfold it, hold it in front of your body as a shield, and lay it over the flames rather than throwing it. The page also says to turn off the heat source if possible and leave the blanket in place for at least 15 minutes. Follow the current instructions supplied with the specific product.

For a small pan fire, the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) advises keeping a pan lid or baking sheet nearby, covering the pan, turning off the burner, and leaving the cover in place until the pan cools. Is the Prepared Hero fire blanket worth it?
It could be a reasonable addition for someone who wants a compact item with deployment instructions, provided they understand that its stated specifications and compliance claim are not independently confirmed by the evidence available here. There is not enough evidence to call this particular blanket tested, certified, or superior to alternatives. No independent product test or comparative laboratory result was established.

Before deciding, consider whether the product’s handling steps make sense for the people in your household, whether you can store it where it can be reached quickly, and whether you can review documentation for the exact model. The seller lists grease, electrical, wood, and paper fires as uses, but those broad claims are not independently established here; do not treat the list as verified performance across all those fire types.
Fire blanket or extinguisher?
These are not interchangeable safety tools. Extinguishers use different agents and classes for different fire types. The USFA advises checking that an extinguisher has a UL- or ULC-listed label and choosing the largest one a person can safely and comfortably operate. Its fire-extinguisher guidance says to use one only when the fire is small and contained, you can operate the extinguisher, smoke exposure is safe, and you have a clear escape route. If those conditions are not met—or you are unsure—alert others, leave, and call 911.
