PerthNow’s December 2024 selection of 14 festive home displays spans suburbs from Alkimos to Gwelup, with synchronized lights, interactive features and family-friendly themes. It was a curated list in no particular order—not a live 2026 guide. The addresses and details below are the features reported in 2024; check with display owners or a current registry before setting out, as operation, hours, access and parking for the 2026 season are not confirmed.
What the 14-display list covers
PerthNow published its selection on 4 December 2024, drawing on a Christmas Light Search registry that contributors Lachlan and Chris said contained 213 Perth houses. The article described these 14 homes as being listed “in no particular order.” They are best treated as a snapshot of that season, not a ranked list or a confirmed route for 2026. The descriptions below reflect what PerthNow reported in 2024. They do not establish that a display still operates, that visitors can enter the property, or that any frequency or schedule remains the same.
The 14 Perth home displays, by suburb
Chidlow
- 1320 Stone Street: A Christmas village, giant inflatable tree, light tunnel and Santa flying over the roof.
Alkimos
- 8 Malleefowl Way: Nearly 30,000 synchronized lights. The 2024 article said visitors could tune to 99.9 FM for audio.
Balcatta
- 79 Hanworth Street: A veteran display home with Santa’s sleigh and nutcracker soldiers.
Woodvale
- 15 Solaia Loop: 27,000 lights, synchronized music and an interactive red button. PerthNow listed 89.1 FM for listening from a car in 2024.
Alexander Heights
- 30 Lancer Way: A solar-powered Super Mario theme with characters and game-inspired features.
- 8 La Salle Road: Interactive features including bubbles, music, a tree to decorate and sleigh photos.
Beeliar
- 33 Yorn Circuit: A Christmas-themed six-hole mini golf setup, sleigh, bubble machine and Grinch bean bag game.
Coolbellup
- 22 Hargreaves Road: A visitor-explorable display with elf houses, Santa’s grotto, LED gloves and photo opportunities. Confirm current access before visiting.
High Wycombe
- 9 Palmer Crescent: An Australiana theme featuring Bluey, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Santa on a barbecue.
- 31A Wem Mews: Synchronized lights and music, snowflakes, a snowman and singing Olaf.
Langford
- 143 Langford Avenue: A nativity scene, snow machine and Christmas characters. The 2024 article noted the display had returned after taking 2023 off.
Atwell
- 8 Kennack Vista: Rainbow-coloured automated lights synchronized to festive music, with a snow machine.
Hammond Park
- 27 Baumea Turn: Large presents, a Christmas train and a light tunnel.
Gwelup
- 3 D’Ercole Court: Flashing lights and festive music. The 2024 article said the display would switch on 7 December that year.
How to plan a visit without assuming the old details still apply
Because these are private homes and the available descriptions are from 2024, verify the season’s details before travelling. Confirm whether the display is running, its dates and hours, whether visitors should stay on the street or may enter, and where parking is permitted. Be especially careful with the two radio frequencies: PerthNow printed 99.9 FM for Alkimos and 89.1 FM for Woodvale in 2024, but neither frequency nor its availability has been confirmed for 2026. A car radio may be enough if an owner confirms an FM audio feed; a separate portable radio is optional, not a stated requirement.

South Perth’s 2025 competition
The City of South Perth’s 2025 residential competition awarded its prize to 14 Hopetoun Street, South Perth. It highly commended 8 King Edward Street, South Perth; 26 Bickley Crescent, Manning; and 17 Bland Street, Kensington. The competition page says registration, display and judging dates applied to 2025 and that the competition is closed; those results do not confirm that the homes are operating in 2026. Perth CBD Christmas Lights Trail
The City of Perth promotes a central-city Christmas Lights Trail, a separate event from privately decorated homes. Its 2026 sponsorship document describes a four-week event and reports that $16.5 million was directly spent in the local economy in 2025. The document is not a complete 2026 public calendar and does not verify which private-home displays will operate. Check the City’s current event information for dates and route details.
