Lite-on, Inc., a subsidiary of Lite-On Technology, signed a construction contract with Rogers-O’Brien Construction Company, LLC for a new factory project in McKinney, Texas. The contract is capped at US$348 million, but its final value will depend on actual settlement; it is not the confirmed final cost of the work or the price of Lite-On’s entire Texas project.
Who signed the contract, and who is building the factory?
Lite-on, Inc. commissioned the construction, and Rogers-O’Brien Construction Company, LLC is the named contractor. A Taiwan market disclosure republished by MoneyDJ says the contractor is not a related party and describes the work as construction commissioned on land owned by Lite-on, Inc. MoneyDJ’s October 2026 disclosure report identifies the project as a new U.S. factory facility.

What does the $348 million figure mean?
The disclosure gives the contract a maximum value of US$348 million, approximately NT$11.05944 billion in the disclosure’s stated conversion. The amount ultimately paid is subject to actual settlement, so US$348 million is a ceiling, not a confirmed final spend. The New York-based Investing.com report also described the contract as valued at up to $348 million. Investing.com’s October 9, 2026 report

How does the contract relate to Lite-On’s broader McKinney investment?
Lite-On announced a broader US$919 million investment in McKinney in July 2026, according to the title and date listed in the company’s press center. That announcement covers a wider investment and should not be conflated with the later construction contract’s US$348 million cap. LITEON press center
The project also involves existing property. The Dallas Business Journal reported in September 2026 that Lite-On had bought buildings at 300 and 310 Cypress Hill Drive, together totaling more than 650,000 square feet. Its accessible preview described a planned North American headquarters and manufacturing facility. Those acquired buildings and the new factory construction are distinct parts of the broader McKinney project. Dallas Business Journal’s September 16, 2026 report

The contract disclosure says the facility is intended for operation of a new U.S. factory. The available reporting does not establish a construction start date, completion date, detailed construction scope, or the factory’s production mix. The Dallas Business Journal preview said the project could create hundreds of jobs over several years; that is a prospective estimate, not a confirmed hiring commitment or achieved job count.
