Danis started a construction company grounded in the value of hard-working, creative employees and trustworthy client relationships. As the company marks 110 years in 2026, it presents that people-first philosophy as a throughline from its origins to its current work across the Midwest and Southeast.
How long has Danis Construction been in business?
Danis says B.G. Danis founded the company in Dayton, Ohio, in 1916, after earning a civil engineering degree from Cornell in 1909. The company’s history places its beginnings amid Dayton’s industrial growth and describes the firm as connected to that expansion. Those details come from Danis’s own historical account, rather than an independent history of the company. Danis’s history

The anniversary’s “110 years” framing follows that 1916 founding date. It marks a long-running business, but not an unchanged one: the company history also records reorganizations, a change in ownership of Danis Building, and expansion through an acquisition.
What does Danis mean by “it’s about the people”?
Danis’s history says its founder believed the company’s success came from “the hardworking, creative individuals within it who created trustworthy relationships with clients.” The sentence is the company’s retrospective account of his outlook, not a quotation documented as his own words.
